Well, the Tea Party newsletter, which I’m not even sure how I got signed up, does get fruitier and more belligerent each day.
I actually read it like I read xkcd. Laugh a little bit, and then shrug a bunch when I don’t get it.
On that note, look forward to copycat crimes. They usually start up within a week of the original, almost 100% correlated with how much media coverage there is… usually a lot.

I understand that people are just venting, I just wish that people got this enraged at the real criminals in this world, responsible for the sorts of crimes that are more devastating than simple explosions, the kinds of crimes that deprive generations of entire populations of people from food, medicine, security, the right to self determination…
People like this guy… not to be making excuses for them, but they tend to be really messed up. Either because of mental problems that haven’t been identified or serious shit that’s fucked them up. They’re not truly evil. They’re not truly self-serving.
It’s the self-serving mother fuckers who sit at the top of the tower and allow our situation to just get worse and worse while they get fatter and fatter. They’re the truly evil sons of bitches who need to be brought low.
I partially agree on the basis that the people who lost limbs were probably determined to walk away from the marathon today, and now can’t, so this is in a similar vein. However, I do agree on your other basis, and considering how much attention I give the NK crisis, I think it’s safe to say that I do get this enraged at human rights violations, in fact, I’m more enraged and saddened by them than this tragedy.

Listening to 5live this morning, they were interview a family friend of the 8 year boy that was killed. He mentioned that the sister lost her leg in the explosion. He also commended the bravery of the first responders, he also got to meet and thank the fireman that rescued the girl.
The only good thing that can come of this, is if Westboro comes to picket the funerals.
Because Bostonites will tear them something wicked awesome, to the point where they won’t be able to do anything ever again.
That… actually wouldn’t be a good thing. WBC chooses the events it pickets because they want someone to infringe on their rights so that they can sue. If some angry mob chose to beat them mercilessly they would welcome it because they’d be indirectly funding future endeavors.

You do realize that police will be around, correct? Police would then be forced to do their jobs and make arrests. If the police do nothing, that works even more in their favor because they’d file suit against the police.

I feel like someone from backwoods Alabama is shouting racism while the rest of the world is speaking “rationality.” Nothing against Bama though. I actually kind of like the place. Couldn’t live there but it’s a great place to go fishing.
These people could be NYC Yuppies for all I know but… I’ll leave that to a rebuttal.
