Brook Converters Thread

I’m not going anywhere. Welcome to the real world, where the opinions of others may be different than your own.

Never bashed anything, I simply prefer one test over the other. The scientist in me wants to see the results of a test with a smaller margin of error.

I’m entitled to my own opinion, as are you. If you don’t like it, you can hit the Ignore button. :sunglasses:

Why ignore you now? That comedy is golden.

Now can we get back to talking about the Brook adapter.
What be perfect is we can source a short like 5 or 6 inch USB extension cable, keeps the weight of the adapter dongle off the USB ports.
Maybe the nice Brook folks consider offering very short USB extensions.

Just wanted to let you know that the Spartan Locke Xbox one crontroller still works (3.5mm audio jack), but the Elite Xbox one controller does not work.

Also will you be supporting the wireless USB adapter for the PC in order to make the Xbox one controllers wireless while playing on PS4?

I like the PS2 version because it eliminates the need for the USB extension. Sometimes it pays to be old school.

I appreciate your test but you were counting slow and then fast on different spots of the test.

I’d acknowledge your test if you would do it with a timer on the screen instead of the way you did it.

@IanMoone
I’m waiting for XBOX wireless adapter and Elite controller from local retailer… BROOK is going to look and update ASAP…

Guys… Please go back and read the comments from page 6 after I first posted the test. It will bring some clarity to this. On a another note, the lag is really minimal for an adapter - so it’s a good solution for home use and can extend the life of some of your older sticks. I mean we’re talking about 1 millisecond here. Monitor lag typically add more lag than this. If you are serious about competing (even online), then I suggest investing in a new A-tier ps4 stick, but for most people these will be more than adequate to play on.

Dude. Really? Counting faster or slower doesn’t matter with the test I was doing. I’m hitting the right arrow key to advance one frame of the video shot at 60fps. The light turns on, Hit right arrow until I see the first frame of animation. In pretty sure tapping a keyboard key faster or slower won’t make a difference in the result…

You can hear his keyboard click as he counts in the video.
The method Jonyfraze used is a simplefied version to the kits Ben heck sells to game developers for Lag testing.
Except with Ben Heck, there this board with LEDs representing all the buttons and even showing how hard the analogs are pressed.
And he testing the latency in the games code, while Jonyfraze is testing the latency in the controller PCb or in out case the brook adapter.

@el_Principe - Dafuq are you talking about, dude?

lol you’re super late. Don’t worry, your friend will be just fine. Conversation moved forward already.

Anyway, really digging the Ben Heck demo. I’ve never seen that before. (yes, I have been living under a rock, I know…)

I’m having problems updating from V11 to V14. I connected the converter without the controller connected to it but this screen won’t change

@fohstick
You selected a warning device to install Zeroplus USB Driver, the correct VID_0C12
Please look your Inbox from me

BROOK FB page posted latest version …

thanks for the quick reply

Anyways, I got it working now. For the adapter to be detected by the V14 software, you need to exit the V13 software quickly. After the V13 software says “update is successful”, input the 3 button combinations (adapter will change from BLUE to RED and then back to BLUE). When it shines back to BLUE, immediately exit the V13 software

VID_0C12 is indeed the correct hardware ID, but for some reason, it changed to VID_0416 - probably because I reset the computer to get a PS3 controller to begin the V13 update

(1) Step 1. update > ZPPN001-A_V11_20151021_Touchpadkey.exe
(2) Step 2. install ZEROPLUS Driver , please check OS version 32 or 64-bit
(3) Step 3. B file > ZPPN001-B_V14_20151013.exe without PS3 controller

if you have any question, please let me know.

Hey guys,
I read the thread and some early reports state that the old madcatz ps3 TE does not work with the white ps3>ps4 converter, but seeing how there has been a number of firmware updates since than, can anyone answer if the converter will let me use
The Madcatz Round 1 PS3 TE on PS4/PC?? (The first TE to come out on PS3)

Also, has anyone tried using the converter on a playstation TV to see if it detects it as a ps4 controller??

@jumpman3
Below link for white converter’s latest version.
Please look.updated instructions before doing.
(1) Step 1. Plug-in converter with PS3 Ps3 controller.
(2) Step 2. unzip> ZPPN001-A_V11_20151021_Touchpadkey and run…folow process to enter and exit updated.
(3) Step 3. Remove Ps3 controller from.converter.

Just updated my firmware to V14, and I can confirm that the converter now works with the Cerberus mod too!! I didn’t even have to manually boot into ps3 mode. The stick works the instant it is plugged in. Thanks GOGO Zippy and the Brook team for continuous support of their products!

@LazieFreddy thanks for the update… I’ll update the front page…

interesting, i’ll have to check these out
