The lack Of Onimusha is disturbing.
I thought USFIV was gonna save them? lol.
Onimusha was in my head, but I couldn’t think of any good ideas. I’d rather not make something just to be making it. Quality comes first.
Easy.
Make it like 2 or 3 and nothing like Dawn of Dreams.
Dude, a Fight Fight HD with online co-op already exists. You forget about Final Fight Double Impact?
Yes, yes I did, actually… lol. Just change it to Captain Commando, or Aliens Vs. Predator*(dem licensing fees, doe)* then…
Just have Haggar pile drive a shark and watch the money roll in. Haggar vs The Sewer Sharks Gang.
Came into this thread and read someone asking for SNK vs Capcom 2. Get the fuck out of here with your short term ass memory. You forget how AWFUL the first one was? It was so bad people refuse to believe it ever existed.
It is so clear from this you have no idea how businesses work.
I’m willing to bet at least some higher ups have wanted to do more or less the same thing only to be told by the numbers guys that it’s a bad move.
You think you can solve everything so simply but you can’t. Even if you could buy the company, you’re all talk.

Po should buy Capcom and be the change in the world
If I had a few million lying around, I most certainly would.
First thing I do is issue a public apology for the company’s idiotic and trollish behavior, and to show them I’m serious, we announce that we are working on…
[details=Spoiler]DMC 5: Blood Brothers- THE stylish action game to end all stylish action games. We wanted this game to be the ultimate DMC game, so I have contracted two teams to develop it- Itsuno and the Dragon’s Dogma team vs. Kamiya and Platinum. Two-games-in-one: A Dante side, developed by Kamiya, and a Vergil side, developed by Itsuno… Brought together by a co-developed Nero side to bring the two schools of gameplay together. Crazy!
Then, I would do is call up Inafune and get him, Inti Creates, and Wayforward to joint develop…
Mega Man Gigamix- an all new 2D side-scrolling Mega Man+Mega Man X title in HD… A rift in the space-time continuum has allowed Sigma and Dr. Wily to combine forces! Can Mega Man, X, and Zero put a stop to the new robot army comprised of their deadliest foes? New stages, classic and all-new Robot Masters and Mavericks, plus unlockable characters*(Did someone say playable Bass and Vile?)* and collectables. Soundtrack composed by Bunbun.
After those two blockbusters, I show the fans I’m not playing around by having an Open Talent Search for new developers to bolster our weakened ranks and bring some fresh ideas in. The beginning of this will be a contest to find a few young developers to work on a new Breath of Fire title.
With a new solid core of developers, and a few great titles out, I get our guys working on an all-new Resident Evil title with a strong focus on the tension of limited ammo and narrow corridors in, Resident Evil: Return to the Mansion. To show our renewed focus on Survival Horror, the genre we helped to create, a new Dino Crisis title will also be on the books.
I’d also greenlight a Final Fight HD Remix with online co-op. With a renewed focus on improved netcode, we begin talks with SNK for Capcom VS. SNK 3: The Forever Fight. Before we begin such a massive undertaking, we make a show of good faith by re-releasing CvS 2: Online Edition.
Our fighting games are very important, and it is equally important that we get them to play as tightly and smooth as possible, so I bring in some former team members from the original Super Turbo team, the Alpha team, Rival Schools, Darkstalkers and the Versus team, along with other successful fighting game developers from other companies to host a Fighter Symposium, were we exchange ideas and concepts for future titles… The ultimate goal for this would be a new title in the Street Fighter franchise, but we obviously need to start a bit smaller, so…
The first title to come from this will be Darkstalkers: Eternal Night, the first fully sprite-based 2D fighter we’ve done since Third Strike. [/details]
There are many more great ideas I’d like to see, but alas, I am not yet a millionaire and cannot implement these changes… RIP, Capcom circa 1987-2007…

LOL this company just spent a shit ton of money BUILDING BUILDINGS INSTEAD OF MAKING GAMES… My ideas MAKE GAMES… Y’KNOW, THE THING THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING TO MAKE MONEY?
Which one of us has no idea how businesses work? The guy with ideas for new games and a plan for securing the future developer core, or the idiots who ARE NOW LOOKING TO BE BAILED OUT IN A BUYOUT?

Being bailed out isn’t bad business, ask every big comapany that got bailed out.
Buying buildings (you know those places people would need to go to to work) is not a bad idea.
You don’t have ideas, your ideas are “make more of old stuff” but even if you did have an idea and secured a future developer core (who I guess would work outside?) managing it and seeing it become profitable is something I doubt you can do without a ton of help.
And while they aren’t doing their best right now those “morons” are way more successful than you or I could ever hope to be.

cvs2/cvs3 or not?
otherwise fucc the world
I thought it was MGO or fucc the world
With all this talk about buying up Capcom, does anyone have a figure on how much that would run?

Po, How is it a bad idea for Capcom to build buildings when the purpose of them is to grow their in-house studios? It’s a long term investment into developing more games.

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather trust the company that made KOFXIII with the idea of a CvS game, than modern. Capcom, considering the issues people have had with modern Capcom.

SNKP had more misses than hits. For every KoFXIII there’s an SvC: Chaos, KoF XII, Battle Coliseum and I’ll even throw in Neowave. They have a worse track record than modern Capcom imo.

Normally, building a new building to expand is a great idea… When you’re doing well and can afford the expansion.
It’s a bad idea to invest in new office space when its probably cheaper to rent, especially when you’re already bleeding money from being run by a bunch of retarded monkeys in suits… and instead of consolidating talent to focus on increasing revenue, you squander what little capital you have in trying to attract new blood, then turn around a couple of months later announcing you’re open to a buyout.
Capcom in a nutshell, people.
Also, I take back the line about retarded monkeys… Comparing Capcom’s Board to Monkeys is extremely insulting to the Monkeys- They are highly intelligent and social creatures.
I started wondering something that kinda fits this thread:
I fell out with Capcom over the comeback mechanics in their fighters (Ultras in SF4, X-Factor in MVC3). I could have gotten better at the games, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Are people who rag on SF4/MVC3 and their variations mad for the same reasons, or are there even more reasons I didn’t even consider?
