C.Viper Combos and Glitches

At first, I was like, “WTF, this guy is making this so complicated.”

Then I went into training mode and tried it and… somehow it works.
When I just stare at the Health Bar, I can do double c.FP WAY more consistently.

i was just trying to learn it by negative edge, is that harder?
I mean i can do it 50/50

edit: went and actually tried it, great post there deviljin!!! I had no idea the timing was that lenient off of the combo.

level 2 fa + hard trial 5 combo = about 568 damage and 610 stun :o

read that

lol, nice job coming up with a visual aid for the feint combo Jin. =D
Do you think different types of screens would have a affect on this method? It would suck to go to your first tourney and play on a really big plasma or a really small CRT and be down to 10% success rate with it, lol.

For online play Showgun has the right idea. Almost all of my fights are on 3 bars so I just give FP a quick double tap when I roll my finger back into the TK. I’ve had good success with it this way but I don’t think anyone will ever be 100% with this combo in an online match, just too many variables.

The idea isn’t necessarily to use that method in an actual fight. That’s unnecessarily difficult unless you have the opponent stunned. The idea of the method is to get the timing put in muscle memory for you like the FRC bar did in Guilty Gear. It shows you the exact point in time where you can cancel (which is actually a few frames longer than most GG FRC’s) and that way when you go to battle you can see the health bar timing in your head and cancel consistently.

It’s basically just to get a visual representation of when you need to hit the buttons. Which I believe is the number 1 key to getting it consistently. If you know the exact set of frames where you need to cancel…the game will never mess the cancel up for you. All the game is looking for is timing when it all comes down to it.

The weekend is too short. On a lighter note - seismo sjc burning kick from almost any location is near 100%.

DJ… what was with the long winded explination of her basic feint combo? you have to be fucking retarded not to be able to do it if you have any execution skills whatsoever

c.hp > hp knuckle, lp+mp/3p x 2, c.hp > w/e u want.

if you are getting EX punch then you just need to slow down your input for knuckle…whats so hard about that? i understand some people need visual ques… but if you go to looking @ the lifebar like you are hit confirming chun’s c.mk in 3s then you could potentially miss mixup oppertunities especially if it doesn’t hit.

if you can’t do basic things like feint cancels with your eyes closed in your sleep… lol

360ing it is a good thing to do if you want to go forward… but if you want to go backward or w/e it’s slightly harder. I just do a slow double tap when i get to ub/u/uf depending on what direction i wish to go in.

i feel your pain man i was practicin this a good part of my weekend, bad execution skill is really messed up when you love fighting games, i’m getting better at it though now that i have a method that i feel makes sense to me. they still wont let me play at work though, bastards, so i guess i’m waiting until 7 to get more practice in…

Yeah I still have no way to play at work. It would be sick to play even on my lunch break.

I’m getting better with the fierce feint fierce, it just doesn’t seem like something i’ll be using in battle just yet. seismo xx sjc BK is more important to me right now.

@ Shodokan. It’s only a visual cue to use in training mode. Using it in an actual fight is useless. It should be in muscle memory by that point. For people that play Guilty Gear it would make a lot more sense but yeah. It allows the game to pretty much tell you where to cancel in training mode which I think is a big help for the newer Viper players that haven’t been playing fighting games competitively for years. You’re a computer nerd execution wise compared to them.

I have a question, does it really matter which TK you feint?

I usually use mp knuckle to feint, but if there is a reason to use fp knuckle to feint the I’ll start using it.

I’m pretty sure you can’t fierce feint fierce unless you use HP TK, as the other TK’s feint recovery isn’t fast enough.

I’ve done it with all three actually. Minus the EX, but they were all for st. fierce feint cr. fierce.

The only one I use the fierce TK for is if I ever do cr. fierce feint cr. fierce really.

thats damn good to know!

everyone knows you can seismo to hj burning kick to ultra right dont know if this was already stated but i ex seismo to hj.jumping.fk(the knee) as my opponent landed i did ultra. I also ex seismo to hj jumping.fk then as he landed seismo to hj burning kick to ultra.

This doesn’t work.

I didn’t even know what he was talking about.

ex seismo to super jump in the air do fierce kick(the knee not the jump kick) then catch them in the ultra as they land from the knee it does work I also did ex seismo to super jump jumping fierce kick(the knee) as dude landed ex seismo to super jump burning kick to ultra afterwards i went to training a did it more times Try it.

It won’t work off an air reset. You must not have it set to Auto Block. Change it to Auto Block and you’ll see it doesn’t work.
