Oh wow dude, this is awesome! It’s exactly the kind of thing we were looking for!
whoa hi jiyuna
That game was so awesome. The prospect of dying at any time would make for an awesome online experience.
awesome
flying 6 people from east coast to crash at my place for a weekend: almost $2k
burning bushido blade to a cd: less than 10 cents
taking, encoding, and uploading footage of bushido blade: 1 hour
passing it off as a serious gathering for the game: priceless
Wow that looked so fun Bushido Blade was the bomb why Square Enix you can’t make a Bushido Blade 3 with HD graphics like imagine Fallout 3 type of landscape to run around in while fighting that would be so awesome.
Please Dave Sirlin by the rights to Bushido Blade from Square Enix and make a Bushido Blade HD Remix!!!
i doubt square enix even remember that this franchise existed
If they would have kept the open environment and and ability to disable all four limbs, BB2 would have been a lot better. As is, I think they both have their ups and downs.
Kengo sucks.
Gun characters were trash. They couldn’t hit you if you ran in circles, they had to reload, and iirc they could run out of ammo completely.
I thought it was fun. My friends and I spent hundreds of hours playing it over a couple summers.
story mode was solid as well
I still own the second one, remember having a blast trying to unlock characters, but didn’t have many people to play with. Obviously, SE would never release a game like this today, but it would be amazing if they tried to make a modern version.
Man, I miss this series. Bushido Blade 2 was one of my favorite games of all-time! I hated fighting the transsexual with the gun, tho. The girl with the rifle was even harder.
this game blows, one hit kills are OP
How can it be OP if everyone has it? :looney:
New Bushido Blade would be epic.
only when you dont have a pulse…
I got my PS modded for the first Bushido Blade!
I loved playing in B&W.
I remember playing in First Person(linked). XD
Didn’t you read that Sirlin article? Games like this are bad because of that slippery slope thing. Like you can cripple someone’s legs, making it near impossible to make a comeback. Other fighters don’t do this, because they know full well no one would want to play them if getting hit put you at such a disadvantage gameplaywise. Closest thing would be if say Capcom made it so you can break limbs, imagine playing as Ryu with a broken arm, now he can’t do Shoryukens and you’re fucked.
But Chess works like that. The more you are attacked, the weaker you get.
Besides… Even if your legs are hurt, don’t forget that you can still one-hit-kill the other guy. So anything could happen.
All I’m saying is, the feature isn’t in other fighters, and for good reason. No one would want to play a “realistic” SF or Tekken game.
That’s true if you just throw that mechanic into an existing game.
But if you, you know, design around it, you can make a good game that uses it. Like Bushido Blade.
Sirlin is a pretty smart dude, but 1.) everything he says isn’t gospel and 2.) a lot of people are too dumb to understand words.
2 doesnt have the leg damage and the arm damage only affects secondary weapons for those that have them and reloading with gunz…
