A Florida man accidentally shot and killed an 18-year-old woman while role-playing in what he called a “freaky sex” session, police said.

Tyrone Fields, 21, called 911 early Nov. 7 to report he’d shot a woman he had met two days earlier in the head in a room at Tampa’s Regency Inn and Suites, according to an arrest report from the Tampa Police Department. The woman, later identified as Christina Meagher, died at a nearby hospital.

She asked Fields to put his 9 mm gun to her head and he took out the pistol’s magazine but forgot to remove a bullet in its chamber, he told investigators.

“The defendant stated that he intentionally pulled the trigger as part of the role-play, and the handgun fired a single round into the victim’s head,” according to the report. He was lying on top of Meagher but wasn’t having intercourse with her at the time, Fields told investigators.

Tyrone Fields, 21, is charged with felony manslaughter with a weapon after he told police he accidentally shot a woman in the head during what he referred to as “freaky sex” at a Tampa motel, police said.

He had told them he thought her first name was Christina, and police later identified her by checking her driver’s license and showing her next of kin pictures of her tattoos.

Security cameras at the hotel and an autopsy confirmed the pair entered the Church Ave. motel room consensually and ruled out any sexual battery in Meagher’s death, police said. Fields is now incarcerated in Hillsborough County jail on felony manslaughter with a weapon charges, inmate records show.

Meagher’s cousin Nathan Bradley told WFTS-TV that he hopes “she wasn’t in pain” when she died.

Fields dialed 911 to alert police he had accidentally shot the woman in the head in a room at Tampa’s Regency Inn and Suites, police said.

“That just flipped my whole head around, like I honestly don’t know what to believe anymore,” Bradley said. “She loved to have fun. She couldn’t listen to anything anybody told her, but she was her. Everybody loved her for it.”

A lawyer listed as Fields’ attorney, Charles Inman, declined to comment on the case.

George Zimmerman’s Twitter account was suspended Thursday after his social media rants turned into what looked like revenge porn. The Florida man acquitted in the fatal 2012 shooting of black teen Trayvon Martin posted nude pictures and contact information of a woman he called “Heather” who he claimed had stolen from him and cheated on him with “a dirty Muslim.” Zimmerman, who lists his hometown as Casselberry in the Orlando area, lives in a state that is one of 26 with laws against revenge porn. The “@TherealGeorgeZ” account showed two different naked photos and an email address for the woman Thursday afternoon.

“This is Heather,” the first of two tweets about her read. “She cheated on me with a dirty Muslim.” He added a phone number and told his 15,500 followers, “She’ll sleep with anyone.”
Minutes later, he continued, “Did I go to far? I won’t even mention that she stole a gun and cash from me.”

Zimmerman, 31, didn’t immediately respond to a voicemail on a number associated with him or a message on Twitter. There were no immediate responses to a phone call and an email to the number and address he listed, though a woman’s voicemail said the Daily News had reached “Heather.” It wasn’t known whether the tweets broke the state’s anti-cyberharassment law, which went into effect Oct. 1. The law defines sexual cyberharassment as publishing “a sexually explicit image of a person that contains or conveys the personal identification information of the depicted person to an Internet website without the depicted person’s consent, for no legitimate purpose, with the intent of causing substantial emotional distress to the depicted person.”

Most of us like to think of ourselves and our cars as a team. We look out for them, they look out for us. There’s limits, though, as 57-year old Cathy Bernstein learned, when her Ford Focus called 911 after she hit a truck and a van and fled the scene, according to news reports. It’s pretty sad when your car is the one with the conscience.

Police in Florida (of course) say Bernstein hit the truck, and then rear-ended a minivan before leaving the scene. Her Focus was equipped with Ford’s 911 Assist system, part of Ford’s SYNC offerings. The 911 Assist uses a paired Bluetooth phone to contact 911 in the event of an accident, as determined by the car’s sensors, police said.

After the car called 911, the dispatcher called Bernstein to confirm:

Dispatcher: … your car called in saying you’ve been involved in an accident. It doesn’t do that for no reason. Did you leave the scene of an accident?

Bernstein: No, I would never do that.

Well, never, except for this time, when you did, lady. So, if you’re keeping track, we’re at two substantial, illegal lies and/or actions from the driver, and the car’s moral track record is still spotless.

Bernstein was arrested. So far, there’s no word if the car will get any sort of special civilian vehicle commendation or award. The lesson here? If you want to do something bad, make sure your car is either in on it or too old and dumb to squeal on you.

Much as it’s fun to laugh at someone who was reported by their own car, the part where she hit a truck, and then proceeded to rear ended a minivan is what reminds you that this is Florida.

Deputies arrived on the scene at around 2am on November 13 and began to look for the men, using K-9 units and even a helicopter to try and track the pair. They both managed to evade authorities however, and Riggins even called his girlfriend during the chase to let her know what was happening and to tell her he was laying low. Unfortunately, he decided to lay low near the edge of Barefoot Bay pond and was reported as missing by his family that same day. ‘He probably went into the lake to hide from the officers and the dog, and came across that gator,’ said Major Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – A Jacksonville man is facing a 120-year sentence for firing two shots that caused no injuries, The Florida Times-Union reported on Sunday.

The trial of Army Veteran Randal Ratledge, 58, is scheduled to start with jury selection on Monday. Defense attorneys have asked the judge to waive the mandatory guidelines, but court officials said Judge Jack Schemer is bound by the state law.

Ratledge, 58, was charged with six counts of aggravated assault after a 2012 incident involving his neighbors. Authorities said Rutledge fired shots in the air and screamed profanities at the six neighbors. He was charged with one count of aggravated assault on each of the neighbors.

Under Florida’s 10-20-Life law, anyone convicted of a crime involving the firing of a gun gets a prison sentence of at least 20 years. Defense attorneys say Ratledge had a bad reaction to the sleep medication Ambien and didn’t know what he was doing when he threatened the neighbors.

The thing that makes it Florida though is the fact that it involves medication.
