I would make a crack at Capcom’s failure rate and Japan’s suicide rate. But no. I hope this building has Legends 3 in it.
Capcom… “Highly original games”… Mega Man Legends 3…

Oh man… You guys gotta stop making me laugh so hard… I’m in tears right now…
Capcom could be changing. I am sure after their horrible PR over the last couple of years had to have reached someone at the top. I mean, they can hear us when we complain that shit is 2 frames to fast so its broken.
One thing I like about Capcom over nintendo. This could possibly be Capcom turning a new leaf and getting back on track again. I’m all for it.
Especially if we get Shonen Jump vs Capcom out of it.
I honestly don’t doubt them. Out of all the game publishers out there Capcom is the only one that constantly puts out new IPs. They are more willing to release new IPs over anyone else. This console generation had Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Dark Void, Remember Me, Dragon’s Dogma, Ghost Trick, Zack & Wiki, Asura’s Wrath, and few others. Most the major publishers wouldn’t be bothered to release more than 2 original IP much less the amount I just listed that came from Capcom.
Or maybe Tencent will outright buy Capcom and convert all their franchises into MMOs and MOBAs. As much as we all hate Capcom it would be sad to see all hope of a future DMC, SF, RE, Mega Man, etc definitively die and just be LoL and WoW clones.
A Mega Man MMO…the horror…the trolling…I better edit this post before a Capcom executive reads it.
I thought capcom was bankrupt? Now you’re telling me they have the money to build 2 skyscrapers and pack them full of devs?
I wish I had the faith you guys did… Too much trolling and too many bad decisions with the same people still in charge…
Nope, not buying those wolf tickets they’re selling.
But Capcom COO is in content to running their popular IPs into the ground. They are trying to brute force their way for everything, they need to make money . They already had mobile shit for every Ip you can possibly name.

Capcom plan is to shift to the digtal distrubition because they are slowly realizing that they can mlik people’s dollar using online content instead of retail sales. So we are seeing a very desperate Capcom investing in mobile/pc online games and more DLC because they have higher profit marins.
The Decline Capcom should be mostly blame for Capcom’s upper management.
Well if you add this piece to the puzzle it all kinda comes together.
With that as a reference it went down like this, from the beginning of the thread
- Capcom is in dire financial straits
- Capcom releases their bread winner Monster Hunter 4
- It sells 4+ million copies in Japan alone making them an assload of money
- (CEO) Tsujimoto and son say “Ya know what? let’s invest in mobile gaming. Yeah, and let’s put Monster Hunter Frontier on every other system for a steady cash flow.”
- They cut into their Monster Hunter 4 CAKE (about $70 million I think?) to invest in a team to help venture into the mobile scene.
- Their efforts thus far turn out to be a waste of time as their games (still) don’t strike chord with the mobile crowd
- Monster Hunter Frontier (was 360 and PC exclusive) are now updated (Monster Hunter Frontier G) and ported to PS3 and Wii U, and available on PC/360 and soon Vita
- The game fails to meet expectations, probably (or obviously) because people would rather play a real MonHun than a MMO version based on Gen 2
Capcom investing in these new R&D buildings has been in the pipeline since last year. One side was making a strictly mobile focused team while the other side is to focus one stuff like MMO and Online Web-Browser games, Next-Gen and PC games, and new IP’s as well. They’re also in talks with Tecent to break into the Chinese market as well with Monster Hunter Online, which runs on the cryengine 3.
tl;dr
- Monster Hunter 4 pulled them out of the red
- They spent that MonHun money on the mobile market and so far their results gradually backfired
- They’re continuing with their Plan B (see my other post above) and trying to fix Plan A
This is all the while Capcom has yet to release Monster Hunter 4G which will be out later this year in Japan (US/EU 2015) and it’s guaranteed to break 3.5~4 million minimum in Japan only so at this point they’re not broke, but they might as well be since they’re really incompetent.
Monster Hunter is basically Japanese COD at this point, Capcom is running that game into the FUCKING ground with hard they are using it.
cvs2/cvs3 or not?
otherwise fucc the world
Cvs3,
Directed by Ono.
At this point just have SvC2 and let SNK make it. HD-mode Sakura with a dive kick, please. I’m still mourning the Sho-time combos.
A third party could take over the company if it buys enough stocks.
So maybe Street Fighter, Resident Evil, and Devil May Cry won’t be complete shit anymore.
Activision Capcom now with two DLC for the price of three (or just one season pass ) !
With new groundbreaking state of the art games like “Call of Donte” and “Duty May Call”.
As long as Microsoft doesn’t get their hands on it, things could be pretty interesting. I mean…look at what they did to Rare. And hell, nobody wants SF5 to turn out like THAT XBone fighting game did.
I feel like Sony getting it might work out better for say Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Street Fighter (though with there being Bayonetta games on Nintendo consoles, it’s not to say DMC couldn’t work on WiiU). However, I feel like Nintendo getting it would be good for stuff like Mega Man, Breath of Fire, and even Darkstalkers.
Of course…neither of these could wind up getting it and we could see something out of the blue like Bamco, Sega, NRS/WB, or who knows who getting it. Just…no EA or Ubisoft, and if Nintendo gets it, don’t make SF5 WiiU exclusive or something.
They are taking measures to keep one Company from completely buying them out, but there is ways around that obviously.
Sony purchasing them could be cool, Nintendo not really.
Platinum buying them up would be all kinds of funny.
I doubt Platinum could afford it tbh.
