So why is PW scary?
Side TACs are broken as hell, mostly for Phoenix (Jean Grey) Teams.
Most people are gonna do 3 things when it comes to defending TACS
50% of people will mash S and spin the stick in a circle…and itll work a lot.
30% of people will protect THEIR meters, at least, and counter to the side.
10% of people will actually gauge which direction their opponent likes to press and use the system how it was (probably) designed- in game combo rock paper scissors.
(made up numbers, obv)
but for teams with Phoenix at anchor, since they’re not going to be building as much meter for her, will probably use Down TACs. Not so easy to counter though- if the Phoenix player is even a bit competent with their first two characters then they will mix in side TACs. Now youll have to deal with either them getting closer to Dark Phoenix or you losing your options to combat Phoenix, Dark or otherwise. Oh, and youll be taking damage…
All of her traps were sped up, as well. And her Peekaboo is faster on assist.
Basically she got buffs all around (TRISH HAS AIR X-FACTOR! Think about it!) and the other people that beat her are now not quite so powerful.
Turnabout mode has what looks like TOD’s by himself against most of the cast that won’t require much meter and gains normals with extended hit boxes that cover most of the screen.
and one of the best projectile sets in the game.
I feel that PW isn’t going to be that great. Takes too long to get to his Turnabout mode, and even if he does get there you could always just zone him out, considering he doesn’t have any teleports. Morrigan will be good, but only if you have a good assist to help her get in, same goes for Ammy. Characters that are slow (Haggar, Hsien-Ko) will be even worse, and the health of characters won’t even go into consideration, as TOD combos will be everywhere. My day 1 team of Morrigan, Trish, and Hawkeye will be B+ at best. If I’m right on at least one of these I will be a happy man.
EDIT: Above post reminded me of PW’s projectiles…if he get’s there he’s going to be tough to beat w/o using random supers…
Collecting Correct evidence is dumb easy to do (takes all of 4 seconds including random bad evidence) as is going into courtroom stance the hardest part about the whole ordeal seems to be landing Objection which also looks to have pretty high priority and a Stupidly big hit box. I hope it is hard for him to get to turnabout mode but at this time it looks way too easy.
how tough will it be for him to get into that mode?
Even accounting for bad evidence it’s about four clock ticks to collect all the evidence, and you can I guess combo into Bridge to the Turnabout off what appears to be stand short.
Pretty easy.
Cap is going to be really good. . . . I mean REALLY good lol. His combos are easy and damaging and he has wolvie cartwheels, what more can you want???
Man, I want that Ironfist Dragonkick assist, but I don’t want to use Ironfist. That shit is FAST b. It has to have some sort of shitty hitbox or something because if your opponent isn’t looking for it or if they pushed a button, they’re wallbouncing.
And yeah, Cap looks like a force now. I’m glad I watched that movie, but I’ve decided I’m gonna learn some stuff with him.
flying kick is also super safe. He actually has 2 really good looking assists.
Change his theme song to America, FUCK YEAH!
- Can perform Trick “Hopscotch,” Trick “Peekaboo,” and Round-Trip only once per jump.
Looks like we spoke WAY too soon on Trish. Low/bottom tier?
^join the club.
better make use of that flight mode more.
man i guess imma have to drop trish… one of the sole reasons i liked about her was bein able to do multiple traps in the air and staying there forever ;(
They put in a bunch of new characters for that purpose. She’s more of a character that is solid at both lame and rush than one that really specifies in one or the other.
Except with the rumored divekick nerf, and her keepaway being massacred, she’s now a character that sucks at both. Balance!
Her dive kick is cancellable at any point during the dive so it’s basically one of the best dives in the game being that she can shove it down your face at least twice before landing. Which allows for constant high/low + dive kick pressure allowing her to shove a bunch of hit boxes in your face you can’t really poke at and then set up mix up. Her keepaway will be more assist reliant but I don’t see it being massacred.
Her ability to get damage off throws is a much bigger buff than her nerfs. She’ll actually be an anchor worth talking about now.
