What I did was use the stock butttons (since I won’t use them) as the “middle-point”. I dirrled a tiny hole on a button, right in the center of it, then put it inside the controler, adjusted the drill on top of it, and started drilling.
I had to use 3 buttons to widen the 6 holes because the buttons were melting and shrinking
i just got the switches, and am slowly sanding away at the holes with a file with a rounded edge…while doing this im wondering why is there a need to replace the buttons, they are arcade spec already, the microswitches in the seimitsus look exactly the same as the stock microswitches, even the slit for the seimitsu buttons fits perfectly.
No, they’re not. The switches may be, but the buttons are specific to the product. The molded plastic tubes which the buttons slide up and down in are pretty terrible once the shiny surface gets worn down (the way mine were). The replacement buttons have less contact area (button surface to tube surface) and smoother action.

Quick question, how can you tell from the outside if the stick is the model with the JLW? I’m asking since spenzalii just opened his up and he found a different stick in it.
I’m guessing this question was aimed @ threi, but I’ll bite, heh. I just cut traces on the turbo buttons used a couple of them.
That’s why I use Lizardlick :razzy:
Sweet, man! I never would have thought to use black, but it actually looks excellent! The black with the red LED’s and the shape of the stick sorta remind me of Darth Vader :bgrin:
Sorry, man. I’ve not a clue. Sure would be handy to know so folks don’t have trouble replacing parts like ol’ spen did.

I wonder if checking the spacing for the mounting screws would work. On mine, the mounting screws are on the bottom and spaced differently from the JLW. There’s also no battery terminals on mine (the cover and mold for the aa battery is there, but there’s no battery holder or wiring at all.
Can’t say for sure if it makes parts a problem. I could use another LS40 and better spring (I put the JLW spring in for better feel) and I may swap the microswitches for some cherry switches. I’ll have the same issues with the buttons though
Ok here is the new situation: I am getting sick of having to manage two cables coming out of the stick. I have an idea in my head on how to fix this, I have some spare serial cables lying around and I figure I can make two cables, one being serial > USB and the other being serial > Wiimote port. I believe the serial cable has enough pins for both (and VCC and GND are shared) so it’s just a matter of making the top row of pins for the 360 and the bottom row for wii. Sound feasible? Anything I should know beforehand?
Sure, I think the genesis ones look better but what stick is inside them?
also, I completed the mod i posted earlier, there is a serial port on the back of my stick, and I made a USB > serial cord for 360 and PC, and a Wiimote > serial cord for Wii.
I have one of these but I lack the time to mod it. Would it b safe to say to fully gut it and put in a xbox 360 wired controller set up in there or maybe a wii classic controller?
