Cammy's 'What went wrong' and 'Critique' video

I was testing the SA on Sagat, the SA gets stuffed from the elbow. I got it to work really well against Blanka, but I’m afraid of crossing that guy up. I’ll test it more later.

The active frames on Sagat’s jump MP is gdlk. If you trade, you can dash Cspike FADC Ultra. Kind of hard to do though.

AHA! Looks like someone recorded my match against Hydro at the active gamers tournament. Like I mentioned, I really need to work on the blanka match.

Ouch, raped by that Blanka.

On the game note: That Blanka was pretty defensive oriented, you should also slow down and play defensive vs him. Blanka when played defensive like that is almost like playing against Guile. He has good normals and anti-air (EX Balls), so blindly rushing in vs a defensive Blanka is suicide (as in your case).

IMHO, a defensive Blanka is harder than Guile, since Blanka is quicker and have more mix up options than Guile. This is a good case to fish for Counter Hit Crouch HP, since that Blanka players used normals quite a bit, you need to understand his frame data and fish for it.

I think Cammy actually owns that match as long as you play with cautious pressure.

WTH happened there… Stein i’ve seen you in MUCH better matches… :sad:

couple of things i noticed:

  • high cannon strike (blocked) then followed with cannon spike… (i know blanka didnt punish you for it… but i had to mention it)… the problem here, a blocked cannon spike will give him more “range” and distant for him to charge his balls.

  • no bnb?? :looney: you havent preformed combos… weird… WEIRD!!.. i’ve seen you do all sorts of crazy combos with cammy… WTH :sad:

  • wakeup game… Blankas options on wakeup are really limited against cammy… all his reversals are BEATABLE!.. Cannon Spike beats all ball combination and electricity… meaty high lk strike works like a charm also (but loses to electricity)… Blankas who are familiar with the matchup will only throw or EX ball on wakeup against cammy (or block?)… (EX ball to go invisible and runaway of the said situation)…

  • cut down on FA against blanka… (armor breakers and reversal balls are painful)… FA is better aimed for his damn HP slide…

  • abuse air throw… beats his jumping attacks…

  • blanka lp ball, they charge and wait for you to be just outside the ball distant… and then he will either throw or electricity attack… you should’ve been prepared…!

  • ALL BALLS ARE PUNISHABLE ON BLOCK!.. Ultra or HK SA!.. so you wait, block, punish, then wakeup game mix up = win…

My tactic against Blanka is to turtle in the corner :angel: The most difficult thing about that match-up is his jump arc, I find it really tricky to punish his jump-ins on reaction.

I think you could have punished his ultra with your ultra there at the end of the last round Stein.

jumping lk and air throw pretty much all you need if CS is not viable in the situation… (if it cannot be done on reaction)…

crossup attempts (j.mk) can be cannon spiked… u can backjump air throw against crossups!!

i strongly believe that cammys got the advantage in this matchup…

Lol there aren’t any blanka players where I live. I noticed that weekend that I don’t have any real experience against Blanka. Online people don’t count.

i honestly dont know what to do on blankas wakeup if he has ultra. everything u can throw at him makes u eat full ultra :s

leaving him safe wakeup for half hp isnt a good idea when u cammy -.-

It won’t cost you half your hp to block his ultra, and you can punish him at the end with a cannon spike so its not totally safe (you might be able to punish with ultra too but the timing is tight). As long as you’re not stood right next to him on his wake-up you’ve got a good chance of landing a cannon spike while hes in the air.

nah nah dont get me wrong. what i mean is, on blanka wakeup i use to cstrike, cspike , sa or grab at random and since he hasnt a srk-like specials, that works a lot, but when he has the ultra, all i wrote above makes me eat full ultra so i can only just let him wakeup safe

when Blanka has ultra on wakeup, walk up block. Depending on your distance, you can block the first hit low, then cspike him out of his ultra. Or backdash and use your own ultra.

Oh I get ya. Yeah once he has ultra I just stay at least a sweeps distance away from him on his wake-up, no use risking anything.

i will walk forward and backward, just out of sweep range, and try to bait that wake-up ultra. even FADCb next to him on knock down to bait it as well.

if you have your ultra, its a free hit if you can bait it.

you can backdash cannon spike… or backdash ultra… if you are 1 step away from blanka… then jump air throw him!!..

I still make some errors (obviously). The first round felt really good though I got a bit predictable at the end. I didn’t deserve to win the second round. I think I got lucky a few times though perhaps I made my own luck by putting the fear of Cammy into him in the first round and making him jittery. Towards the end of round 2 I miss-entered an Ultra into an EX-Spike and ate a fireball which may have been lucky as as well because I think he may have been able to block my ult if it had come out. In all I think it’s a pretty decent improvement from my first exhibition.

What is the worst thing I do in the new video that I need to work on next?

Why use EX TKCStrike when you are only going to follow up with a normal combo? Save the meter for something else.
