Cammy's 'What went wrong' and 'Critique' video

I don’t call bad players scrubs. I call people who use ken and do the following:

Round 1

  • Jump back hadouken.
  • Hadouken
    -Hadouken
  • If opponent is close, flaming shoryuken.
  • If you get knocked down, flaming shoryuken.

Round 2:
Rinse and Repeat

When I loose to tactics like that, I just go… wtf? I really suck.

against those people, you just need to block alot, and wait for them to jump, so you can SC. C.HP for hurricane kick.

Against Bison, i just rush him down, what I do depends on what kind of Bison users. Because i see alot of different Bison sytle online.

Apologies, I didn’t mean that you were calling people scrubs, Seiku. It was more of just in general, but I see where you’re coming from.

Hey Power, It’s Sabrerockaway

Very good matches. The main focus when fighting Abel is patience. As you can see, Abel’s Marseilles Roll (aka Sexyroll) Has quite a bit of priority.

Also, WTF?! is up with Gen?!

I know right?! That was probably my ultimate wtf moment in this game so far.

As for scrubs… I love scrubs. Especially Shoto scrubs. More CP for me thank you.

I love fighting Blanka scrubs. Bison rapes them free.

Cammy eats Blanka scrubs pretty clean too.
Blanka does anything = SA/Super/Ultra
I like to get an early life lead on a bad Blanka and just turtle down for the rest of the game. Ahhhh hate mail…

Just for the record, I think of a scrub as someone who is just entirely too predictable (as in Seiku’s examples.) Not ALL bad players are scrubs, just the ones that refuse to learn anything from getting beat. Being able to adapt is key, and mindlessly mashing combos/dps just makes someone a target. I’ll even admit some aspects of my playstyle are still grounded in scrub-dom.

I noticed you didn’t really use throws very often, it seemed like everytime you did a cannon strike, you followed it with a string of lks, which he usually blocked or countered. I’ve found that after a blocked cannon strike, you have 3 effective mixups.

  1. A blockstring
  2. A Cannon Spike (preferably FADC’d if you have meter)
  3. A throw

By mixing these three things up, you turn it into a guessing game, which can definitely keep them on their toes. Being predictable is one of the worst things you can do.

Also, EX Cannon strike stuns longer, giving you a better chance of a combo. A combo that I like to use often is EX Cannon Strike, cr. HP, cr. MK xx HK Spiral Arrow, but be sure to make sure you hit confirm the cr. HP before you finish the combo, or else you’ll get punished hard.

Also, a few random hooligans here and there can catch people off guard, as long as you don’t abuse them.

By the way, the CS FADC Ultra, was nice. I’d like to do it, but on a controller, it’s damn near impossible. I can sometimes do it in training mode, but haven’t pulled it in a match.

Okay! Here goes nothing! All of you excellent cammys can feel free to add me to help me improve. I’ll be posting some more vids in the future hopefully in better quality. Oh yeah, and I’ll be losing in them. But for now whaddaya think?

Hey SoL,

Just saw both of your videos. First off, I don’t think you’re a bad Cammy. I noticed maybe 3 things in your videos that I would change. I’m no pro, but just another perspective.

  1. Jump in Cannon strike -> Medium Punch? If I remember correctly, you did that a couple of times. I would suggest something else. If the medium punch gets blocked, you can’t do anything about it. If you get DP’d, you get Dp’d. Don’t know if it can beat out a throw… I’d suggest either a TKCS if the opponent is throw happy, a grab, or just block if the opponent likes to DP. So I think this could be changed.

  2. Oki game. When you knocked down either of the two, I don’t remember you putting on the pressure. Cammy has some pretty awesome mixups if you ask me. Good throw, Hooligan, TKCS, heck even her CSpike -> FADC is good in those situations too. It’s amazing what a stressed out player does when they’re cornered. Think Rock, Paper, Scissors. Don’t forget about just getting (kind of) close and blocking, just incase they wakeup DP.

  3. Cr. MK-> SA. You did that move a lot. Be careful doing that if you know the MK isn’t going to hit. If the MK gets blocked, the SA will be blocked 95% of the time. So when you throw that out against good players, you’ll eat a combo at least 95% of the time you throw that out there. It’s a great bnb move, and don’t forget it! I just think a tick throw or a random blockstring would be better in most situations though.

So, that’s what I saw. If I had a ps3, I’d play you and give you more tips. I play an okay Ryu.

