Not too shabby mr Evo, AND you as far as the results in Canada Cup are concerned, you are best Canadian HD remix player.

lol damn right:)

That night at the salty suite was the only time at the tourny that I had some rest so I was playing a lot better. Oddly enough losing to brian in single’s was probably a blessing cause I was able to run up to my room right afterwards and finally sleep lol.

I was running the HDR tourney and we only had 27 entrants. Frankly I think that alot of the better HDR players didn’t participate because it’s incredibly difficult to flip flop between HDR and SSF4.

Enigma Mount/Saint was at the tourney, but he chose not to play because he felt it would have fucked up his other games. I’m sure he could have easily bodied anyone other than JWong and Daigo.

He’s played alot of the Montreal crew on ggpo, including Jimmy Bones so you guys should know him.

Anyway, I got alot of feedback from those who did play and they all said they would have preferred classic ST. If we still play the game next year, maybe that’s what we’ll do.

Are you looking forward to improving your performance next year, and finally defeating Justin Wong, and Mr Daigo so that " you are the best"

Other than Daigo and Justin Wong, who do you see as your strongest opponents on HD Remix.

To all the haters in the East Coast why do you have to disrespect your fellow Canadians instead of supporting them on an amazing event. People have more in their lives then Street Fighter and fighting games in general so who cares if a few people look “free”. Stop caring about what others think but if you guys are so concerned about the Canadian scene then do something about it. Do something to help the scene level up. Also, for people bitching about where this event took place and the name of the event the tournament organizers had the goal of just making an event to represent Canada against some of the best in the world. Everyone here had 3+ months in advance to work out there cash and time schedules and if you can’t justify the cost or work out your schedule it’s not the tourney organizers responsibility to rename the event or push it back. Other people have schedules and lives as well. Everyone who attended from the East Coast had a good time so I don’t understand why all the hate when it’s completely unwarranted. If your not willing to do anything to improve the situation then don’t even bother commenting.

ME clearly I am the best there is, the best there was, and the best that there ever will be http://ui29.gamespot.com/1628/qiorilaugh_4.gif

I just want to say thanks for everyone over at the Canada Cup, the event was AMAZING. This was my first big SF tourney and being able to film and document the event was a great experience.

We were able to get interviews with Daigo, Mago, JS Master, JWong, Gootecks, Mike Ross and Lap Chi all shot in our impromptu hotel room studio. I’m super excited about the whole documentary.

Before he even had a chance to play him Mago stated that JS was the one he was most worried about, Sunday morning I walked up to JS and told him that just before the team tournament and then he goes on to OCV the entire Team Japan… sick!

I got to put a lot of faces to names and generally just enjoy myself. There was definitely one scary moment when I think I stepped on a cord going from the xbox to the TV and the monitor died… whew I just about had a hear-attack but I got it plugged back in and no harm done.

At least it wasn’t during a match!

Tubby Dogs was intense, Lap Chi is a killer when it comes to putting guys under the table, JS master was completely done, sleeping under the pinball machine but not before Mago passed out and had to be carted away to safety haha

Everything ran so smoothly, I barely had time to grab a bite to eat between matches. Thanks to Gootecks, Mike Ross and Justin Wong for your interviews and everyone should be on the look out for some Canada Cup excellent adventures tactics, you gotta watch out for that Team US.

Got some photos online here (our hotel room studio): CanadaCup - a set on Flickr

thanks also to Jim_Kim for reppin manitoba and chillin’ glad everything went well, can’t wait for EVO Japan if anyone is going to make it out there this spring, let me know me and my documentary crew will be there filming and we’d love to talk to you!

I’d just like to say that if Team Spiral Guys Fanclub > Team Japan

Then Spiral Guy > Japan

The logic is undeniable.

wait isnt Spiral Guy Japanese

head explodes

The SPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYRALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GUY!

And all the organizers of the Calgary Cup, sorry I don’t know names besides Lapchi, but it was a very good show for all the stream monsters. Please don’t take the EC seriously, the majority of the people you’re beefing with are super chill. Most of them just felt the Canadian representation was weak, and while I do agree to some respect, it’s silly to squabble over a name like the calgary cup right?

As usual, amazing job Eric on beating team Japan, and everyone in America in the tourney. And thanks for the double shoutout, now I have a reason to watch the documentary  Don’t quit now, ride your 15 minutes+ of fame as long as you can.

To Johzear, I kinda wish you lost more so I could see Scott play, but pretty good vega.

Anyways, start saving soon, because EC will be hosting our versions of the Canada cup soon enough. And it wouldn’t be fair to just not show up right ?

I personally love HDR but I retired to play to SSF4, to be perfectly honest I was abit worried about switching it up between the 2 games too but it didn’t matter anyways. Between the lack of sleep and the control issues I was doomed anyways so I figured"might as well" lol.

Shin: I certanly am looking forward to next year in terms of my performance, IMO I did terrible at SSF4 this year. As far as HDR is concerned I know there are a lot of awesome Canadian players around so hopefully I can be ready for them by next year.

Thats right Calgary Cup, Canada Cup is just a name. You can call your event Canada nationals SF if you want. I will try to make it down and get some of our players to come to what ever major you east coast dudes are hosting. Hope you guys like to party b/c Albertans are animals.

Keep in touch.

I’ll be bringing back the name of my yearly tournament

Western Canadian Championships haha

Article 1 of 2 is completed: The Interviews with some of the top players.

The Men, The Myths, The Legends at SNK-CAPCOM

Second article should be up by tomorrow.

Nice interviews, Ra’id.

btw are the high rollers tourney recorded? if so will there be vids up?

PS. Is there anyway I can still get a Canada shirt some how? I was so drunk in the after party that I left my shirt in Tubby Dogs… lol didn’t realize it until i got home. I will pay for the s&h if its possible for me to still get the shirt…
thanks.

This.
We’re not the US, we have to set an example that we don’t have those childish hissy fits of EvW.
There shouldn’t be any East or West in Canada at all, only North.

Its recorded. It will be on Vesper Arcade eventually.

Just an FYI JS, that Honda player was from Newfoundland, not New Brunswick.

I’ll ask Greg, but there shouldn’t be a problem. We have quite a few shirts left. All we have are large and up though.
