ya, i realized that as soon as I did it. Have a habit of using EX to get the strike to hit more often which wasn’t needed because he was dizzy. Should have followed with 2nd normal strike into combo
Against Gouken be careful about doing tkstrike every time on his wake-up or a jump in cannon strike, mix in a couple of throws as well while hes getting up or do an empty jump-in and throw in case he uses his counter attack. Well played though!
Yeah i agree,pretty good played.
Couple things:
*naked spiral arrow is dangerous
*naked ultra when beeing knocked down is dangerous
*against gouken mixups with throws or he will read u and do counter like said by Ixion
*the jumping hk is dangerous too
for rest nice
there is improvement in your performance…
its obvious that you’ve been training
observation:
- bnb is your friend: c.lk, c.lp, c.lk, SA
- cut down of unsafe moves: Cannon Strike into Cannon Spike…
- SA and CS outside of a combo are punishable on block… keep that in mind at all times…
- Ultra on wakeup worked for you this time… i rarely ultra outside of a combo… for me the main way to land ultra is to CS FADC Ultra…
- maybe you didnt get the chance… but no CS FADC CS ?
- EX TCKS: if you gonna use it then follow it up with another TKCS then combo… or Ultra… otherwise its wasted meter… which can be replaced with a regular TKCS… (unless you find it easer to TKCS using the EX shortcut
? )
- learn to incorporate Focus Attack into your gameplay… you can take away huge chunk of damage by landing a successful FA crumble… into a combo/ultra
keep it up
I lost FADC when I started using stick so right now that stays in the training room. I just have so much trouble getting my fingers from high kick over to medium kick+punch in time. Still working on it.
Strike to Spike is a guilty pleasure left over from G3. Still trying to cut it out but when I stop thinking it creeps back in.
Good advice on the whole. I work on it all and post an update in a few weeks or so.
The way I always position my fingers when playing as Cammy is:
index finger: mk
middle finger: mp
ring finger: hk
Means I can always focus or focus cancel at anytime, or shift over to throw. You might be able to try a similar positioning.
My home position is thumb LK, index LP, middle MP, ring HP, pinky HK… and if I need to focus, I just bring my thumb under to MK. S’another suggestion you can try out in addition to Ixion’s.
i use something similar but emm… little different… i switch my hand position depending on combo/situation…
for CS FADC or SA FADC:
-
index finger on HK, middle finger on HP. even if im only going to cannon spike… my middle finger still floats over HP :p. (and i can cl.s.HP, HK CS that way also)
-
to FADC i just move my hand position from HP/HK to the left … to land naturally on MP/MK. (the vertical index/middle finger positioning remains the same, i just move my hand from H row to M row of buttons) and double tap forward…
I have my finger position like ExMachina. When I want to FADC, I would tap both MK and MP with my middle finger together. So if I wanted to do CS FADC CS, I would CS with my pinky, use my middle finger to FADC, and CS with my pinky again. If I just want to focus attack, then I would use my middle finger for MP and thumb for MK.
I hadn’t thought of laying one finger across both buttons. I’ll give it a shot. The tendons in my hands are a little messed up (can’t touch thumb to pinky finger for instance) so some of these finger layouts are very uncomfortable but I may be able to do that one.
haha, I am very different from you guys. I do index, middle, ring on the 3 kicks. AND THAT’S IT!
So cannon spike fadc is ring on HK, then middle on mp and index is on mk.
My index finger is only for lk. I use middle for lp and mp, ring for hp.
Hi, i am looking for some feedback on this match, up until now ive been playing a lot of sakura/akuma but im looking to main with cammy, I played this match before i went thru the cammy sub forum,

Stop throwing out random spiral arrows, cannon spikes, supers, ultras. They are all very unsafe and any good player would punish you for them. With Cammy you will pretty much only use specials in a combo except for cannon spike which you can reliable use against people jumping at you.
The easiest combo to start with for a new cammy is jumping heavy kick into crouching medium kick into heavy spiral arrow. If you add just that one easy combo your game will be worlds better than it is now.
