I remember this time last year many players said the same about Mortal Kombat. It had many bugs and glitches like parry glitch, Kabal’s block infinite, invincibly not always working with wake-up attacks, etc. Guess which game is making it’s return to Evo this year? Since the game is only a little over a week old that’s a ridiculous claim to make.
I like trolling with my Ryu/Ken team online. Too bad my main won’t be here until November. Blanka fo life!
Oh, and that new MLG support… dat prize pool…
We can only pray.
Hey kiddo, stating my opinion =/= trolling.
Brawl had bad input lag and was NOTHING like offline, but this game has visual and audio glitches.
This game is stiff and I want you to do something. Go play Bison in ssf4, then go play him in sfxt. This is one example. Hell, I want you to try and do a few scissor kicks. It’s stiff and clunky. I’m not the only one saying that.
Without a large amount of people playing a game what does the game even matter? Many players = competition and the chance to really see the game played at the highest levels. If only a handful of people are playing a game you’lll never see that. So in essence, while other games were release, they didn’t matter. No on rallies behind those games in a meaningful way.
Exactly, not a single one of those games does any large portion of the FGC give a shit about. None of those games brought the community together. After 3s, CvS2, and MvC2, that was it. Those 3 games, really just 2 as CvS2 fell off after a while, kept the FGC together and sustained it. None of those other games could have done that. That’s why it’s called the dark ages. It’s like some of you just don’t get it, the term isn’t new, it’s been used for a wihle to describe that time period. SF4 brought fighting games back, none of those other games you list did anything for the community.
Your original post didnt say Bison, it said the game in general, and while I can agree Bisons not in as good shape as he was in SF4, the game as a whole is much less sluggish and better/faster paced.
But the real part that made the trolling apparent was the Brawl comment. Noone should be giving the online of that game any sort of credit. It had by far the worst online of not just fighting games, but ANY game I’ve ever played… by far. You can’t say that’s not trolling when you take a game that was literally unplayable online and compare it to a game that runs great but has sound issues.
Yes I can. I said I haven’t played an online that bad since Brawl. I meant that and I’m not taking it back. The online is atrocious here. However it might be because a lot of new people are on it/heavy traffic. When I first got the game it seemed better than ssf4 but a week in it’s awful and the sound and visual glitches make it near unplayable. I’m sure a patch will make it fun again though.
Brb taking a pic of my PS2 copies of both games.
Lol the FGC isn’t just the US. GG would bring in as many as 3S anyway before SF4, which means both were larger than CvS2 and MvC2.
Just because the US wasn’t getting new Capcom games doesn’t mean the rest of the world (which does matter, despite what you want to believe), doesn’t mean those games were bad or not worth playing. KoF and Tekken are huge outside of the US (they still playing 98 and 2002 and that list forgot 98UM and 02UM), SC is big in Europe kind of like how Marvel/SF are big in the US.
Seriously, Capcom is not the only massive FG, US is not the only FGC.
I am not joking.
Please name another fighter in this generation, that isn’t The King of Fighters XIII, that is more good/serious than Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. (Maybe I should’ve said Ver. 2012)
Please.
Sound giltches is normal, visual shouldnt be. Sounds like a connection prob. Wish my tv card worked on win7 because I’d give some examples of normal online play.
And that golden age is about to come to an end if SFxT is successful.
Too many folks think that SFxT and it’s overpowered paid DLC is an isolated incident - like, if Capcom ends up earning hand over fist in cash by selling gems, that somehow they wouldn’t do it with Darkstalkers 4, Street Fighter 5 or any other games they have in the pipe line. If this is the case, I have a bridge I want to sell you.
If SFxT is successful, then one of two scenarios will result.
The first, consumers keep biting on this pay-to-win crap until it affects not only all Capcom fighters, but all rival fighting game developers realize they’d be stupid not to exploit their customers in the same way. The whole spirit of competition will be curb stomped into a system that favors those who toss hundreds of dollars at the companies that make this game, while all those who just buy the game and their controllers with be placed at a inherit disadvantage.
The second, consumers eventually get tired of having their wallets raped, and maybe even grow some balls and stop buying this crap (hard to believe, I know, that’s why I’m filing this under ‘fantasy’ for now) - but likely, this won’t happen until it’s too late and all other companies have already adopted this money-grabbing scheme, and it’ll just result in the fighting game scene dying once again.
