Capcom Going Broke, only $152 mill in the bank

The lack Of Onimusha is disturbing.

I thought USFIV was gonna save them? lol.

Onimusha was in my head, but I couldn’t think of any good ideas. I’d rather not make something just to be making it. Quality comes first.

Easy.
Make it like 2 or 3 and nothing like Dawn of Dreams.

Dude, a Fight Fight HD with online co-op already exists. You forget about Final Fight Double Impact?

Yes, yes I did, actually… lol. Just change it to Captain Commando, or Aliens Vs. Predator*(dem licensing fees, doe)* then…

Just have Haggar pile drive a shark and watch the money roll in. Haggar vs The Sewer Sharks Gang.

Came into this thread and read someone asking for SNK vs Capcom 2. Get the fuck out of here with your short term ass memory. You forget how AWFUL the first one was? It was so bad people refuse to believe it ever existed.

It is so clear from this you have no idea how businesses work.

I’m willing to bet at least some higher ups have wanted to do more or less the same thing only to be told by the numbers guys that it’s a bad move.

You think you can solve everything so simply but you can’t. Even if you could buy the company, you’re all talk.

LOL this company just spent a shit ton of money BUILDING BUILDINGS INSTEAD OF MAKING GAMES… My ideas MAKE GAMES… Y’KNOW, THE THING THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING TO MAKE MONEY?

Which one of us has no idea how businesses work? The guy with ideas for new games and a plan for securing the future developer core, or the idiots who ARE NOW LOOKING TO BE BAILED OUT IN A BUYOUT?

Being bailed out isn’t bad business, ask every big comapany that got bailed out.

Buying buildings (you know those places people would need to go to to work) is not a bad idea.

You don’t have ideas, your ideas are “make more of old stuff” but even if you did have an idea and secured a future developer core (who I guess would work outside?) managing it and seeing it become profitable is something I doubt you can do without a ton of help.

And while they aren’t doing their best right now those “morons” are way more successful than you or I could ever hope to be.

I thought it was MGO or fucc the world :coffee:

With all this talk about buying up Capcom, does anyone have a figure on how much that would run?

tree fiddy

SNAAAAKE avatar when we get animated ones back

(po getting counter trolled <-- zoo could say this better)

Po, How is it a bad idea for Capcom to build buildings when the purpose of them is to grow their in-house studios? It’s a long term investment into developing more games.

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather trust the company that made KOFXIII with the idea of a CvS game, than modern. Capcom, considering the issues people have had with modern Capcom.

SNKP had more misses than hits. For every KoFXIII there’s an SvC: Chaos, KoF XII, Battle Coliseum and I’ll even throw in Neowave. They have a worse track record than modern Capcom imo.

Normally, building a new building to expand is a great idea… When you’re doing well and can afford the expansion.

It’s a bad idea to invest in new office space when its probably cheaper to rent, especially when you’re already bleeding money from being run by a bunch of retarded monkeys in suits… and instead of consolidating talent to focus on increasing revenue, you squander what little capital you have in trying to attract new blood, then turn around a couple of months later announcing you’re open to a buyout.

Capcom in a nutshell, people.

Also, I take back the line about retarded monkeys… Comparing Capcom’s Board to Monkeys is extremely insulting to the Monkeys- They are highly intelligent and social creatures.

I started wondering something that kinda fits this thread:

I fell out with Capcom over the comeback mechanics in their fighters (Ultras in SF4, X-Factor in MVC3). I could have gotten better at the games, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Are people who rag on SF4/MVC3 and their variations mad for the same reasons, or are there even more reasons I didn’t even consider?
