Brook Converters Thread

@Prince_of_eBay
Please plugged in PC to check what’s the device in the printer and device.

Hmm, so this probably isn’t a big deal (since I assume that I can ask around and procure an old PS3 controller to complete the step) but has anyone been able to do the firmware update on the Brook PS3->PS4 converter when the only device that they have is a PS360+ device?

Currently I’m stalled at the step where I need to input the button combination. It says that I can use the directional button instead of L3 after the driver update, but I’m not having any luck. I’m holding down P1 and P2 when plugging in the PS360+ controller to put it into forced PS3 mode and I know this usually works (since it works in SFV as a PS3 legacy controller). Seems like in the situation of PS360+ -> White Brook Converter -> PC during the firmware update something is off that I’m doing.

If the alternative directional isn’t working to enter update mode then your adapter didn’t ship with one of the more recent updates that implemented that feature

Ahh, that makes sense. Time to track down a PS3 pad then.

Dear GOGO.Zippy , i want to receive your magic message. Because i am using xbox 360 to ps4 brook, i also using stick but no L3 when i want to update my brook. Thanks

Why do you all need the magic message, just hold left on the stick instead. It works. I’ve done it with two different devices.

Okay. So I had a Brooks 360->PS4. It setup with no errors and worked great on my sticks. My buddy asked me to pick one up for him (its hard for him to get into nyc). All they had yesterday and videogamesny was the X360/XONE -> PS4. I didn’t mind spending the extra $10 and keeping the more useful one, so I gave him my first one.

So this morning I’m setting up the new X360/XONE -> PS4. I’m on Windows 7. I plug it in and do the manual driver update with no issues. I run “A” and put the dongle into update mode. When I did that, windows recognized it as a different device (HID-Compliant device). It stayed on the “please plug in controller” screen for a good 30-60 seconds while it was trying to figure things out with windows, and then went through.

I hit the update button and it failed.

What I then did was do a driver update on “HID Compliant device” and pointed it at the Brooks driver folder. The driver update “worked” in the sense that windows said we were cool, but it didn’t change anything to “lab zero” or whatever. Unaffected, I went ahead and tried the update and this time it worked. Not sure if it was the drivers that did it or what, but maybe that will help someone if they are stuck.

PS - I’m an IT professional, so while I can’t send magic messages, if zippy isn’t around, feel free to hit me up for help/troubleshooting, I’m always happy to try.

I know left button to replace the L3, but it does not work for me. USB driver installed and no problem. Only problem is cannot use L3 or left button to update . Thx for help.

@richglix
Every converters owned different firmware to do. I suggested you should use the same ( A ) patch file on two devices.
Please choice correct file to update again.

To fix timeout … Only updated A patch file.

If you need a message, I can send to U…^.^

Help. I dont know what I did but when i put my xbox to ps4 converter in my pc it reads as HID Transfer. I just want the converter to work on my razr stick.

@Harlemhero
Is it X360 to PS4 converter?

yes when it’s plugged in my pc it says HID Transfer not ps4 wired gamepad

We’ve just banned Dual Shocks and legacy mode at our weekly and someone asked me if they should use a PS3-PS4 or a 360-PS4 Brook converter with their Qanba Q4. I realised I hadn’t ever thought about it.

Is there a preference?

How’s the Dillips taking that? :stuck_out_tongue:

Just wondering if anyone here could help me with the following problem:

I have noticed that plugging my PS360+ into the 360->PS4 converter will have it autodetect to 360 mode, with the player LEDs working correctly, but no buttons or directions will work. Forcing 360 mode with 2P when plugging it in will have the same effect. Only plugging the board in with 2P+2K held down will have my PS360+ boards work correctly.

My main issue with using the 2P+2K forced mode is that for some reason it switches the L1/L2/R2 buttons around deviating from controller defaults. Ideally, I would like to use the usual 360 modes with the converter.

Is this how the converter is working for everyone with PS360+s? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

@GOGO.Zippy

if your stick works fine with converter, you don;t update B patch…

it worked when i first tested it until the 8 min time out. after the update it now doesn’t recognize the converter at all. what would you recommend? is there a way to do the update again without a L3 button? thank you