The easiest way to combo your ulta at beginner stages is jumping heavy kick into ultra.
The reason you want to use specials/ultra at the end of a combo is because if you hit the jumping heavy kick you can be 100% certain that your ultra will hit him and you will not be punished. If the J Heavy gets blocked you can hold off on pressing KKK and prevent your ultra from being wasted and then punished.
You should pretty much never use super. That EX meter is better spent in other ways. Against fireballers EX Hooligan (to go over) and EX spiral arrow (to go under) are your friends. When you get good enough you’ll be using your EX to Spike FADC Spike but don’t worry about that until you get the easier basics down.
Go practice that stuff. At a beginner level that will be enough to make you win games reliably against the level of opponent as was in that video. Once you have all of that down come back here and learn how to TKCS.
Welcome c0nspire! Few things I noticed:
[LIST]
[]Try not to use your ultra or super on your opponent as they are getting up from a knock down. They will almost always be able to block it and punish, it can be used if they have a tiny ammount of health and you want to chip them, but other wise its not a good idea. Try and combo into both of them so you gurantee the hits, easiest way is to land a focus attack, dash out of it then super or ultra.
[]When you knocked Abel down most of them time you backed away, with Cammy its better to keep the pressure on.
[]Avoid doing cannon spikes and spiral arrows out of nowhere, they are best used at the end of combos (e.g. crouch lk, crouch lp, crouch lk->spiral arrow) or in cannon spike’s case when your opponent jumps in. If you miss either of those moves you can be really punished.
[]You used crouch HK/Roundhouse a lot, Cammy’s MK and crouch MK are probably better, if you land crouch MK you can go straight into spiral arrow. I did like your use of the HK and HP though!
[*]Try throwing and using cannon strike a bit more, they are big parts of her game

GREAT HERA!
back in September i reviewed WetWookie G2 match:
"sorry if this sounds harsh, in advance
i have noticed that u basically play with 1 button… HK!.. HK CS, HK SA, HK C.Strike… or c.HK… or s.HK… j.HK…!!!
u need to get familiar with her combos… CS and SA are easily punishable on block… you’d rather do them at the end of a combo… or when u know its a guaranteed hit (or when the situation is in your favor)"
now he improved A LOT!
hopefully you will too you need to hit the training room and LEARN her combos… no more random HK stuff!.. no more random Specials out of a standing position… no more ultra on their wakeup!
you need Cammy Crash Course lol
- Learn Combos (combo thread?, and we are happy to help you with any combo that you may have problems with
)
- Learn Matchups, whats punishable and whats not
- mix up games
- TKCS! TKCS! TKCS!
- CS FADC CS, CS FADC ULTRA
sigh
and go through her trials (they will teach you the basics… and some cool stuff that you may want to use)
and thanks for the video i actually learn something knew that you can sweep Abel out of his Super!
(but honestly all Abels combo into their super… )
firstly i dont believe its possible to be harsh when critiquing, it is the way it is.
secondly thanks for the help, I spent a few hours in the training room yesterday. i was tryign to learn the quick tkcs but i can only do it like 20% of the time so im working on that more. I have also been working on my combo’s a lot. Im also working on my fadc, I get the FA about 25% of the time, but i always miss the dash cancel, It seems it was easier to do with akuma
I think im on hard trial number 2 or something, there is one combo that i just cant get so i’ve taken a break from the trials
im not so much used to training in the training room since im coming from super smash brothers brawl and the training room there is kind of useless unless your practicing AT’s so im use to training with a partner
A new video from me versus a balrog.
movie
Self-critism
good old canon spike,i love u to much :china:
That was an awesome comeback in the second round! I’m pretty sure I played, and lost, to that guy’s Balrog earlier today. You seem to have a much better gameplan against Balrog than I do
No footage, but id like to thank Ixion for playing about a dozen matches with me, it really helped out, i learn much better this way over the training room. Sorry if it was boring for you
 great wakeup mind games!
that balrog wasnt that good tho… he had no concept of “anti-air”… + random super followed by random ultra was funny :nono:
great come back in the second round
good job overall especially for the mix ups…
