As someone that loves the hell out of Okami and only just learned the canon of Darkstalkers from this thread sadly, well, wouldn’t Morrigan be above Amaterasu?
Ammy, as presented in the game, is a sun goddess, able to manipulate the elements, turn day into night, and the a few reality-altering things like instant sword slashes and making bombs & lilipads and whatnot.
As wide open as all that is, nothing she’s done has ever been truly cosmically powerful. It’s all been very terrestrial based

The only SF character that is a tier higher is Akuma, due to him transcending humanity.
But still I think he’s pretty much screwed when hit by bullets.

Nah, Morrigan’s powerful all right. It’s just a shame that we never actually get to see this power in-action, so we have to take Capcom’s word for it. Right now, she’s basically one of those people that’s really good at something, yet doesn’t care enough to pursue it.

Haggar and Ordinary Joe’s should be god tier. How many fatal attacks do they just shrug off and proceed to the end of the level with?

Yea, I’m aware of that and the fact that she’s good at her job, which is being an agent of a secret organization. With her skill and gadgets, she could probably take down Sakura or Cammy easy (the latter she did in the movie I believe), maybe even give Balrog, Hakan or Rufus a run for their money, but Mike Haggar? I’m not buying it. I used comparison to compare the character’s strengths, not their status. Haggar has lots of fighting experience. He dishes out pain just as much as he can take it. You really think Viper can handle Haggar’s brute strengths and slams, and get up to fight some more?
In a one-sided fight, I could see Viper winning if she’s the only one doing the hitting, but if they’re trading blows, it’d definitely be in Haggar’s favor as Viper has no experience in getting pummeled.
She should give Hank Pym a call.

Also Wesker is a f’n genius, he knows bio enginering etc.
In RE5 he can actually catch rockets you shoot at him.
Sure Ryu can dodge bullets too, but after that Wesker is already standing next to you and punching you in the gut.

Capcom? Morrigan, Dante, and Ameterasu should be top tier, bottom is Wright, Chris and Haggar
Marvel? Phoenix tops all, depends on whether you talking about just Jean-Grey or the Phoenix Force itself, because PF is like, stronger than celestial super-god level, I mean at one point she held the universe in her hands or something like that? Then probably Strange, Dormy and Shuma, bottom of Marvel is Definetely sentinel, though Storm and mags should be higher. Hulk should be maybe 1 higher.

You must remember that Doctor Strange struggles a lot to defeat Dormmamu, and Shuma Gorath. He has mention in a lot of stories that they are his superior, and that he defeated them by outsmarting them. They never touch the Earth’s realm, if they do…they win. Most of the time Doctor Strange is preventing them from ever touching Earth. He is also responsible for Doctor Strange’s decline in recent comics. Like Hood was fighting the New Avenger when Dormmamu was using Hood as his pawn.
Galactus is one of the most powerful beings in the universe, he is apart of the cosmic compass. You know the top 5 cosmic being in the 616 Universe. In theoryfighter anyway. He jobs(lose) a lot when he shouldn’t. [/details]

-Dark Phoenix isn’t really at her most powerful form, she is just host of the Phoenix Force. MVC3’s portrayal of her is just when she is controlled by the Phoenix Force. When Jean died, she merged with the Phoenix Force making her as powerful as the entity itself. The Phoenix Force doesn’t just destroyed whole planets either. It’s much more than that even when you consider the entity’s power.
-The Normal Phoenix could be consider like a herald of Galactus, and Magneto could beat Phoenix. And Magneto has. Look it up in Google.
-Hulk, Thor are in the heavy Hitters because they could has/have beaten everybody beyond here or people even at this tier list. Hulk is retarded, and his current comics display how stupid he is. He isn’t at his angriest all of the time, he has different levels of rage. Thor has beaten a host of the phoenix force before.
-Doctor Strange is in this tier because he isn’t really consider a cosmic entity. He isn’t really portrayed to be beyond Thor or Hulk at all. [/details]

