Well, Spidey and Wolverine are roughly on the same level in action, but looking strictly at their power sets, the only thing Wolverine has going for him is his ability to heal. As far as strength, speed, reflexes, and other options, Spidey outclasses him on all fronts. Spider sense warns him of danger almost psychically, and he definitely has the reflexes to avoid anything Wolvie throws at him. And Spidey can definitely throw a good punch capable of knocking out Wolvie. Yeah, it’s true that all Wolvie needs to win is to land a hit, but that’s really all Spidey needs to win, too, but the thing is, Spidey is a lot more likely to get that hit. And that’s not even taking into account his webbing, which gives him a pretty considerable ranged advantage. In action, though, Spider-Man’s always holding back because he doesn’t have a killer instinct, so he won’t be going for a big hit, but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna stand around there. There was a time he took on all the X-Men, and pretty much made utter fools of them without really doing anything other than swinging around and throwing some webbing here and there. Of course, the X-men really didn’t wanna hurt Spider-Man either, but still, the fact that they couldn’t touch him for anything really shows how agile he is. That’s why I put him above Wolverine in my list.
If somebody has the strategy guide floating around they have ‘official’ stats for all the characters in MvC3. As I remember it, Ryu is Faster, Smarter, Stronger, and Tougher than Wolverine. Aside from his Chi powers, he’s like a perfect human being.
My point being the official power rankings are hilarious.
Those power rankings were shit only because Marvel used their real, official character stats while Capcom just threw darts at a dartboard. Example: intelligence of 2 is “normal” intelligence for humans on the Marvel power chart, max level is omnipotent IIRC. Like Storm. She’s not a genius or anything, but she’s not stupid. She has 2 intelligence. Arthur has 4 intelligence. We have never even seen him display a genius level intellect lol. I think Ryu had like, a 4 and he is a hobo fighter that doesn’t even have a proper education.

There needs to be less “Because X beats Y Therfore he/she’s better” the circumstances of plot often cause this to be sketchy unless its pretty obvious. Like Wolverine beating Deadpool.
Wesker does not teleport, he just moves at blinding speeds which if he’s moving so fast to the point you can’t see him until he gets to his destination, how fast is he moving exactly if the human eye can’t even track him? I wish we got more showcase of New Wesker’s strength, he sat in lava with Ourobouros and was trying to bring down a helicopter. Yet he can pierce through the human body with no problem and put his entire arm through Chris (TY dying in a RE5 cutscene)

Zero has a new body in MMZ, which his mind/programming/soul/whatever-you-want-to-call-it was transferred to. In MMZ3 Zero fights and destroys the original Zero which is controlled by the Omega program at the time, meaning the new Zero is actually stronger than the original unless Zero’s combat skills far outmatched Omega’s, which is possible considering Zero had been doing nothing but fighting for hundreds of years. He’s still not on the level of gods like Ammy - he can (and does) die - but he could certainly hold his own against someone like Wesker, especially when you consider that Dr. Weil is basically a cyborg Wesker. Zero dies while defeating Weil, but if anything that probably puts him about equal with Wesker.
When talking about canonical tier and power ranking, it’s typically best to leave gameplay out of the element, because naturally, if the in game mechanics were exactly like how they were in the cutscenes, quick time events, and general story, then you really wouldn’t get much of a fun game. Much like how in comics, if everyone was fighting at 100% all the time, most of the fights would be one page long, and the rest of the story would be boring.
As for Galacus, they wouldnt have made him the main boss if he wasnt obviously more powerful than the rest of the cast.
As for Phoenix, it took Rachel Summers empowered with the Phoenix Force tapping into the future life force potential of the universe just to drive off Galactus, not kill or defeat.
Sadly hes become something of a joke character, losing to people that have no business even challenging him winning because of “Plot”

Not really, no. Those who control magic also have the opportunity to control spirits. How else do you think Voodoo magic works in the Marvel series?
If only the Punisher is in the game, he would be the top since he ‘killed the marvel universe’ (ok, another ghetto what-if, but it’s funny and stupid as hell how he did it)
Still, I’ve always wondered why Magneto just doesn’t just form a giant adamantium sphere around him and crush everyone. As silly as that is, it’s should be pretty effective against most of the xmen at the very least. 
As for spiderman, even though he packs a punch (10 ton is NOT a lot in Marvel standards), his (relatively) low durability puts him at a huge disadvantage against someone with healing factor. His spider sense only works as well as his considerable agility, which is enough for him to say, jump out of the way when someone is shooting at him, but it’s definitely not fast enough for him to stand there and dodge bullets Matrix-style. Not to mention his spider sense doesn’t do jack when he’s in the middle of pouncing someone (which he loves to do, and always gets owned for doing it).
There’s a reason spidey’s rogue gallery is filled with minor villains like the Vulture and Chameleon, and not Apocalypse and Juggernaut. (no point bringing up the avengers since everybody is marvel is in it lol)
