Capcom did a good job, SFxT is just great!

It is a great game. People want it to be like ‘a polished’ sf4, though, so they are upset about it

Dismissing huge, ridiculous flaws with an ad hominem argument? Not this time.
Stop protecting garbage, you deserve better. We deserve better.

the game is clearly unfinished. but its fun.

so the question is: after a few patches, will the game be both fun and polished? or will it just get messier and messier until it completely unravels and is forgotten?

He´s talking mostly about mainstream and casual players before SF IV u could hardly find anyone to play fighters and thats a fact. Yeah a tight small group of use were here playing here tekken, 3s and gg but that was so small compared to today and im talking about germany and few other european countries and not the us scence.

Capcom and this Microwave game making crap needs to stop.

Please outline the “huge” flaws.

Couch co-op? Not a huge flaw. Not a popular function, or even one that was known existed anyway until after release. Could just have easily been removed from the game altogether.
Infinites? There are no true infinites, and this is not the first game to have them.
Glitches? Not the first game to have gamebreaking glitches, and these glitches are already being addressed.

You don’t DESERVE anything. The core game runs fine, is enjoyable and is a breath of fresh air.

Just gonna say this. We live in America. I wouldn’t give a fuck if Latin America or Japan have strong scenes, I DON’T LIVE THERE. Sorry to those that do but think about it, what you guys are saying makes no sense. If Graphf wants to call that period the dark ages becuase the scenes were small where he lived, then honest to god he has every right to say so. It’s not like this guy lived in Japan or some shit bitching that GG wasn’t popular enough. Stop making it seem important when it really isn’t. If I said that Anime is dead on TV, would you come at me saying that they still air in Japan? Come on son.

“capcom did a good”

I stopped reading there

I don’t live in America.

Online sound bug speaks for itself.

Edit: To clarify, while the bug itself is really bad, the fact that they knew about it and released the game anyway is a thousand times worse, and just what has to be expected of capcom these days, and that’s my grief here.
The fact that people still go out and buy this crap, and then white-knight on message-boards doesn’t help either.

It may not be a huge flaw to you, and it’s not a huge flaw to me personally either (unlike the complete trainwreck all these “small” flaws add up to), but I know it is a dealbreaker for many people who were specifically looking forward to it, and feel cheated about not being told it’s not going to happen before laying down their money.

And yes, as customers we DO deserve a better grade of product than the repackaged shit capcom have been feeding us. What the fuck is going on in a world where consumers think they don’t deserve better than half-assed…smh. People are voting with their wallets and bad propaganda, they can’t all be wrong.

Very good that you’re happy with your purchase, though.

I live in Brazil. Speak for yourself.

And me and a lot of ther people did not lived under a rock to miss some great games in the past ten years. Shame that you did not widened your horizons back then.

Also, it is not like everyone in the USA ignored some great games either.

Online sound doesn’t speak for shit. You put rollback into a game, expect stuff to go missing. I didn’t buy this game for online play, and yet the online performance of the game is still superior other Capcom games, sound notwithstanding.

Releasing a game with bugs is not half-assery. It’s called an acceptable risk. Every. Business. Does. It. Products will be released with bugs that couldn’t be fixed on schedule, otherwise resources within the business cannot be freed up to work on other projects. Capcom has more on it’s plate than SFxT.

I’ve never heard of a single person outside of SRK who was looking forward to couch co-op.

Repackaged? More than half the roster in this game is entirely new and built from the ground up. The returning characters are changed and altered. Nothing is repackaged.

Sound bug already was addressed and (obviously) will be fixed in time.
Besides that, what are the huge, ridiculous flaws that are preventing you from enjoying this game?

Uh…congratulations?

When talking about Capcom, it’s usually referred to as “their business model”.
Name one game they’ve released (ever!) that wasn’t miles behind current standards in basic functionality (menus, lobbies, replay viewers (if any)).
That’s not even touching gameplay yet. I’m not going to go there, I don’t have 2 years to list all the obviously retarded shit in even just their recent games.

Then, apparently, you haven’t been paying attention on here, other FG sites, amazon reviews, etc.

Really? It appears to be SF4 with a handful of new character-models, stages and a modified engine. Not that that, in itself, would’ve kept me from buying.

To be perfectly honest, at this point the combined…shittiness of everything that’s surfaced so far (how long has the game been out?) has already put me off so much that I’m not even considering picking up a used copy of the game. I’m not going to pay 20 dubloons extra so I can play all characters, I don’t wanna play with PTW gems, I can’t play online properly because of sound until it’s fixed, I can’t play online with friends, the graphics are ASS (I’ve had quite enough of the sf4 engine at this point, tyvm), the highly intriguing battle plan of “jab jab crossup jab jab repeat” is more than stale now, balance is…yea. I could go on.

First and foremost, buying this crap, with their DLC actually starting to have an impact on gameplay, is leading down a slippery slope. It’s ruined other genres, it’s going to ruin this one, too.

So you are just a hater. Because this is obviously not true.
Miles behind? Games like Marvel vs Capcom 3 didn’t even have a replay mode in vanilla.

What I got from this thread is that the OP is happy with his purchase, one can not like or dislike the game without a huge debate of semantics of what company did something years ago or just yesterday, and SRK being a mainly a “Capcom Fighter” site is bad, might as well shit on Dustloop and TYM for being fighting game dedicated websites while we’re at it.

That is my point, exactly. A game released just a year ago didn’t even have this functionality while it’s been possible for a long time. WTF.

I am not just a hater, I would’ve liked having a new game to play. Unfortunately capcom never seizes to disappoint. Anyway, I’ll stop “hating” in here now.

Whining about the sound messing up in online mode is like whining about the smell in heroes & heralds mode. At least in my eyes that is.

The only one preventing you from having a new game to play is yourself =)

So I’m really liking the strategies I’m starting to see with team building, this game has ridiculous depth. I’ve seen some awesome team ideas so far and were not even close to scratching the surface of whats possible yet.

Vega/Heihachi- use Vega’s long range pokes to harass and then chain into heihachi for big damage, then switch cancel back into vega for more damage. This is awesome because heihachi while very good at damaging isn’t a top dog when it comes to footsies due to his walk speed, vega on the other hand is one of the best at footsies in this game so its basically using synergy to fix problems two of the characters have.

I’m also really feeling the footsie game in SFxT, especially now that I know how to AA properly, its all risk to reward and maximizing your damage on the fly, a lot of emphasis on meter management as well. Its a nice balance between SF4 where you got to make a lot of mistakes and UMVC3 where you get to mess up once and its GG for your character.

Idk what to feel about gems, its cool that the dial a gem thing is coming soon so we can start trying to implement them in tournaments but I haven’t really found much use outside of the basic ones which don’t seem to effect balance as much as people are saying. The assist gems are stupid, anyone who says otherwise doesn’t realize how much of a waste one meter is in this game.
