Buying a stick made in china

I don’t really think the button layout is that comfortable, but who knows. The price seems nice now, however just wait until the aution ends, I think it will be a massive raise in costs…

I think this seller just copied the description for the MadCatz TE stick, because it even says “the Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition brings the true arcade experience right into your home.”

Exactly. It makes it so much easier to replace parts in the future.

Thanks for getting back to me today. Like I said in my email response to you, I will find out the cost of shipping this joystick back to you sometime tomorrow and will let you know the cost when I find out.

Yeah, but it depends on the market he’s shooting for. Generic parts soldered to the board isn’t a problem as such, if you’re targetting the newbie who has no stick-making skills, just wants to play the game and can’t get hold of a Madcatz. I think the price may be too high for that market, though- there are cheaper, if substantially more terrible designs available.

In any case, a more sturdy soldering job would benefit both end user and the stick maker. The last thing he wants is more sticks like the current situation, where he’ll have to mess about with returns.

Fairplay to Madcatz. Their sticks and buttons might have been troublesome, but their PCB’s, case and wiring seem to have been first-rate.

Have you bought from this guy before? l have contacted him to buy a stick as l am going to Hong Kong next month, but he wants money upfront and said that he can meet me at rail stations to give me the product.

This will be my first stick and if i keep it sooner or later I’ll want to switch out the parts for authentic arcade pieces. My worries are that the soldering will be to tough for me to do alone. I should have just been more patient and wait for a madkatz stick at a reasonable price. This shortage of xbox 360 sticks and the fact that everyone selling one right now is charging double the price or more is just lame as hell. Decent/good arcade sticks aren’t cheap to begin and extreme gamepad frustration will make you feel like you have to get one.

I shouldn’t have been surprized that someone would try to pass off some very poorly done sticks at an outlandish price. To charge someone 100$+ for a stick gives the buyer the impression that they are gettin a somewhat quality item. I feel sellers that do this are trying to take advantage of buyers eagerness. This reminds me of a few sellers on ebay who tried selling imitation sony psp memory cards at the same price as legit ones. But now since most people are aware of these scammers you can find these imiation memory cards for 1/4th the price of a genuine card which is finnaly a fair price for what we are purchasing.

yes i bought mine from him but i paied him through a friend of mine who is in HK
the day after i arrived in HK we met and he gave me my stuff…no problem at all.

Hello,coltmild. I’ve mail you at ebay,please check.

Yes,if you guys have interested in those stjjyg.com sticks,I can buy them for you for a little handling fees.

Thank you for your opionion.
We’ll try to make a more perfect joystick in the coming days.

Yes,is the thing you mention is a quick disconnect? That sounds a good idea for me.

Quick disconnects would be great.

Good to see you being active in the community, you’re building a good rep for yourself with that kind of customer service.

If I was in the market for a stick, I’d know you’re legit.

Yes it is.QD=Quick disconnect.
I’d like to know how much it would be for those Sie Tong stick first, not a copy made for 360, the sie tong (chinese copy their own brand too sometimes) doesn’t sell Sticks for 360, their french agent sells them around more than 100 euro with new Sanwa parts, shipping included.

I just go my stick, man, why did you put the button from the paddle you used to make the stick inside of the stick box???!!!

When i first got the parcel in y hand i heard the noise of the buttons clapping inside… i’ve freaked out…It could have damage the PCB/wiring.
I had to open it to found an X and a B buttons inside the box with some glue on them (i suppose they were glued somewhere), the B button was maybe glued on the PCB, i have though that something was already broken!
Is it normal for chinese sticks to use the paddle’s buttons?you just need the pcb…
Overall the stick seems to be working, but if you want improve it, you should do a better quality control.
The solderings looks weak but it works, except that all is ok.
Also a button from the joystick wasn’t pushed in the hole.
It needs some improvement, the buttons are too big or not close enough.(in my taste), you can use a jack plug and make a microphone hole for online game, from the microphone plug on the pcb.
Overall the stick doesn’t worth the price i paid for it, you should sell them at a lower price because it need some improvements (QD, better wiring, fix the PCB to the box!,don’t throw your old buttons inside the stick it could harm it!,maybe add a microphone plug, the buttons layout is a personnal taste i can be used to it)

You buy a bargain stick, you get what you pay for.

Thank you raeli, to be honest,I also would like to join you guys,so I can know what most people wants, and decide how we make and sell the sticks.

Hi,terminator,Thank you for all your advise.
1.I didn’t notice that the worker have put them into the box,I’ll ask them not to put those button inside the box in the coming days, that’s really ridiculous.
2.Yes,we’ve made some changed in the wiring and PCB positionwill be more reasonable now. Also QD is available. I’ll post a new threat later with picture.
3.About the pricing,I’m a bussinese man,I made profit on it to make it a living, but i’m sure, all guys here can get a very good discount from me,if you guys want any joystick,I can even buy some sticks you guys want from CHINA.By the way,we have a very good advantage on EMS express(to USA,CANADA,UK,Austrailia, and other major country). :stuck_out_tongue:
4.Microphone and wireless function will be coming in the coming days.

It does look pretty sleek

TERMINATOR, I thought you bought it from a different person than Niking?
