Cammy General Discussion: To Bee or not to Bee

See, it would be very hard to make it so Cannon Spike gives you oki when you anti air and at the same time resetting to the neutral game when you combo into it.

So with Cannon Spike giving you oki we could combo into DP and still maintain the pressure, making SA pretty much worthless in the combo department. You know, with the range, damage and stun of HK DP coupled with her stHP and crMK… she would be way too strong if her DP would let her as close to the opponent as say, Ken’s.

The only thing that I wanted to be changed is to let her a tiny little bit closer to the opponent after f grab so that she could meaty grab after a throw in the corner.

V-Reversal auto-tracking like her V-Skill would be quite neat, whiffing that seems so fishy.

I want the airthrow back.

When i read that Kazunoko wanted a meaty after an anti air CS i thought “sure why not, Ken and Ryu have it”, but what Haztlan said really hit the nail on the head. Cammy can combo into her CS from every combo opportunity, she should have to make a conscious decision between either pressure or damage, can’t have both as it would make her SA obsolete. Same goes for her AA’s basically, b.mp for pressure and CS for damage, st.hk is the ideal choice though.

Kazunoko played Yun where you basically got a mixup after EVERY upkick, anti air or combo didn’t matter, neither did delayed wakeup matter at all for Yun.

If there is something i would like to see changed it’s two things:

] st.hk hitting crouchers(similar to Alex where it hits crouchers from close ranges but whiffs on crouchers from further ranges)

Air throw would be cool to have again if only for it being iconic.

My hopes for Cammy are more small things.

Outside of st.hk hitting croucher and my beloved airthrow, there are small things I want added,nothing gamebreaking,mostly cosmetic stuff.

I want something visuell for Cammys V-Trigger. Every character gets a visuell effect if they’re in V-Trigger. Alex and Balrog both steam,the electricity around Ryus fists etc.
I want something for Cammy too,like small green lightning on her legs or something,just something that makes the V-Trigger look less boring.

Could cr.mks range pls match with the animation? Pls,for the love of god,pls!

I want more taunts for her! The one she had in SFIV taunt3,where she turned around and said “weak!” It was a cute taunt and a fast one.

Casuals are really full of Urien players. This happened though.
Not sure if I missed my meaties or what. I couldn’t even do a proper punish since I knew I had hit a button. Tried it again and same result. Anyone care to share experiences? I also have no clue on his frame data so it could be the move is just really slow.

That move has 12f of startup, you can even do a safe meaty with stMP or crMP.

Why the hell they are going for it so much then? Damn

The Urien match does seem good, at least 6-4. Slow fireball recovery, has to use ex for a reversal. I just got Platinum off an Alex. Alex players are wak. He ran away then did nothing but taunts or b,f+k. He does crazy damage though, kind of like Zangief. BTW s HK is really slow so unless they’re doing a very slow air move like full screen Ken QCB+HK stick to back strong. Not saying s HK anti air is bad but with the 8f of lag don’t hold your breath.

I prefer 2 just DP against Alex. I feel like some of his jumping attacks have strange hitboxes and at some ranges bmp doesn’t always hit.

That is very true. He can change the hurtbox of his jumping with jiHP (vertical) or jiHK (horizontal). So nailing the timing with only 3 actives of bMP can be tricky. And even if you hit 90% of the time… the 10% that you miss will result in your death.

Not to mention that if you always AA with bMP they can explore it with their divepunch. You know… its very unsafe on block, but on hit, again, you’re dead.

tl;dr: stHK or DP that guy.

Well VS Alex I neutral jump like hell. Air to airs, j HK their b,f+k, avoid their v trigger that way, their grabs, yeah, neutral jump. I often neutral jump in any matchup but VS Alex it’s particularly effective. SA catches him more than in other matchups too. It’s weird playing VS grapplers as Cammy. It’s like Cammy is a better grappler sometimes than Alex or Birdie and she makes fools out of them! Edit here’s the match. It starts at 5 minutes though. I just hit the share button and it uploads.

Yeah that Alex didn’t have a clue at all, truthfully Alex is a hard character to play in general but that’s guys fundamentals were terrible but he was from UK so maybe it was laggy I dont kno.

The problem with ur neutral jump strat is that people will adapt 2 it and when they do ur gonna b in trouble

@forest31 Congrats on plat but god damn that was the worst Alex I’ve ever seen. I hope it was the connection. He seemed to be mistiming a lot of stuff, but he was relying on the old cr mp, elbow routine with a sprinkle of wake up F+hp on wake up to CC. It looks like he relies heavily on having people walk into stuff. I have a feeling the fact that you weren’t rushing him down as Cammy messed with him plus that first round loss appeared to put him on tilt. Who taunts second round for no reason? He literally taunted you for just walking back and you dashed 3 times and still got him. That shit made me laugh. Then he tried to play it off by taunting again like someone who stumbles and then tries to act like they were about to run.

Have matches dropped off a lot for you guys lately. I’m literally seeing the same 4-5 people every night and that’s it.

How does Urien seem easy…his projectile isn’t much of the issue but the fact that its not brain dead easy to get around (like every other projectile in the game) does make it annoying. The main issue is those buttons, his dashes and he seems to have a really good grab range. It kind of seems like he has chun-li level pokes with almost nash like dashes…plus I’m pretty sure he out damages her a bit. The horizontal dp seems more of a problem in neutral but it seems to suck on wake-up so that’s just different. The v-trigger mixups will get better as we play more uriens and the early gameplay crap he gets away with. However those buttons are really good and he seems to have the movement options to use them. I think he has the potential to evolve into one of the matchups we don’t like.

I think I’ve seen someone else saying Urien beats Cammy in the matchup thread. I’ve fought only about 5 different Urien players and the character is fairly new but it was super easy. Perhaps if they played more like brick wall Ryu style it would be harder. I just v-reversal every aegis reflector activation and that was it. He is also free on wake up.

I played an ultra gold urien

that was very defensive he was content to just hit buttons and hang back and play neutral…so I invited him to a set and it seems urien is very strong in the neutral game. His wake-up doesn’t seem the issue but the neutral seems problematic to me. That forward flying invincible move isn’t an issue on wake-up but trying to play footsies with him is different than playing against any other character in the game to me, since he can plow through any pokes…has a projectile…respectable movement and I would think are GREAT pokes.
