I would’ve let this one slide if it hadn’t been for the picture. Apparently, you can park mobile homes and trailers on the INFIELD. :wtf: This is like those super B races where the car flies off the dirt track and kamikazes a couple of bystanders, except you can bring your whole damn house!! back when I was a little baby hammer I went to a Nascar race. None of this kind of crazy was going on there and you have to leave your home…well, at home. Those poor drivers are dealing with some Cruiz’n USA level shit now a days.

A gun-loving social media activist was shot and wounded Tuesday by her 4-year-old son while driving. Investigators said Jamie Gilt was driving a four-door pickup truck hauling a horse trailer about 3 p.m. when the boy somehow managed to gain access to a .45-caliber handgun and shoot her from the back seat, reported the Florida Times-Union. A Putnam County sheriff’s deputy spotted the 31-year-old Gilt behaving frantically inside the pickup, which was partially parked in a travel lane on Florida 20, authorities said. The bullet passed through Gilt’s torso, and she is expected to survive.

Deputies said the boy was not strapped into a booster seat, but they haven’t determined whether he was strapped in at the time of the shooting. Gilt, of Jacksonville, frequently posts about her love of guns and her views on Second Amendment rights, as well as her support for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz and racist propaganda. In fact, she boasted the night before the shooting on Facebook that her “4-year-old gets jacked up to target shoot the .22,” in response to her post suggesting that guns are a better response to a burglary than calling 911.

The woman apparently maintains a Facebook page called “Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense,” which has been deluged with critical messages since her accidental shooting.

As deputies debated the safety of carrying out the rescue of a stolen car from a Florida pond on March 31, three teenage girls drowned inside, according to news reports. Deputies deemed the rescue unsafe after wading into the water, but dashcam footage led the girls’ families to question how much the deputies did to save them.

Around 4 a.m. that morning, Fox News reports that a deputy saw a stolen 1998 Honda Accord driving near St. Petersburg without headlights on. While trying to evade the deputy, the driver reportedly missed a sharp turn and the car went into a pond, per Miami Herald.

The newest footage from the incident includes audio recording of the deputies’ conversation, with one voice saying pointing out the fact that he heard yelling. Later on, another voice says, “Now, they’re done. They’re done.” According to the Herald, a wrecker arrived two hours later. Here’s a video that has part of that conversation and a look at the murky pond:

According to reports, the deputies originally thought the girls escaped and ran away as the car sank in 15 feet of water.

After realizing the girls were inside, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies went in the water and attempted to save the girls. Their feet sank upon entering the pond, and they deemed the rescue to be too risky. With windows rolled up and doors closed, Fox reports that the sheriff, Bob Gualtieri, said the car was a “death chamber.”

The Tampa Tribune reports that the three girls, identified as Dominique Battle, 16, Ashaunti Butler and Laniya Miller, both 15, had seven arrests on record for crimes that included vehicle thefts.

Lawyers representing the families of the girls claim that the accounts by the sheriff’s office are full of holes and a “smear campaign” against the girls due to discussions of their past records following their deaths. In response to claims of inconsistencies in the story, the office released more footage on their Facebook:

A message from the department accompanied footage, indicating that the department shared the video “with the hope that the false narrative being spread about this incident stops.” Here’s more from the post:

Unfortunately, some people are irresponsibly and falsely posting on Facebook that deputies did not attempt to rescue the 3 girls who tragically drowned while fleeing from the police in a stolen car a few weeks ago.

The sheriff stated at the time that deputies removed their gun belts and clothes and tried to enter the water to rescue the girls, but the conditions in the water prevented them from doing so. This is exactly what happened, and we stand by that.

All video regarding the incident has been released, including the below clip that shows deputies who had taken off their duty gear in an effort to rescue the girls. The other video being shown omits this part that shows deputies who had entered the water in their effort to rescue the girls.

According to the Herald, Gualtieri added that the video doesn’t show 15 deputies who later arrived on scene. He also said the families should not promote a “false narrative” about the situation, per the Herald.

A Michigan father wants people to know “there are still real-life superheroes in this world” after a police officer’s random act of kindness recently brought him to tears.

LaVonte Dell told ABC News today he was driving in Westland, Michigan, this past Monday afternoon when he “suddenly saw the red and blue lights” behind car. The 28-year-old dad said his “heart dropped to his stomach” and that he was “so sure” he was going to get a costly ticket because of his vehicle’s tinted windows.

But what happened next “completely surprised me,” Dell said.

“The officer told me why he pulled me over, which I had predicted, and then he also noticed my 3-year-old in the back wasn’t in a car seat,” Dell said. “He asked me to step out of my vehicle to talk to him, and I was just so scared thinking this couldn’t be good.”

“The dad teared up a little and explained how he didn’t have the money to afford a car seat right now and that he had been running into some tough times,” Scaglione told ABC News today. “So I said, ‘Hey, could you follow me to Walmart?’ and he was a little shocked and asked me, ‘For what?’ I told him I’d be more than happy to buy the car seat for him.”

Dell said “he still couldn’t believe it” when the two of them were shopping around in Walmart and getting to know each other better.

“He purchased one for me, and it was pink, which is my daughter’s favorite color,” Dell said. “It has butterflies and she loves it.”

Dell said he hopes that people who hear his story “learn to never judge a book by its cover” and “realize there are still good people out there going above and beyond to protect you and make sure you’re still alright.”

Scaglione said he was just doing his job and asks anyone uplifted by the story “to just pay it forward.”

“You know, a ticket doesn’t help all the time,” the officer said. "I’ve been in a tough situation like this guy before. I figured it’d be better to help him out and just raise more awareness about car safety rather than give him a ticket that would dig him deeper in a hole and make things worse for him.

Man Carries Out Road-Rage Argument On Hood Of Another Car

Road rage isn’t always the easiest thing to communicate with other drivers, since noise and traffic flow tend to drown out the words—unless, of course, a person hops out of the car and carries out the argument while riding on hood of another. That happened on Florida on Tuesday, making for some odd videos.

Bystanders and local businesses caught the whole incident on camera, which witnesses told ABC10 started with two road goers getting into an argument at rush hour. It’s hard to believe how determined the man riding on the hood is to get his argument across, so here are a few clips:

According to ABC10, witnesses said the man on top of the car was originally in a black sedan and got out in order to argue with the driver of the Volkswagen in the videos above. He wound up on the hood of the Volkswagen, and the video above shows the car making a U-turn from the center lane and cutting off another vehicle with the man still hanging on.

ABC10 added that another person tried to pull the man off of the car, but he didn’t give up. There are no reports of when the man actually dismounted from the vehicle, but odds are that he got his entire argument in before doing so.

An investigation of the incident is underway, per ABC10, but there’s currently no official police report. It’ll be interesting to see what they find, since it seems as if this guy was incredibly comfortable riding on the hood of a U-turning car.

But hey, it is Florida, where folksbust through walls in attempts to time travel and pull their kid’s loose tooth out by flooring it in a Camaro. Perhaps people are just not afraid of anything in those parts.
