it’s not actually going to be used in tournaments, it’s just a for-fun thing (or a side event)
the trailer they did was awesome though, showing all the broken stuff across the years, also it looked like they had a super awesome VS splash screen animation thing? hopefully that shows up in the final game
there you go josh, you dont have to deal with all the yun nerfs anymore, you can play him with his divekick blockstun, palm whiffing retardedness all you like…
Spoiler
in casuals.
eh. im kind of indifferent to it really. more modes and ways to play is cool i guess. its nice for the novelty.
rather they put in this than a decent training mode eh?
More ways to play is always a good thing… and I’m sure tournament standard will be Ultra versions only. It just sucks because I severely doubt capcom is going to implement two modes, so online is going to be a vanilla Sagat-fest again.
you pick the version of the character you want on the select screen, and yes you can pick AE or AE 2012, they’re separate versions
what do you mean, separate mode? I don’t think you have to go to a separate vs screen to access this, if that’s what you mean. But for any real tournament, you can bet they’ll just say “you must use the USF4 version of the character”.
I dunno why there are people upset with this, this is really awesome IMO, not everything added to the game has to purely benefit tournament players, I’m glad they’re adding something that we can screw around with for fun when the mood strikes
I really dont think by default you’ll be able to pick the edition though… that would make tourny management a nightmare making sure they absolutely select Ultra. That has to be it’s own little version of the game
I’d imagine it would be like… select “Arcade” and you would choose Ultra Edition, or Select Edition… same with versus. (This is what they did with SFxT on the vita… you select Arcade Mode, and you chose either “story” which is the standard, or Kumite for endless
i would bet money 99% that it wont be a seperate mode, itll just be exactly how it looked on the select screen just choosing the different version.
online though theyll have filters to stop people playing different versions. they actually did this back when AE first dropped, there was an option when you made the lobby to allow regular SSF4 players to join too, in which case the game would revert back to the SSF4 changes and disallowed the new characters. Darkstalkers online also allows you to ban characters as well so i would be surprised if they didnt do something similar.
does this mean that if vanilla sagat/seth and AE yun are too strong we can complain to capcom to get them nerfed??? fuck their OP bullshit.
and since that vanilla sagat and ultra sagat are gonna be next to each other in the select menu, all youd need to do is give a quick nudge to the right immediately followed by the select button while no one is looking. mission accomplished mwa ha ha.
i personally dont give capcom as much credit to think of making it a seperate mode though lol
It seems to be a separate mode anyways so this conversation is moot. The trailer says that it’s a “mode” in its description. I think it has to be a separate mode in order to keep people from picking alternate versions online.
K-brad is good with cammy but I get really salty watching him, it must be low forward drill is just so stupid, that move should be totally unFADCable on block
