Like half the current xmen cast are “omega” now. Hell psylocke is classed as an omega level telepath who can crush a mountain by thinking about it. But omega level abilities are never shown. So I have to agree that I put storm slightly lower even though she has “omega” powers.
It’s important to actually look at the context of whatever plot armor’s actually going on. If certain circumstances make it so a character can do a certain thing, then that character can probably do that same thing again, but only under those circumstances. That’s why we have different versions of characters like World War Hulk, Odin Force Thor, Captain Universe Spidey, etc. And on that note, don’t forget to look at the story itself. Characters grow over time, and with growth comes certain changes and developments. Spidey’s web shooters haven’t consistently malfunctioned for decades. He’s also not a kid in high school/college, so he’s gained a lil’ experience with certain things. Just recently he took martial arts lessons from Shang Chi, so now he has a better understanding on what fighting’s about. So for him to be making the same rookie mistakes he did when he was 15 would actually be inconsistent with what’s the current norm. Again, you’re looking at everything and using common logic to make the informed decision. Reading things in the context that it’s given, and then comparing it to all the other things that have been written, the line between what’s normal and what’s not is as plain as day.
That’s where the common sense thing comes in. You take the average of what’s been done as a basis and use common sense to sort out the rest. If someone wins because of luck, then common sense tells you, if he didn’t get lucky, he woulda lost. If someone wins because the other guy was sick, then common sense tells you that if he wasn’t sick he woulda won. If something odd happens to make the story interesting, you look at the story to see what’s going on to make it that way. It’s really not a hard or complicated thing to do. The only requirement is simply following comics and not being fanboy about only the guys you like.
Honestly, I see ignoring it and counting it as a small instance ultimately boiling down to the same thing. The stupid stuff that happens is actually so few and far in between that it might as well be ignored anyway, but I definitely hear what you’re saying.

Actually there are only 8 confirmed Omega level mutants: Legion, Elixir, Kid Omega, Ice Man, Jean Grey, Gabriel Summers, Rachel Summers, and Hope Summers. Also Psylocke is nowhere close to Omega level, she’s just an A grade telepath and telekenesis user who can’t use both powers effectively at the same time.
Well see we are tiering the characters thats in the game on a sort of comic book level. Not what they have done over the years. If that were the case where we just tier the characters overall with the amazing shit they’ve done over the years. Well, DMC2 Dante pretty much owns everybody except for Shuma, Strange Ammy, and Dormammu. Dante got to such an impressive level of power he might as well be a God himself. Defeating Mundus, and other things that top even that. Then imagine if he didnt give the Sparda sword to Trish and kept it in while in DMC2? -_- He’s pretty much his father on Crystal Meth.
Dante has literally not tried and has sandbagged storyline wise after DmC1.

Don’t forget that Nova at the state of him dying was a planet buster as well. And depending on which Omega level mutant. Say Franklin Richards, Vulcan, or Nate Grey. All three of those have shown to be more of universe for Franklin case, and galactic for the other two, maybe universe for Nate before depowered. Nate before he was depowered had a recorded power level on the same level as Dark Phoenix. Vulcan high as well since he can manipulate all energies.
EDIT: 11 Omega level. Iceman, Vulcan, Nate, Jean, Hope, Elixir, Mr. M, Kid Omega, Rachel Summers, and franklin Richards. Omega class refers to the strongest of strongest alpha level telepaths(Xavier, Emma, Psylocke)

Now that I’d read more about Iron Man’s “abilities” (or rather, his armor and stuff), he’s definitely up there with Doom. His regular weapons have more raw power than Doom’s, and he’s like Batman, always with an special armor designed to fight someone.

im not gonna go over everybody but here are the key points of this list and why it is how it is. Dante is omega rapeface tier he has feats showing that in any and all situations he will win by either timestopping or reacting to or regenerating from what ever you plan to do not to mention in dmc4 some of his strength feats are retarted superman level. Ammy almost made a tier i mean sure shes a god but obviously gods in her universe are very weak and dont mean much. but i digress her feats are really good. A tier i wouldnt say rape s b tier anything below packs its bags and hits the lights on the way out. B tier is for ppl obviously above C tier but could not compete with the a tier in any way. the other Darkstalkers are here not because they have a whole bunch of canonical feats (they really dont ) but because the power levels in there universe are generically high enough to give them the benefit of the doubt, Ctier is for the peak level human / lower levels of super strength and D Tier is reporter / lawyer tier FRAAAAAAY.
Marvel is admittedly harder at certain points due to inconsistent writing hence why certain tiers are bigger and c tier is skipped altogether. also note that this tier list is pretty much ordered and that the tiers themselves are not marking a huge divide between the top of say b tier and the bottom of b+ tier. Now for god tier though i didnt put phoenix above the othe marvel heavy hitters there because she has been bested and her main draw is being able to come back to life (which admittedly is a power any character can have as long as they are popular enough :D) im not taking that away from her im just throwing that out. the bottom of a tier was tought for me just because storm has another form (Omega storm if i recall correctly) that puts her past omega levels and also magneto has shown at times the ability to control all matter but if i were to put them higher based on single instance upper level feats then im pretty sure thor with runes/odin force and all that jazz owns the list free as well as a few other change ups so i decided to op for general strength levels. i also had to note that skrull spiderman and wolvie are clearly above the rest of the b tier by making them b +.the rest is pretty much ordered
6 in intellect, strength, durability, energy projection, 5 in speed, 3 in fighting skills…compared to say, Doom, IM has 2 more strength and 1 less fighting skill.

because the list overrates physical prowess: Spd/Str/Stam/Fight all kind of overlap. Mages and such just get projection, which energy weapons can handle anyways.
Also, nova isn’t very special, he kind of has the default superpower package. He’s iron man + space flight and different special effects.
I still don’t see how people can think DP and Dorm are anywhere close to Shuma Gorath…Dr. Strange shits his underwear whenever someone even alludes to him.
And SF characters are much too high. Akuma is he only one who should even be out of R.A.N.(Regular Ass Nigga) tier. Ryu was shown getting his ass BUSTED in the opening movie. Dude was near death. Akuma can still be beaten by normal humans as well as Gouken has busted his ass twice.
