Brook Converters Thread

Can anyone attest for the compatibility of the Brooks xbox one to ps4 adapter with the Xbone Razer Atrox? Thanks ahead of time.

I missed the Evo reveal but did they say anything about Brook Converters being legal?

Far as I know no announcement is made one way or another yet.

Can anyone confirm if PS360+ works with that X360/XB1 - PS4 (green one)?

Yes, works perfectly

“Buyer beware” was their stance. From how they put it, if they aren’t patched out (by Sony/MS), they’ll be allowed. If they are, they’re banned. Not sure why they’d be banned if that were the case, as if they don’t work then… they don’t work.

Thankfully, it seems like Brook has been very quick to update the firmware for the converters everytime Sony/MS release an update that “breaks” the converters.

Focus Attack LLC Tweeted that Brook adaptors will be legal at EVO if Sony doesn’t update & try to patch them out:

Today I confirmed that the PS2 HRAP & HRAP2 work on the PS4 with the PS2-PS3/4 Brook adaptor.

Can cheap aftermarket ps3 controllers be used to update the ps3-ps4 converter? all of my ds3’s are on a moving truck halfway across the country and I don’t really want to go spend another $50 if I don’t have to.

Has anyone used the white brook convertor (ps3 -> ps4) with a wired dualshock 4? Does it make it operate in “ps3” mode where the home button is disabled? This would be really really nice for tournaments, if it prevents the ds4 from syncing up with the ps4 this could actually be a life saver for TO’s and players, since the current usage is a nightmare.

i have a afterglow pad that works

it works

Can’t seem to get the white brook PS3->PS4 to work with a MadCatz TE1 stick (x360) modded with TEasy Strike (firmware 3.3.1) in PS3 as default mode. No lights or connection on the stick. What a bummer.

I apologize if it has been answered before, but I assume there is no difference between X1/X360->PS4 and the X360->PS4 in supported peripherals, except the added support for X1 in the first one?

Ps3 -> Ps4 adaptor doesn’t work correctly with Virtua Stick High Grade. It randomly disconnects, directions are swapped for the diagonals on the D-Pad and buttons only work if two of them are pressed at the same time.

Anyone with the same problem? Is there any solution?

Please help!!

There obviously isn’t a mac or linux updater. Since Sony will likely be patching these converters out with each and every firmware update from now on, you can pretty much expect every single new converter will have to be updated out of the box.

I couldn’t find anything earlier in the thread, so I do apologise if this has already been addressed, but I’m having trouble having my X360/XBONE > PS4 Brook converter recognise my Hitbox (PS360+ v1.65). I’ve tried holding down the force 360 macro when plugging it into the converter itself, but this does nothing. Any advice or resources that could be of help?

The original VSHG pcb was completely fucked to begin with on certain games like Tekken 5, such as the button issue you describe. It might be this that’s glitching out your adapter.

It might be possible to fix it with firmware, but Brook will have trouble finding the different revisions of pcb that Sega made. I’d personally recommend that you replace the VSHG pcb with something like a ZD Encoder or Cthulhu, but it will take a fair bit of work… Alternatively just install a Brook PS4 Fightboard pcb.

Does BROOK have any plans to support XB1/PS4 hitbox in future firmware updates?

Should my USB extension cable be USB 2.0 or USB 3.0? Does it matter?

2.0, there no reason you should use 3.0 cabling.

Very easy explanation. If the converters have been blocked by Sony then they’ll work for 8min. and then timeout meaning that anyone using one of these would be their own schedule killer and they don’t want to deal with that.
