Is there any game that doesn’t get hate?
I think it’s funny that everyone that posted what characters they were looking forward to playing were female characters. (Chibi, Lobelia, etc)…

Oh hell yes. Jun was my chick and the reason I play Asuka. I need to see Tag mode again. I have no idea why it hasn’t show back up. But seeing as TTT happened after the first 3 seeing the next one after 6 is plausible.
As far as the topic goes I don’t see why. It’s one of the easiest fighters to really get into IMO. And it’s one of the few fighting games that I know of that has someone for everyone. But where there’s love there is hate. So to each his own, I guess.
I’ve never really played Tekken since it’s only ever been on Sony Consoles. I had seen it being played however, and the air juggles just looked ridiculous to me. Moving across the whole arena punching some guy’s feet while he bounces in the air just doesn’t seem cool.
However, Tekken 6 is coming for 360 and I plan to buy it. I’m a fighting game fan and I’m going to give it a fair chance by playing it myself. Hopefully my first impression was wrong.
I’m gonna have to disagree take Armor King for example compare DR to TTT no comparison do the same with Yoshi, Wang and once again no comparison but keep on spreading those lies.
Yep. Explains why the tiers are different in every version. 
Ok, I understand the “love” for TTT, but remember that TTT was never intended to be a true Tekken. TTT is basically what MvC is to SF - it’s a spin-off, and Namco has said they don’t plan on making another TTT again.
However, T5DR =/= T6BR. The games are completely different, and both are fun, but I would have to say BR is fun-er, and even more balanced than DR.
I love SC too (hell, I playing SC when it was called Edge, I was there when GI.COM launched), but atm, I can’t say SC > Tekken because between the two, Namco puts a ton more effort into Tekken than SC, and it shows (character balance, game mechanics, promotion, etc.)
Seriously though, it’s not like Taki has had major changes since SC2 - they just kept adding stuff, and changing the properties on some. Namco’s done the same thing for every Tekken because long-term players don’t want major changes to their character, only minor tweaks (hence the separation of Jin and Devil Jin).
Christ. Scrubby lies. I play Lili (one of the strongest combo characters in BR) and Lars (another one), and because of damage scaling, there is no way two consecutive juggles will end the match when you’re at full life, especially a real match. I would have to be in rage mode, and nail two combos, one of them with a wall + corner combo follow up, to properly kill you.
And for me to get to rage, you should have been able to hand me my ass on a silver platter. Rage isn’t like an Ultra wherein you can “earn” it halfway through a match. You would have to be at sub-10% life to be in rage mode. So for me to successfully bait you, combo you, and then repeat (if you’re full on health)? Let me quote you again:

And don’t bring up Lili’s rage death combo. That never happens outside of a controlled environment.

So you’re saying Lars, Marduk, Xiaoyu, Jack, Bob, Zafina, Chreddy, Jin, Kaz, Hwoarang, Bears, etc. can all be played the same way? :rolleyes:
::EDIT:: You can’t say SC2 =/= SC4 because 4 is an evolution of 3 (the fixed version, which was an evolution of 2). SC4 was broke on accident (Hilde’s doom), and by way of experiment (projectiles such as Algol’s and Starkiller’s). It’s just like how T6 was broke on accident (Bob). But T6 was fixed (BR), and SC hasn’t… yet.
Also, on a per-character basis, Tekken does have more variety. Bruce =/= Bryan. Baek =/= Hwoarang. Kaz =/= Hei. SC has Shura >= Cervy, etc.
Not to derail this thread, but if Namco simply stopped adding one-off characters to SC, and focused instead on the gameplay, plus did a wee bit more promotion, SC would take off.
I don’t understand the argument, Street Fighter and KOF reoccuring characters also mostly play the same throughout each of there games.

Ok, I need to ask: In what way? Outside of Hilde and Algol shenanigans, how is SC4 that bad compared to SC2? I never understood the whining going on at 8WR. It’s not like SC4 has a T4 jin with an easy 2~1 infinite plus JFLS, parry, and 2,4 11f KND. Hilde’s doom combo takes a bit more brain power than that, and even then, simply hunting for a chance to do it will get you killed in high-end play, you still need to strat somewhat to get it in.
I mean fuck. If I saw Hilde walking around waiting for a chance to get that going, I’d have Sets’ 33B out in flash. 33B,swallow swipe,umbrella.
Of course, if I got baited into it… props to the player.
BR has 40 characters and none of them have the same moves (save for Mokujin, but even then, his size affects the moves’ attributes). Baek has to be played different from Hwoarang, because the setups, combos, priorities are not the same. Bruce is different from Bryan. No b+1, no df+3, no ff+2/4, no orbital. Hei has a HS that doesn’t KND on the first hit, no twin pistons, no CH d/f+2, and no d/b+4. The only thing he shares with Kaz and DJ is the EWGF, but that’s like saying Rock and Asta can be played the same way because they have similar sweeps. It’s a silly argument.
I can go on: No one plays like Paul. No one plays like Law (Lee is played completely different because of mist step), Julia and Leo are different (Leo has a proper sweep for setups, Julia none, but Leo doesn’t have Julia’s whiff punishers or throw setups), Lili plays completely different from anyone else, so does Raven. King and A.King aren’t even the same character at all. A.King has his WGF-style upper, King has… hop knee? Ganryu? Who the hell plays like Ganryu?
The two closest characters I can think of are Feng and Miguel, because of the way they punish, but they have two entirely different move sets, and playing Miguel from Feng will leave you in “WTF?” state for at least a week.
Now compare that to the SC clones (shura, etc.), and the shotokan’s from SF? 40 characters who don’t share much more than a jab and a generic UF~N+4 vs characters that share specials?
So yeah, I am serious.
::EDIT:: And please don’t say “but all you do is prance around waiting for a launcher all day” because that would be simplifying the argument so something akin to “but in SC, all you do is prance around and hunt for a RO all day” or “but in SF, all you do is prance around and hunt for an Ultra all day”. You know it’s not that simple.
Funny how we’re getting a “Why does everyone hate Tekken” after a “I don’t get why Tekken is loved” thread a few months back.
I thought we solved the problem in this thread a long time ago? Basically the only people who have never taken Tekken seriously are the ones who hate it, which is pure ignorance. Very few players have taken Tekken seriously and hated it, the ones who have are the players who respect the game but decided it didn’t fit their tastes. The level of unfounded hate and ignorance in this thread is astounding. It’s surprising to see how strongly people can feel about something they know nothing about.
At first my mind was too blown by the random fucking pictures, then I realized what you meant, and then I just cried laughing.
