haha viper? easy to win with???
man, even uryo has to work for his wins…he has to work really hard for them…
Yeah, I know Mikoal, lol. Bah, shouldn’t have posted that dumb comment anyway.
I have no clue about the regular Seismo recovery, maybe Capcom thought it was a powerful zoning tool on top of the fact you could feint/sjc it and it needed huge amounts of recovery. But it’s proper slow to start up though.
Of all the things to bitch about Viper, people always bitch about BKs. I don’t understand why.
That’s the thing. If you feint too much…u allow the opponent to close the gap on you for free. Let your seismos go too often and eventually one will whiff and you will get comboed. Even Flash whiffs seismos and he probably uses seismos better than most any other Viper on the planet.
The Hell?
Yeah, that’s true. Plus they know Viper can only really throw regular Seismos at certain ranges, otherwise it’s pretty risky, so they might just ignore the feints at unsafe ranges and dash in or start poking or something, so yeah, you can’t feint too much.
Yeah Viper is just a lot of smoke and mirrors and behind it all is a character with sub par tools and a lot of gaps IMHO. People are afraid of her high damage output off of her EX seismo and hard attacks and try to relate her to 3rd Strike Yun or MVC2 Magneto. She wishes she was half as good.
In any event c.MP already was basically Viper’s best footsie move IMO and I used it all the time despite the fact that it could have used some toning up regardless. I mean if they took off even one less frame of start up on her c.MK that’d be great but c.MK was not a great move mainly because the hit box didn’t even hit fully across the screen and other character’s c.MK’s were at least 2 frames faster than it so u always had to account for when they were going to use their c.MK cuz Viper’s normals across the board were even worse. c.MP being stronger as a hit box move sounds nice but I kinda just got used to using it as it was her only decent one. I mean I guess if they tone it it’ll probably be up there with Ryu’s c.MP but meh it’s still c.MP. Sweep is still ass and her standing normals will probably still be really iffy.
Why nerf the burning kick. She didn’t have an advatage with it when it was blocked in mid air. I’ve been srked and tued on that on reaction. We really didn’t want any changes with her except making cr. mk range a bit bigger since it seems like the middle of her leg hits the opponent and not the foot like for most other characters. That and a faster EX-TK is all we wanted, why give us this and nerf BK?
i’m pissed about the bk changes, we didn’t even get confirmation of the cr. mk hitbox buff.
I’m just hoping Light BK doesn’t suffer as badly as I think it will from the nerfs. I like using it to escape tick throws.
^ same with me, i just hope 1 frame nerf…lol
Lol, here’s hoping Mikoal.
Still holding out on the thought that all BKs will left with neutral advantage on block, or the disadvantage won’t be as bad as it seems.
As long as they aren’t punishable. That’s all I ask.
Anyways, I guess Ultra 2 is supposed to be Viper’s “big buff”. Easier to use and combo than U1, and more difficult to punish.
What about her focus attack?
FA are supposed to be a more prominent part of Super: charge faster to level 2, all the new characters have good FA’s, etc.
While Viper has one of the worst FA’s in the game.
haha her “big gain” seem to really help noob vipers… lets hope they can put her U2 into some sick ass combos…i didnt train so hard wtih viper to have others pick her up and doing well with U2…
as for her FA…probably faster…but still slow relative to others…
Well from what I’ve heard the actual speed of focus attacks hasn’t changed. Only the speed that they charge has been changed. So like if you watch videos of Super SFIV you’ll notice how amazingly fast characters like Cody charge to level 2. You can tell when a character is charged for a level 2 when they flash white right after activating the charge. It’s literally like almost as soon as you press and hold MP+MK Cody is already at level 2 charge. He barely even charges before he is at level 2 crumple power. Which I would assume Viper would probably also benefit from this by being able to charge to level 2 quicker but unfortunately since Viper’s focus attack speed will mostly go unchanged she’ll basically get to level 2 or 3 quicker but still lose because when she finally releases the focus attack it’s still going to be the same slow ass MJ spin.
On the flip side, She has just enough tools that keep her competitive in SFIV. Uryo and Kyabatsu(if that how u spell it) play quite a mean Viper competitively.
She does have some positives tho. Seismic/EX Seismic in many ways can be considered a positive although can be negative at times.
As for SSFIV, c.MP buffed? I would like to see for myself how much it is buffed.
BK nerf? Like most I wonder how much it is nerfed on block.
I do wonder if U2 will have a good use in SSFIV tho. Looks like a good aerial perhaps.
Maybe SJ shenanigans to U2. It is an aerial ultra which is quite odd.
I actually got a huge list of things to try out in SSFIV. I wrote it down actually like a nerd.
Well we will see when the game comes out.
Yeah well that’s the case with any character. When u get to play as often as Uryo and Kyabetsu do you can bring the best out of them despite the matchups. It doesn’t mean the character in itself still isn’t unnecessarily flawed. Her offense just shouldn’t be so slow and risk based. Slow start up on everything is just lame against a lot of characters. It’s like you always have to over think basic situations with Viper.
wow, ppl in eventhubs are just…
im just gonne stop replying to them.
they are saying that her bk is godly…
and that c.mk and c.mp is godly, and connect that with mp tk, you’ll be stuck!!!
lol…oh ppl…i guess i should be proud that we rep our vipes so well that it pulls the wools over their eyes.
good job vipers!
Yeah even hubs kids don’t understand that basic shit like focus attack kills her crouching normals and they are short ranged as fuck so it’s easy to just turtle and zone to make them whiff. If you have 2 meters and a shoryu u can just safely mash shoryu against her MP knuckle strings too. Good players will know to mix their strings up but honestly the things even a half assed Ryu or Rog player can get away with against Viper is insane.
and another easy-mode option to balance things out in SFIV. GG Capcom. Instead of building a solid engine with good fundamentals, just band-aid everything with braindead tools. Rufus anyone?
