This as the low point in the weekend for me personally, and it was outside of the great stream, great commentary, great matches and great venue and great organizers. It came form the stream monsters. Gootecks brings on the Juri and Cammy cosplay young women. I did NOT see the stream chat because i was watching it on my TV via my PS3 but I could imagine what was said. One comment on eventhubs said someone looked like a “tranny”. The Cammy seemed to take it in stride but the Juri was clearly hurt by the chat to the point she was almost crying. The stream monsters clearly kept on going though. She even took the aviators off of the cosplay Guile for a but to cover her eyes/welling tears.
I understand some of the stream monsters are TRYING to be satirical, funny etc etc but its getting out of hand now when things went this far. Their attempt at humor, was a fail. Maybe some of them are 14 year old immature kids or maybe some of them are 34 year old virgins. I dont know. Some of them did ask intelligent questions (how long have you been doing this, how long did it take your make your costume etc etc etc), as i can tell when the Guile read them on the air, but I just had to say something on this. I dont post that much. A GREAT weekend marred by stream monsters/e-thugs.

- speaking of wins. Mago’s shirt was gdlk. the back said something along the lines of “in a battle only one survives and…” then on the front of the shirt it said “Wins”
- Daigo totally sandbagging Mago the entire tournament. he never revealed Guile as his counter pick to Fei Long until the grandfinals. he never even busted out his Guile in the High Rollers Tourney against Mago. what a smart smart man.
- so awesome when Justin got the entire room to chant CA-NA-DA! hahaha

Hey guys, finally had some time to sit in front of the computer for the shout outs. I just had one of the craziest weekend of my life! It was filled with excitement, pressure, shit talk, drinking, and getting high! It has been a pleasure to finally meet the west coast players and experience what the scene is like there. k, i’ll get the shoutouts started:
STC: Thanks to all my teammates back at home for their supports and encouragements; we proved once again we are the best SF players in Canada. Thanks once again to co-captain Chi-rithy for giving me the plane ticket.
MTLSF: Thanks for all the text msgs and long distance calling just to chant out “STC” to pump me up! I reminded myself every day this weekend that I’m representing MTL also this tournament, I cannot let you guys down! *but drop the hate with west coast, they’re friendly, competitive players too.
TOSF HQ crew: Thanks for the week of training before Calgary, it really got me ready for this tournament.
West Coast: it was nice seeing/meeting many of you. There’re too many names to name off, but thanks for all the supports throughout the tournament, all the weed/beers @ Tubbydogs. (I got owned hard in drinking by u guys) I definitely wanna come back some day and i’ll see some of you there at T12!

sorry to everyone else that I forgot to mention… i’m still really tired/burnt out from the tournament. I hope from this tournament, Canada will step up and be more motivated to do good in the future! we did make some results this tournament, but it’s not enough if we want to be one of the best SF countries in the world. If we communicate and compete more amongst ourselves, i’m sure one day no one can look down on us!
PS. Team Spiral Guy’s Fanclub is the #1 Canadian placer in team tournaments! Good shit team mates!

We am sorry that if we missed anyone, its been a long weekend. I was really happy how the event was executed, 212 People for Ssf4 in 4 pools was ran in 4-5 hours (that was amazing). It was great that we had a chance to get Daigo and Mago for a interview. When I talked to Daigo and he said that the event was ran on a pro level and he had no idea that Canada can hold tournaments like that. Once again shout outs to all the staff that made it happen and Daigo, Mago are looking forward to coming to any Canadian events now. For Canada Cup 2011 it will be much bigger than this year, I hope we can get all of Canada’s top players at next years event. Thanks to Spooky for getting 14k viewers which I heard was more than any other SSF4 event except Evo. I understand that not all the best of Canada can make it this year, but for Canada Cup 2011 I will try and get together with all the Canada tournament organizers to see if we can gather most of Canada’s top players to 1 place. Justin Wong, Mike Ross and Gootecks thanks for coming to party with us I hope you guys can come down more often and I hope you enjoyed your time here. MTLSF thanks for sending down JS masters, he put on one of the best shows Canada has ever seen! I know I’ll be seeing more of him because he needs to get his drinking revenge
