I played with my friend today and lost to Ammy. He used his slow hyper, brought the whip and constantly harassed me. Is there a way to get out of the whip trap? Would advancing guard help me get her off my back? That whip is kind of cheap in someway.
yikes, I wouldn’t even WANT to try that online… weapon switching IMO, seems like something that, if you can do it, cool, but if you can’t it’s not really a big deal. Although because she starts every match in Reflector, I DO find her Reflector>Glaive combo switch useful… not that her switch is even really punishable (unless you’re stupid about it) it does more damage, and switches to the weapon I wanted anyway
The big advantage of the weapon switch is being able to get the OTG glaive attack after starting with her disc sequence.
Not really. She can do just as much damage without switching to glaive and there are lots of OTG assists.
Or you could cancel into slow and mix them up.
Thanks to everyone who gave me insight into my troubles with the bnb into super. In the end it looks like I just wasn’t cancelling the :h: into shuffle fast enough.
For the glaive bnb :h::d::h::qcf::l:
:h::qcf::l:
:s: etc, I’ve always had trouble getting the
after the :qcf::l:, especially if you start the combo right next to the dummy in the corner. It seems that if you use :l: before the
:h: the timing becomes much more lax. The only downsides are that the :l: probably won’t reach if you start the combo midscreen with the
from max range and you sacrifice a bit of damage due to scaling.
On another note, is anyone finding Ammy to be a more technical character than you’ve bargained for? I mean the basic combos aren’t exactly super difficult or anything, but I’m finding little things aren’t as easy as I first expected them to be; like my earlier problem cancelling the final :h: into shuffle or the second timing in the glaive bnb.
It all depends on how you play.
Since I prefer to zone/chip with a mix of Glaive/Rosary, the challenge is more about proper spacing and timing Sent assist calls then technical combo execution.
dev, how are you getting into glaive/rosary against rushdown based teams? i know there are many theoretical ways i just want to know how someone that mains the lame finds are the best ways… lol.

Got a question for the ammy boards - I’ve noticed that if I have her on my team and I use her cold star assist she has to come out - switch ‘stances’ do the cold star - and then switch back.
Well, suppose I switched to that stance and tagged her out - would that make the assist be a little bit faster?
I can’t check because I’m stuck at school most of the day - thanks!
ill try it now for you
thank you kindly sir - thinking about adding ammy to my team for more cartwheel captain shenanigans
she still stance switches into the same stance but isnt punishable during it
So it’s essentially the same either way yeah?
She does a little “spark” or something when she is airborne. It does hit the opponent before she begins to barrage them with the projectile. Unforntately it doesn’t really combo. At least it doesn’t when I try to OTG using Wesker’s Samurai Edge. I would do it, then she would do the little spark/change causing them to reel back.
I need tips fighting Sentinel… would beads/runaway work better? Or should I be brave and use the Glaive to rush that stupid robot down? She really can’t afford to get caught in a brain dead Sentinel combo.
Do reflector-paper trap on his guard (F+H cancel into l or m paper, M to get back in) If he blocks, he’s screwed. Assists help too. Most important thing is to be smart while running in.
Beads work well also, I have never had success with glaive vs a sent, but maybe someone else has?
Glaive is the big sword right? the medium stance switch?
I use the one she starts off with fine air dash into sentinel and hold back to air block if he tries to launch block and use paper slips inbetween all the explosions and go to town just be prepared for his high low bullshit and beware of super armor really that really makes shit hit the fan
I wonder if she has any normals that beat his super armor, probably not since she has the whip which I can see giving him nightmares.
Does a jumping :h: or :s: work like it did in MvC2? There doesn’t seem like anything that beats that stupid armor whenever I’m airborne. At most I trade or lose with jumping beads. Can’t afford to TRADE anything with her crappy health.
Im confused, I never played marvel 2. If your referring to sentinels :s: then know that it has hyper armor and will beat everything you throw at it.
Depends on how they start. If they close in, then it’s either try to get a combo into knockdown/launch then stance switch or block/AG then stance switch. If they don’t close up, then I buffer the switch with an assist call (:d::a1:,:d:/:h:).
Awesome advice with standing M, Dime. That move is goddess-tier. I don’t even feel the need to hit confirm that hard anymore anyway, I feel like another CH M is just around the corner. This is crazy.
