Select edition mode is not available in arcade versions of Ultra SF4. Only available on console.

Dunno why it needs to be offline only. Seems to me it would be relatively simple to have it as a separate mode.
It wouldn’t even be that difficult to let the room creator ban certain problem characters (fuck Vanilla Sagat).

I honestly wish they’d just go with it in all modes and then make tweaks to specific characters like vanilla Sagat and AE Yun. But whatever. Evo certainly won’t go with it if it’s not in the arcade version and not available in online play.
Why add a mode like this when it won’t even be used? It will have like two hours of novelty value and that’s it.

I would like to see Evo do an official tourney for Ultra (the one people will take seriously) and Edition Select (for the lols). I want to see the shit show that would result from a meta involving Vanilla Ryu/Sagat/Seth/Akuma/Gief, AE Yun/Yang, Super/AE Fei-Long, and AE2012 Cammy. I don’t think the dominance of charge characters in Super SF4 would be able to hold up vs the rush down characters that dominated each version of SF4.
I would love to see Daigo win with Vanilla Ryu BS with his knowledge of the character and the game over the years.
