Epic game, really loved the concept of realism and ‘Zen’. I believed firmly in honor, so I would only do things that were Bushido.
Would love to see a remake. Maybe for Wii, who knows.
Not for the wii. I actually want it to be good.
I’d want Miyamoto Mushashi to be a playable character though just cause. :3
It’s about slashing, Wiimote is made for slashing
Graphics werent any good on PS1 either, so why not
I’d rather not turn this into a console debate. So I’ll just say “due to limitations it’d be bad for BB3 to be on the Wii”
If that “motion plus” thing actually makes the wiimote precise, then that would be the obvious choice.
But as it is now, might as well go with the best graphics.
Yeah, but it gets annoying when you get in “endless” clash battles. The feature is definitely needed in the game, since there’s no blocking, but I think clashing should be less easy to do.
The panzy with the frog (Chihiro?) that made the women shriek - priceless
why, if they were the most unnefective chars on the game, from my experience they were the lowers on the tiers, at least in BB2
No, I just hate final fantasy.
That game was alot of fun. Too bad it looks so terrible now.
Yeah but what I’m saying is when you had to get to certain stages in the story you couldn’t fight “dirty” and throwing dirt in their eyes, and I think hitting them while they were on the ground, was considered dirty.
we had a pretty serious group playing bb2(if thats possible ^_^) the problem with the game is that the collision boxes on the weapons are very poorly mapped.
some things i would like to comment on:
first of all katz isnt broken his run speed is so so he has no real answer for anyone with ninja run such as nightstalker redshadow or tony… also since u can parry the bullets just like any other weapon he doesnt really outright destroy anyone… also not all the shots are fatal crouch shot rapid succession is actually a non fatal waist hit followed by 2 more that would fatal if u dont respond to the first hit…
main problem with alot of tier based talk is that the game is horridly executed in terms of char development, some chars for example have special moves throws secondary wield weapons etc the special moves, only they can do with with certain weapons others have none. also as i said b4 the way that the collision works in this game it doesnt really make alot of the above “special” moves good any multi hit attack for example can be interrupted by a parry(attacking) the game turns more into a rock paper scissors of when u both are clashing whos going to time the revert thrust, which one u will use and what will be the response of the opponent.
the game is very cool no doubt i think its kindah dull at “high” (as best i know it) level of play.
as an example u can manipulate ur ground hitbox when knocked down to constantly take nonfatal hits as u roll around…
if anyone has specific questions about this game or wants to play let me know =} hopefully i can be of some assistance…
I really wanted to like BB2, and was hyped like mad from playing the shit outta BB1, but I just couldn’t.
-Atrocious loading times
-Replaced or eliminated certain weapons (yeah of course HWM/Black Lotus was awesome…only he kept the Rapier)
-Yellow blood
-No more leg handicap
-Mash mash mash mash mash
-Eliminated defense (as a button)
-TONY UMEDA.
Supposedly, you could unlock two Kabuki clown characters from each school by beating Slash Mode w/o dying, similar to unlocking Katze in BB1. I couldn’t do it. It was weird seeing Tsubame/Katze using swords though (forgot the mode, 2P only).
Loved the old man whose subweapon was screaming until he lost his voice.
Basically, I’ve been playing Soul Calibur on 0% health to replicate this game.
^the ‘powerstep’ side weapon was actually inf its just range specific what the cough is represents a wiff also legg handicap is unnecessary u got leg handicapped in 1 u lost, thats it there is no point for it in the bb2 in 1 it was more pertinent to story mode
i also didnt like the load times and how they dumbd down the stages
if they remade this game with better parry system updated moves stage to stage trave one player ala bb1 and kept the story it could be really good imo
Loved the games (just look at my name!)
I loved the concept of being realistic and the one hit kills.
Highway Man ftw

Yea the voice acting and stuff, very bad lol
SE should just put BB1 on XBLA/PSN. Utsusemi was great despite his slow run.
It was all about that bamboo forest level where you would cut down the bamboo as you fought.
Very good post. I used to turn around while laying on the ground to parry and take nonfatal hits all the time. It was an awesome way to taunt my friends! Haha…
Good times indeed. And very nice post, you explained shit better than I did. =)
We had a big 20+ man Bushido Blade 2 gathering a few weeks ago; many of the best BB2 players in US flew out to California to compete.
Finals here-
It was all about falling off a ledge when you win, those were classics.