-You could argue that Nova should be higher, but I don’t think he can beat the people of the above IMO. Maybe Magneto, but that’s it. He is on par with Ghost Rider, Doctor Doom, Super Skrull,etc.
-Doctor Doom can’t beat the above tier because he needs some resources from his lab. His Current Armor is equal with Iron Man, but his magic gives him the edge over Iron Man. His magic isn’t really as great as many think. Doctor Strange is vastly more powerful than him, and there are other magicians that more powerful than Doom. Doom would still lose without creating counter measures for Magneto/Hulk/etc. Magneto has countered attempts to weaken his power as well.
-Super Skrull is still on par with Doctor Doom, but he is technially suppose to be more powerful than the F4 combined…in theory. Not in practice, however he is still currently display the ability to use all of the F4 powers at once.
-Iron Man has beaten a lot of people that are completely out of his weightclass. Which is why he is here. He has fought Doctor Doom in a equal footing when Doom doesn’t have magic.
-Ghost Rider has a heavy potential that was shown in comics to be him in this tier as well. He could slice skyscappers, and to pulling airplanes down.
There would be a lot of close matchups in this tier list, IMO.
Obviously Superhumans tier: MODOK,Spider-man

IMO nobody below here are really blatantly obvious superhumans, or really above martial artist in my opinion. MODOK, and Spider-man have many abilities that put them in this tier. Spider-man has been in consider at his own tier list compared to Martial Artists. MODOK’s new upgrade look gave him new abilities.

IMO, they guys are often consider to be the top best Martial Artists in the world. Wolverine is up there because of his strength/speed/healing/etc. Either way, they are the top tier Martial Artists.
Mid tier Martial Arists: Hawkeye, Taskmaster, X-23, Deadpool, Rocket Raccoon

-Deadpool could be higher, but it’s not clear to me if Deadpool has superhuman phyiscal stats. In theory he does, but I don’t think it’s Wolverine’s retardo strength. I don’t believe he is a top tier marital artist.
-X-23 kind of should be higher because her abilities, but I don’t remember her being as dominate/skilled as Wolverine is. Wolverine has great showings aganist Iron Fist and Captain America. He is the best there is for a reason.
-Taskmaster isn’t actually as skilled as Captain America or Iron Fist. Taskmaster couldn’t beat Wolverine. He doesn’t part take in their training, and he just looks at their individual moves.
-Hawkeye isn’t really beating the above tier, but he has fared pretty well aganist Taskmaster and Captain America. He has always been a mid tier martial artist.
-Rocket Rocoon isn’t really “Bottom tier” because of the bullshit gadgets that he has.

Pretty much how I see it.
Capcom seems to consider Darkstalkers in general to be a league above humans. I came across an interview about the development of Vampire Hunter where they said that the reason they made Donovan a Dhampyr was because from a story standpoint a human wouldn’t have a chance at winning against Darkstalkers in battle. They then mentioned that they decided that even being a Dhampyr alone wasn’t enough, which is why he also got a magical sword.
I know Iron Man’s placement is a bit iffy, but he’s there mainly because he consistently beat Dr. Doom and Magneto when they clash, usually because failing would generally equal death for Tony. Beating Dr Doom only once is one thing, but beating him consistently just means that IM is just that good.
As far as I know, Iron Fist’s main power is his mastery of martial arts and chi, which is strong enough to level a mountain. That said, the rest of the brawlers either have healing factor, being next to impossible to hit, or has a vibranium shield, not to mention they’re all masters in their own fighting styles. Wolverine gets the cake because his adamantium skeleton plus healing factor practically makes him impossible to kill by the rest of the brawlers, while someone like x23 and deadpool are completely neutralized if you cut off his limps and dont give them back to him to reattach.
Come to think of it, we should expand this tier list to include cast from previous games…so we don’t have phoenix fighting for the top spot (/saaaaalt)
Uber super duper beyond god tier: Thanos with infinity gauntlet
Iron Fist has magical Iron Fist powers from somewhere that he has been able to channel into super-speed, enough durability to take a direct hit from a speeding train filled with explosives, and drastically accelerated healing when necessary. He can throw hadokens (seriously) and is also master of like every martial art ever made.

You guys shouldn’t underestimate the Street Fighters… didn’t Sakura’s opening state that her training regimen is “100 laps around the deck, 500 push ups, 500 pull ups (the most impressive part and guarantees some degree of superhuman strength), 500 sit ups and 800 squats”? I think most of the Street Fighters have some degree of superhuman attributes.

I know Morrigan is extremely powerful but still, Sun. She’s a “planet cracker”? Let’s see her crack the Sun. Her existence threatens reality? The Sun ends that existence right quick. We can argue about how godlike Morrigan is even though the video games don’t show it but remember that there’s a reason why we aren’t allowed to draw the sun anywhere we want in Okami: it’s counter-productive to completely annihilate Nippon when you’re supposed restore it.
Goddess > god-like.
The Sun keeps us alive but there’s a reason why it’s ~93 million fucking miles away from us.
My two cents on the Marvel side: Dormammu’s and Shuma’s status is pretty definitive even if Strange beat them before.
