Or move to Dragon Nest’s PvP, like I did.
No executions issues at all. Leaving lag aside, if you lose it’s because you were outplayed.
so how do the people who called the op all sorts of nice things feel about seth stating that strategy, not difficult inputs make fg games interesting?
SSF4 provided plenty of systems to make the game more accessible to beginners. The reversal windows, easy inputs, ultra combos, etc. It is up to the player that plays a competitive game to decide whether or not they want to put in the time to maximize their execution. One frame links aren’t required to be successful, and players can always choose a character that don’t rely on them.
I don’t think C. Viper has any 1 frame links. Then again she is not a beginner character at all…
The most common one is cr.mp into cr.mp.
I am all for lowering the execution barrier. But I don’t think it would be wise to alter the game like that this late into its lifespan. Anyway, 1 frame links aren’t all that hard when you plink and get used to the timing.
Seth Killian is as relevant as any other Capcom employee who is paid to tell me how great their games are.
Except seth was a competitive player at one point. So his words do carry a bit more weight than just another capcom employee.

…isn’t it delusional to think that he would say anything negative about one of their products during an interview?
Like someone alluded to previously, the only way to “remove” 1-frame links would be to increase the advantage on all moves. Since 1-framers result from each move’s respective independent properties interacting together. I don’t think they intended on certain combos to be harder just for the sake of.
Then again, if you see execution in SF4 as the major hurdle to becoming a decent competitor in tournament setting, I can assure you you still have strides to go in various other departments.
Not the only method. They could take a look at all the one frame combos since most of them are probably known by now and ask a few questions. Are they worth doing dmg, stun, etc? If not just increase the hit advantage on the normal by one frame. Or they could just up the reward for doing the link for the no reward combos read most of Rose’s for example.
There are some things they can do without hosing the game or watering down the difficulty. I am not saying one frame links are too hard but I would like to see at least a decent payoff for doing one.

Not during an interview no. Was that where you pulled that from?

yes and he wasn’t talking about sf4. he was discussing the future of fighting games and what he thinks are unnecessary barriers to entry and what is genuinely fun about fighting games. I happened upon this thread and thought it was relevant to the discussion.
While that may be true, sfiv better not be the framework. There is far too much leniency in the games executions.

How about this since you have a furry avatar everyone just ignores you because you are probably an idiot (not probably, your post proves it!)
Actually no keep posting, this is fucking comedy gold.
But doing that would just create new 1 frame links
This thread is stupid
this shit is hillllllllllllllarrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiouuuuuuuuussssssssssss .
Yet another case of “I can’t or don’t do this, so nobody should”.
Options, people. You have them.
True but the point I was trying to make was they should be rewarding plus that’s what happens when I post without enough coffee in me, I don’t always think things through.
