Well Beta’s were exclusive to pre-orders. Now that the game is out you got an influx of casuals who probably didn’t hear about the game and picked it up on a whim. Player base naturally grows as a result and you’re going to find yourself playing against a lot of scrubs. Also, they’re a ton of SF4 frauds that are having a difficult time transitioning to SFV so you got that too.
Fang is fun, but very unfamiliar. I’m probably gonna suck with him for a while. Hard to get the muscle memory to hit the correct button when I want it. Not having a combo off a low, and not having a real overhead is also weird. I guess he’s just supposed to trap and zone with his fireballs and ground poison? This seems doable, but also seems worthless when a lot of characters get super/etc.
I also only just learned today that apparently he can cancel the recovery of his fireball into command dash, and he can cancel the recovery of command dash into his command crouch.
Such a quirky weird character. I imagine he will have very lopsided match ups too.
I’m really liking the game from what I’ve played. Luckily my old mains (Charlie, Sim and Dictator) are all quite good.
Nash felt weird at first, but he’s actually kinda similar to his A3 version in a lot of ways. Hit confirming off 2 jabs seems very important as well.
The hardest part will be unlearning all the terrible SF4 habits, but I’m happy to do that.
Gotta say, Sim feels so good compared to his SF4 version. Grey health off normals doesn’t usually seem like a big deal, but for Sim I think it will end up being a huge part of his damage. Time will tell. I’ll be having a lot of fun with him.
Rashid and Mika also seem interesting, so I’ll be giving them a shot.
Part of me wishes the normals weren’t so stubby, but I understand why they went in that direction.
Just change your settings to 4-5 bars and more importantly change it so it “asks” to confirm your match, it will let you see the connection before you accept the match.