In either case, the fighting game community as it is now will die.
Just remember, we can all make a conscientious choice right now and keep the fighting game genre from imploding in on itself. Time to choose your side.

Yeah the DLC and gem system crap alone is enough to have me staying far away from SFxT. It’s just too much drama when my local scene already complained a ton about the last 2 Capcom fighters that came out and that was almost entirely just about their gameplay. I like a fighter where you just play the game and unlock the game through the game.
Even though I find absolutely nothing interesting about this game (to me it’s like more boring Alpha 1/2 with a tag system and shitty SFIV art), I do like that the game is at least more “chaotic” than SFIV. It brings SF back more to the old days where the characters and sub systems actually allowed people to do scary shit. The team system like in Marvel makes it so matchups can be covered without having to pick up an entire new character or set of characters.
SFIV was just an overly fair fighting engine that just didn’t allow you to be very creative and just went with the knee jerk patch route on the few things that were anything close to good. You had to worry your ass off about any character getting the slightest amount of anything good or it would hurt your character big time. Making the game just really stale for me.
The best thing this game does is bring things back to the 2005 and on Evo/FGC days when the best thing about fighting games was that there was more than ONE DAMN game. Everybody had their favorite and shitted on the other games but that was good because that meant there were different games being played and there was variety. SFIV being the main game for like 3 years put the US scene in vacuum IMO when like in Japan you can just walk to another arcade and play 3S or VF5 FS if you’re tired of SFIV.
**That’s really what makes fighting games fun. The fact that people hate certain ones and like the others. It just the diversity in each game and that one person’s trash game is someone else’s treasure game thing that really makes it fun. In the end play what you find fun, fuck the honest shit. It’s a video game after all. **
i use the hdmi cord, ill store a fireball with juri and she does the leg animation but there are no fireballs lol. Also some shotos like ryu and ken throw plasma and i cant see it ι(´Д`υ)
@Graphf
…
Did you read what i’ve post earlier?
I’m not going to bash you if you think that way, but remember that a lot of people had different experiences and mindsets on different places in that time, Marvel could be the greatest thing on the US but some people on other countries think is shit , KOF can be the greatest game on Latin America and some Asian countries but some people think is shit in other countries, etc, etc. different tastes after all, but at least if some games are the biggest phenomenon on certain countries does not mean that other games can’t be played or promoted, hell look at KOF on North America, it didn’t have an scene at all and his nice acceptance now is not because of SFIV in my opinion, is because SNK failed to deliver a good game in the past years, now hopefully we can expect more games from them in the next years (Samsho maybe?)
We had KOF and SC tournaments with almost 300 players in my country, we only cared about having fun, not e-fame or any celebrity crap, you can talk to any of these people if they gave a shit about MvC2 in that time, it was funny to see how some people were different than the scene scumbags today, 2 friends tried to show Marvel in a better manner and show them how fun and competitive they can be, instead of acting like mindless retards following the games of 1 company only or the big group, and guess what? we had fun with MVC2 tournaments and a lot of people supported the game because people had love for the genre (i am bad at marvel), shit talkers always exists but is not impediment to play those games, USA is not the entire world, i had the opportunity to see a nice SC scene in Viña del Mar (Chile), you can still see a shitton of people still playing KOF on Mexico, Central and South America running tournaments everyweek, The SC scene on France, The Vampire Savior community in Japan, and don’t forget the FG scene in Brazil, etc. etc. etc,
In my local community we are running SFxT, although i don’t like the game to be taken seriously is nice to see variety for everyone tastes, and a lot of us still play those old games that “no one gives a shit” because we had great moments with them and we are still getting good moments with them, not because we want to show us like cool elitists in front of the new players, we just want to show them all the games that are available for the genre and how good they can be.
Unfortunately for you, my answers to this question will be TTT2 and SFxT, so this argument is moot.
Opinions.
I think you answered your own question.
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown for me. Game’s been out for a while and if I was in Japan I’d be playing that (and some TTT2) way more than SFIV when it comes to newer games.
Once it all comes down to it the only console fighters I’ll be playing are UMVC3, Skullgirls and VF5 FS. Skullgirls most likely being the main game.
Opinions? Sure, but no way in hell SFxT.
I forgot about TTT2 though. I’ll give you that one, despite the fact I was only thinking about 2D fighters.
I know, right? lol
