I’m using…
L M a1
E H a2
Kind of annoying hitting the assists when I need to smash the buttons for XF.

So can anyone confirm if you can macro the airdash command to a button like in TvC?
You can. I know there’s an option for a L+M+H macro. Dunno if you could set it to just L+M though.
I don’t like any of the stick layouts.
A B C
E A1 A2
Thats the best one but then I hate the assist placement.
No matter how I put it every layout has a downside. I’m leaning more towards playing on pad where the layout looks more natural
ABC A2
ABCE A1
…B
A C
…E
I’ll be using
ABC
D12
if you try doing the MVC2 layout you get C above D but C is a sweep and D is what used to be c.hp launchers so it will be confusing IMO.
Has anyone tried a stick layout using a 7th button???
I don’t know if it would work for me, but it is way more comfortable tu activate X Factor with 2 buttons rather than 4
I’m probably going to use the Type-B control scheme because when I have my hand on the buttons I normally have my index, middle and ring fingers on the top 3 buttons and my thumb on the lower part of the exchange button.
It’s been discovered that you cannot bind for X-Factor.
I have a pad layout I wanna try, rotating the face button layout clockwise:
–:h:
-:s:
–:l:
My thumb, after all these years, is used to gravitating to the right for the hardest strikes. It is also used to a quick light attack being the bottom of the face button set-up. Since is the go-to strike for aerial raves it will also feel comfortable doing a series with this set up as well. If anybody cares to weigh in or even try this out it would be cool.
I started using:
M H 1
L E 2
The only problem is getting used to light being low. Its not that hard and once I did it was great and makes sense if you use viper and come from SF4 because the two middle buttons are focus. However since Arcade UFO is using:
L M H
E 1 2
I switched to that, took me an hour or 2 to get my combos down againa and get used to it. I still prefer the first one, but if I have a chance to play this at the arcade I am going to learn the controls they are using.
L H A1
M E A2
xfactor is easy as shit on this unless you have an unresponsive button, palm that bitch. also, b is the lk for mags storm and iron man, also dr doom sj adf B is a combo set up
stick:
L M H
S A1 A2
pad:
X = L
[] = M
/\ = H
O = S
R1 = A1
R2 = A2
L1 = dash?
L2 = XF?
Fightstick:
L M H
A1 E A2
X360 Pad:
X = L
Y = M
B = H
A = E
LB = A1
LT = ??
RB = A2
RT = Dash
Am I the only one thinking of taking advantage of the 8 buttons on the TE and going
L M H A1
E ? ? A2
I don’t like the idea of dropping my fingers from my attacks for an assist.
I do have a concern about custom button mapping. I might be thinking too far ahead here, but if an arcade version rolls out sometime in the future, then all the people with custom button configs are kinda screwed. It’ll be a hell of a lot easier to get used to an uncomfortable configuration now than in a year.
That said, I use
L M H
S A1 A2
Anyone know the default pad layout? I’m probably gonna have to play pad at my Gamestop’s demo before the midnight launch. I hope it’s

:l:-:h:

like Tatsunoko, but I have a feeling it’s
–:h:

more like Guilty Gear or something. I guess I could probably change it on the fly if necessary.
The first one. But I’m gonna try the second one (I posted it not long ago).

I haven’t had a chance to touch mvc3 yet but I was thinking about something along the lines of:
L M H E
A1 A2
I would rather have secured X-factor and I feel that my thumb would be accurate enough for assists
I have to say I agree with this layout, after playing Marvel 2 for so many years I don’t think I could play this game any other way. I played a bit of TVC and did not have a problem with the default controls but anything closer to MVC2 home just seems more fitting.
definitely. i’m going to be using something similar, but simpler,
M H E A1
L A2
thumb covers light and A2 and I never have to move my hand at all to do anything. It’s basically just like the control scheme I use in BB except with assists.
L M A1
E H A2
ya, i kind of gen/mantis-hand when it’s x-factor time lol.