SirLoin027,

I didn’t see your post! Thanks for the tips. I did try to throw after a Cstrike in the first 5 or 6 matches, but I would eat his cr. lk into scissor kick. So i gave up on trying to grab in that match. The rest of the time, I was too afraid of his scissor kicks. I use the tkcs, cr. HP, cr. MK, SA a lot now, so even though I didn’t read your post, I’m working on what you said.

I had a rematch with KillyG about a week ago, and I think it was 3-8? While that’s still crap I am getting a little better. I stuffed his HK with my cr. MK, so it felt like a more even fight. They were all pretty close btw.

couple of my vids! the one with rose is from the weekend. I realised after watching or listening even that i tend to mash, now i’m tryin to cut that down. so the blanka vid from yesterday has barely any mashing in it now lol. critiques welcome.

and just for kicks this is what i used to play as lol. This was a very lucky match!

Hey thanks seiku. I’ll try to work all of your tips into my game. Sometimes I just get desperate to get that c.Mk>SA>super to connect, and it’s all I’m focused on even though I know its a no no :nono:! I just saw your fights with that Bison player. Good stuff. I can’t seem to get the best of a Bison that knows what he’s doing myself. It’s hard to get close without geting sucked into a string or being thrown. Oh well. Practice makes perfect…

Hey guys, thanks for all your input. I played KillyG a few nights ago, and I got 4-6!

So here’s my new problem: E.Honda. I have a harder time against this guy than even Boxer.

Sorry, I make a retarded laugh in part 3 :lame: It had something to do with one of my buddies in the party screaming like a little girl when he was playing against an Akuma.

I also have a few videos of my playing that Akuma.

This guy was great at Focus attacks. Do you guys see what I’m doing wrong? I feel like my play is pretty good, not a lot of SA or stupid moves…

I had quick watch of your Honda matches and the only things I immediately noticed were that the Honda was starting most of his rounds with that jumping punch (jp.HP?) and you never tried to predict that. Like maybe you could have started the round my dashing in and punishing if he tried it. Also he seemed to land a lot of jump in attacks on you through-out, I didn’t notice you cannon spike him or cr.HP him out of the air much.

Your Cammy looks excellent though, its hard to spot any weaknesses really, your execution is so solid, I think Honda is just a very bad match-up for her.

:wow: I didn’t even realize I wasn’t C.spiking. Maybe I should consider this matchup more like Gief?

thart Honda play like flowchart, not saying flowchart ken. He always do the same moves in the same situation. IF you study the video, you will know how to beat him couple games before he change ^^

After fry EX, MP fry Headbutt, he always jump up and hp. You can dash and cs him. After jump kick, he almost always do Hundred Hand Slap. He always do random Oicho on mid screen, SA or even random ultra can make him pay. He never do wake up EX Sumo Splash instead he does EX Headbutt.

I’d love to get input from you guys on my Cammy vs Gief from a tourney on Saturday. Any comments are appreciated. I know I messed up a lot of shit (there’s probably 1 or 2 wild CSpikes that were meant to be TK Strikes), but still, constructive criticism is welcome.

About halfway through this one, I switched from Guile.

In a day or so I’ll have one of me beasting a Ken and a Ryu beasting on me up too.

Edit: Here’s a more flattering one of me, lol :stuck_out_tongue:

A lot of the errant spikes in this one during his wakeup were TK Strikes I screwed up. Nerves I guess.

i’m not good against gief also. Not sure if this will help or not.

When fight gief, forget about FA. don’t use it’s the odd against you when using FA. you get lucky that time. There is a distance that you can do safe SA, but it’s a gamble. i failed alot of time.

Never jump HK at gief unless it’s at the end of his lariat. when he is close, you don’t want to sit there and do nothing. Poke him with mk and c.mk, same with other characters always poke him with something.

Any tips are appreciated man. And yeah, I’ve got to do something about my jumping problem, I traded or got hit a lot by lariat and that’s not exactly the best thing to do against Gief:sweat:

Here’s another vid of me, abuse at the hands of Ryu, I got pretty frustrated to say the least so you’ll see a lot of carelessness. Something I definitely have to work on when I face players at or above my level

There’s a couple times where I just stand there, my hand slipped since it was a tough elim fight. Needless to say I was pretty pissed at myself lol.

Killa Sasa: I noticed a couple of times you hit a focus attack then followed up with TK CS, HP, CS, but you were sitting on Ultra at the same time. A focus crumple is a free Ultra, might as well use it, and its a lot easier to execute than the combo.
