Brook Converters Thread

Could you please help me? I’ve done everything correctly so far and I’ve installed all the updates but when I try to do the logout sequence I can’t get the stick to glow blue again. I’ll do the button sequence and the light will go from blinking purple to solid red, but when I hold down L3 and then tap the home button while holding it, the color goes back to blinking purple and asks me to update again. Please help, I’m scared to remove the stick without exiting update mode.

Please follow combo key to enter and exit updating mode.
While you updated successful, LED will stop flashing to sodid purple.

If your converter works with controller/stick, you couldn’t update B patch and Zeroplus USB Driver.

Only updated A patch file to fix issue on V3.15
Like below video file…

Tried that but didn’t work. My Converter didn’t show up like yours did it shows up like this now ]http://imgur.com/uANal9l . I can get the USB input device to be a zeroplus device but the HID compliant device won’t work with the zeroplus driver or let me use the same Xbox one controller install file I used originally.

Alright I tried again and it just goes from red to solid purple and when I remove the usb it is still solid purple and does not register as a ps4 gaming device like it previously prior to this. I’ve included video to show what is happening.Is the problem stemming from the fact that I updated it with the B patch first since it was the older firmware? Or is stemming from something else?

Does the white PS3 to PS4 converter work with a PS3 Round 1 TE? It’s not indicated on the first post under PS3 sticks unlike the 360 variant for their 360 to PS4 converter.

@RedTag14
It already works fine with popular PS3 stick.

Yes it does work. The Madcatz TE is on the front page though under the PS3 section.

This work on a p3-p4?

Has anyone tried using one of these with a VLX Kitty modded 360 stick on PS4? I’ve looked around a bit and it seems like it isn’t supported.

Anyone who uses one of these converters with a PS360+: Does the PS360+ autodetect the side needing converting or do you need to manually set the side needing converting by holding the requisite buttons on plug-in? Like say I buy the PS3->PS4 converter, does the PS360+ automatically go into PS3 mode?

Hi all,

I have an old Hori RAP EX (for 360) and wish to use the Brook 360-> PS4 converter to make it work with PS4… but this stick is not listed on the “supported device” page of brook.

I send an email to Brook and asked them on Facebook, one brook guy told me ‘no’ but another me ‘it should work’. I am confused…

Has anybody tried using this stick on the 360->PS4 converter?

Thanks!

@getterwing
Brook converter can work with popular third party accessories. I think it works fine with converters.
I will purchase a stick for looking.

Not necessary. A friend of mine successfully used his hori rap ex for xbox360 with the lime green x360 to ps4.

Thanks GOGO.Zippy and machomanmo! :slight_smile:

Apologies if this has been answered before, but I have a potential problem with the PS3-to-Xbox One converter. Since I have a Hitbox with a PS360+ PCB, first thing I did was update the firmware.

On the download page, it has two firmware options: an older one labeled “PS3 to XBOX ONE 20151029”, and a newer one labeled “(OPTIONAL!)PS3 to XBOX ONE 20151225”, which installs a tournament mode to disable turbo/remap. As I intend to use this thing (and potentially a PS3-to-PS4 adapter when I get it) at tournaments, and have no interest in the turbo/remap functions, I was going to install that firmware. First, however, I installed the older firmware, just in case the Optional one needed the previous installed first (not usually the case for firmware updates, but I just wanted to make sure).

Following the instructions, the PS3 to XBOX ONE 20151029 firmware update went without a hitch (even if it was more… involved than I expected). Tested the updated converter on my Xbox One, and all good.

I then went back to install the Optional firmware for the tournament mode. While installing file -A, it… half completed Step 12. The update finished, and the converter flashed once every second, but the firmware update screen didn’t change back to the controller settings mode as it did on the previous firmware update. It just hung there. I risked bricking the thing and unplugged the converter, then plugged it back in. At this point, it switched over to the controller settings mode like normal, and I performed the steps to properly exit it.

Now comes to the worrying part. I started installing file -B, and, on Step 20 (the actual firmware update) it locked up. Gave it some time to see if it’d unstuck itself, but no go. I tried to unplug and replug it back in to see if it’d continue where it’d left of, like file -A had, but nothing. I then tried the converter in my Xbox One and, while it lit up, it wouldn’t respond to my inputs.

Hoping I didn’t brick it, I tried running the -B installation once more. It locked up at the same place again. At this point, I then went to install file -B of the previous non-tournament update, hoping it would fix it. Well, it seems like it did. The installation process went smoothly and my Xbox One now works the converter properly. However, I do not know if the tournament mode firmware is installed or not. Any ideas?

I’ve been looking into getting either a converter or brook universal board as I’d like to play on xbox one seeing as how the pc mkx has been dropped. I’m currently running a ps360+ and was just wondering what everyone thought was the better option, Brook converter (£32 ish) or the universal board (£56). Is it worth the upgrade for the new board if anyone’s had experience with both bits of tech?

Can cheap aftermarket ps3 controllers be used to update the ps3-ps4 converter? all of my ds3’s are on a moving truck halfway across the country and I don’t really want to go spend another $50 if I don’t have to.

About to buy one of these for the beta this weekend, (360 to PS4) but stopped after reading that Windows7 was required to update firmware. Only have Macs in the house. Is there any way around this?

(if anyone tells me to install windows or buy a PC, I will Jay and Silent Bob you)

Why isn’t the firmware up to date on the product?

I was reading over this thread and noticed some issues with dual modded sticks early on. I have an Xbox360 Madcatz TE that I modded for a friend with a Cthulhu and Imp (or Chimp, it has been a long time) and he wants to use it on a PS4. I am wondering if anyone has tried the Chimp with a PS3->PS4 adapter or X360->PS4 adapter. Or are there no issues because the control boards themselves are supported?

I am also looking to know if a TE Kitty works with Brook adapters. Can anyone confirm?
