I’m assuming this is probably not possible now, but is chaining to close MP still safe?
I’m not having a great low game with bryan with cr LK, but if I could do crLK sMP chains that would be quite a boost.
i think bryan is solid, i don’t think he is bottom 3 like i’ve read… the fisherman’s hook nerf affects his damage (and removes some fun cambos) but whatever i like flying around with mach punch, overhead, and step kick.
c.lk to cl.mp is def safe. Bob has a similar chain to cl.mp that is completely safe. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure all of Bryan’s shit is too slow to combo off of the chain, like Bob can, but it is a safe chain.
Actually it’s the combo I mentioned earlier when I quoted your post, it only does one less damage starting from a raw j.hp, but does more in a tag cancel.

Is it me or is far st.hk pretty good? I’ll do something like cr.mp, cr.mp, st.mp and then either the far st.hk or Mach Breaker (been punished by Chun and Vegan for this) as a pressure string and it’s worked out pretty well. I’m not sure if my timing was late or there’s that much of a gap, but sometimes I would trade when I’m doing the st.mp. Still, it puts you at a good range for the far st.hk. I was trying to find something to get me far back enough to do a max distance Mach Breaker but couldn’t find anything. I found that after a back throw, you can back dash and then time a meaty Mach Breaker which I believe is safe but I’m not sure. Regardless, I’m only on day two but I’m starting to get a feel for the character.
Is there accurate frame data anywhere for Bryan?
Did you guys see the difference in recovery for EX mach breaker!? Its super easy to confirm of the wall bounce unlike before the patch were it was a little difficult. I usually do cl mp, cr HP then flying knee for damage, It could be useful for pandora combos as well, time will tell though.
i haven’t tried any real EX mach breaker combos, but seeing as it’s one of the more damaging options after step kick series, i might use it (not hard to confirm either)
Actually you can get a ton more damage off of EX Mach Breaker if you do f.mk,mp,lp,mp, Mach Breaker after it.
Yeah I miss the f+mk too much : ((( whats the damage differnce between cls.mp,cr.hp xx knee and gatling combo?
Also post launch I found a new option but its pretty hard
st.hp xx dash cancel, cr.hp xx knee does 327 from raw launch…
other wise you can do, st.mp,gatling combo -> mach breaker for 343

Bryan Struggles against character with strong pressure, and he also has issues against pretty much anyone really opening them up. And neutral jumping… Im pretty sure all of his reversals are throwable, so thats fun too.
Also, I play Bryan on Point, cause Paul on point is balls. Lol
Also Bryan, Paul is nice any hit if you have the meter (or if you boost combo) is right around 400 damage : )
Bryan on point isn’t bad, you’re going to be forcing them to block a lot of your strings and build up meter at a good rate.
I play Bryan as anchor because:
-his options are so significantly expanded with meter: ex knee dive for fireballs full screen (I believe it still doesn’t have startup projectile invincibility)
—ex fisherman’s hook for reversal attacks or ex rekka if I can afford to eat a hit (better option imo)
—ex mach breaker increases damage significantly
—super for full screen fireball/whiff punish
-I’d rather zone and footsie with a character that is stronger in those departments and bring in Bryan on my own terms to avoid being rushed down as much as possible.
I was thinking about making a second team composed of Poison on point and Bryan on anchor. Poison to zone and build that meter, then switch in to bryan for the damage and to use some of the meter ive built up. Also, poison can help me lame it out if need be.

It is a very good team for space control and neutral game antics, Poison is criminally underrated, but it will suffer in the damage area especially with the damage buffs speeding up the game, so you’ll need to be confident in your fundamentals.
That being said how good is Bryan at getting people into the corner? A lot of his moves push people far I know but how much space does he give up playing his neutral game? I ask because Poison’s corner pressure is so strong that if you can get them there you won’t need any super damaging combos.

Yeah I was planning on mach breaker combos for the corner push or even comboing into snake pit > tag cancel to poison if I want to switch bryan out for whatever reason. Doing this I also get a nice jump in combo with poison from snake pit.

Think I found his most optimal combo off of EX Mach Breaker: cl.mp, walk, cl.mp, c.hp xx caaaawwww
Does 399 if EX Breaker is done off of Gatling first…that’s a hell of a lot of damage for a bar.
