And think it not being optional is completely balanced. Did you see the damage difference from a full-life hyper and a red-life powered Nova hyper. Seth wasn’t exaggerating when he said it could get comparable to a lvl3.
Well, if Maximum and Minimum are out… would we be able to use Median Nova? Average Nova? Remainder Nova? Mean Nova? Prime Number Nov-- Red Rick Dias is shot mid-post
Not sure How HSD will affect it, but his short combos do a ton of damage and that jumping :s: has pretty nice priority and I can pick that ass up off the ground after a hit… I know I will use it against Hulk Standing :h: and Sent crouching for the multiple hits to beat out their armor… Probably against other characters with good Air to Ground normals. Also not sure it had been stated but you can start combos off of all clean centurion arts hits… on the ground or … in the air. Yep Nova for team Captain.
I think you are right and its not optional I havent seen otherwise either. Everytime he uses gravimetric Beam he loses red health and I have never seen nova force take red health. the shield always takes red health from what I have seen but only when its enough to make a difference. Example if you take a jab punch then do Gravimetric Pulse shield nothing happens you keep red life if you just got whupped and do it the shield is larger and you lose the health.
Edited to add My buddy Dennis is there at NYCC… Hes the idiot dressed up as the black wolverine… Dont ask I have no clue.
Hmm. So, someone was speaking to me earlier and suggesting MvC3 (regular) Iron Man might be a good comparison for Nova’s movement options? Is this correct? Or is there someone in the regular MvC3 roster, in the regular MvC3 game (e.g. not Ultimate balance changes, etc.) that offers a better simulation than him?
Cool. Looks like I’ll be firing up MvC3 later tonight and messing with Iron Man and Morrigan to understand this better, then. Thank you for your help, everyone!
HOLY HELL the larger shield lasts quite a bit of time. Nova just did it on stream then did Gravimetric blaster to zeros shadows to akuma and it was still there after akuma started fighting… Hmmmm…
I really don’t think it’s going to be a problem that it isn’t optional. I mean, red life really only comes into play when you are hit as an assist, which usually ends up with that character dead. When you do take red life damage, it’s not like it’s a ton of life that you’re going to lose.
My apologies, this may be a possible re-post/old news. Seth did a second Nova and Wright demo and its video has been archived here: http://www.twitch.tv/capcomunity/b/297532323
Nova content starts around 45 minutes in. If that’s wrong, skip around +/- 2 minutes until you see Nova being the center of attention.
I dont see him as a great assist character, but theres not enough info to make that conclusion. Does anyone know what gravimetric pulse does? Is it like a shield but it also does damage?
