Honestly, the great part about an outside company trying to become involved in the FGC means that we don’t have to be entirely dependent on the products that are dependent on the community (ie. stick companies like Hori, MadCatz, etc.). It could be other products in the future. And if it makes it possible for players like LI Joe to travel comfortably and make it out to more tournaments and events, then it’s amazing and I am completely fine with that. Wearing a shirt with the ZZ logo will not hurt people. If people are worried about kids being exposed to that product, then that’s the parent’s responsibility for what they want their kids to see, not the FGC. It’s known that you can’t please everyone and there will always be people that get offended by something. Right now at the end of the day, it’s one person that will inevitably be endorsed by a company. Condoms and lube aren’t being given out at events (yet). And if Brazzers has a tournament, it’ll be 18+, no brainer.
Considering EVO is held in the #2 porn capital of the country(since Cali is #1) it was bound to happen.
I definitely support what you said in Joe’s stream, I wish people were a little more logical and less devil-may-care about the whole situation. This isn’t exactly what the community needs right now.

LI Joe does collaborate and organize ECT and he attends a lot. I think with Joe at least supervising and guiding the Brazzers crew along the way, we’ll have something pretty unique here. So what if porn stars show up to FGC events to help promote the FGC along with their brand? I think they are branching out to parties and other stuff, it’s not just pornography. If something like that happens, I think the FGC can easily show the eSports side that we can treat women with plenty of respect.
Time will tell. I’m almost neutral for this cuz I’m kinda excited for it, at the same time I wouldn’t want this to tarnish the general respect and perception of the FGC. They’re a big brand in the adult entertainment industry. A lot of girls big name or not work in there. I can see some of these girls possibly showing up to promote tame stuff. They could be like booth babes and all.
Owen Good and the “moral crusaders” at Kotaku and rot in hell. I hope this opens new doors for other sponsors.

They come a long way and now that they are running a business its no way they gonna let porn sponsors set them back. tbh I wonder if this blows up like it has the potential to if they can really stop without blatantly “hating” or saying porn/porn sponsors are not welcome at evo/road to evo events.
I was betting on the first weird/darkhorse/badass sponsor being some sort of restaurant/fast food type of place. Was looking forward to seeing some street fighter action figures in my happy meals. But honestly, some food places host tourneys and stuff, so it didn’t seem like that much of a stretch.
I gotta say though if this is legit it blows my wildest dreams out of the fucking water. I foresee a promotion for the person at Brazzers who looked at the fgc and actually thought “wow, what a sausage fest…$$$!”

What hurts us most I feel is that there is no executive body for the FGC but these sites and blogs don’t really acknowledge that, so anything one of us does can colour all of us and there is no defense against it. Nobody wants to hear about all the times the fgc community pulled together to help out individuals with financial hardships or w/e and it’s a damn shame. the best thing that can happen is loads of different sponsors popping up so at the very least we’ve got too many targets to take shots at for any of it to really matter.
Of course not, most gamers dont even know how to live that lifestyle…they get ate alive but porn chicks. i wouldn’t expect to see any kind of “porn chick” at anything but a Brazzers event.
If they play it smart this could be really huge, I got people talking about going to the 1s tournament already and its not even set in stone.
There’s a difference between EVO being sponsored by companies like Capcom, MadCatz and etc and Brazzers sponsoring just a player or two. They wouldn’t tack on every single sponsored players company I think. I mean there’s probably a few random “sponsored” players that join the tournaments but they don’t just toss those up on the EVO banner.
