Blue blazes, he's AWESOME! The Nova Thread!

use the full screen move that appears to have invincibility

might work better

nova force hyper , either has a choice or don’t use red health at all

As an assist the shield appears directly in front of the point character ground level and will NOT use his red health. with nova on screen you can put the shield where ever you want in the air or ground level.

On stream today Nova placed a shield out and someone tried to jump it they didnt clear it and bounced on the shield 5 times so it seems possible.

Two of his hypers definitely use red life. The only that doesn’t is his Maximum Nova.

And like I said… does anyone have proof that using red life is optional? The first and only mention I’ve heard of it is speculation in this thread. Seth said nothing about it during his walkthrough.

I call the Maximum Nova hyper "Ping Pong swag"
Seems like a better hyper for punishing, to be honest.

Nova looking so solid. So excited to try him out.

I dont think using red health is optional which is why I would use him as anchor because red life is a weapon for him to use.

Scroll back a few pages, someone definitely posted a screenshot from the stream of Nova doing Gravimetric Blaster or Nova Force with his red life intact.

Directly in front of the character as in head level? Could it be an effective lockdown against incoming characters?

you may have to go a few pages back but I posted a image of him doing nova force hyper and you can clearly see his red life still there

don’t you think that the dash hyper won’t work well vs assists?

I wish I could keep clicking Like on Viktorkain’s post and have it keep showing I like it more and more. Thank you very much for testing this! I think I have my team now: Frank West (Unknown Assist) on point, Nova (Gravimetric Pulse shield) second, Amaterasu (Cold Star) anchor. Nova provides the defense for situations where I need to counter-shoot people, Ammy provides the lockdown during close combat. I’m good to go!

Edit: Well, I’m mostly good to go. Truth be told, outside of lab-work to confirm my stick can keep up with the movements, I am not familiar with tri-angle jumping in match use. Can someone with some educated knowledge or hands-on Nova experience (either one is fine) tell me which MvC3 (regular edition) character I should pick to get used to Nova’s movement? I wish to begin practicing for it so I can move proficiently with him immediately. It’s my understanding MvC3 regular-edition Magneto is too fast, so who is the right choice to ‘simulate Nova’ in the older version of the game?

I’ve seen that screenshot, but I’ve also watched the detailed walkthrough Seth did and he didn’t make a single mention of using the Nova Force as being optional. None. Not even a hint. That’s something rather large to just leave out. Especially when he talked specifically about that mechanic.

Thus that screenshot could be a bug.

S.Kill sometimes forgets to mention weird things in his walkthroughs. I’m going with my gut, which says it’ll be optional on the hypers, like it is on the specials.

Same spot he puts it in when hes on the ground basically Chest/head height.

I’ve gotta look out for that later. I didn’t see one shield on Stream today.

Also, what is Nova saying when he’s says some thing that sounds like “Gyu Kaku!”

How do we know it’s optional on specials? All I’ve heard about specials is that his Aegis Reflector special uses it.

Honestly, it sounds like you guys are making assumptions that are based on convenience for what you’d like to do instead of looking at this realistically. If it’s confirmed that it’s optional, then great. However, it hasn’t been. There’s been no mention that it is except for this thread. Until we get confirmation, it’s silly to think it is.

PINK TACOS!

The description I heard for Graviton pulse H was: “It makes a shield, a bigger shield if you use red life”. It doesn’t outright confirm that its optional but it heavily implies it.

Part of it too is that it not being optional would be kind of crippling anyways, I don’t think they’d do that to him.
Ive been noticing something in all of the nova vids that really has me wondering about its application, Most people jump back then do Human Rocket Punch Forward just to travel (Much Like Thors Mighty Strike) At the end of the move they press S for that Diving punch (Which should still wreck Hulks standing H) I just wonder if that move can be flight canceled because if it can I am in business. I completely expect nova to have fly/unfly combos … hell we get to see a (Very Basic) fly combo in this video a@2:13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LjJ9ahXtf_8#! Also is it just me or is his jumping S a Hard Knockdown? Same video @0:37 The only thing I know for certain is the man has some serious Potential.
i think hes talking about pulse l,m which dont only the h version uses red life but thast the only one with the shield

i still stand by the fact that nova force hyper either has a option or not even at all ive seen it a few times and its yet to take any of his health

it may have done in a eariler build or a new one than shown but current it dose not take any red life

IT IS NOVA PING PONG.

NOT MAXIMUM OR MINIMUM NOVA.

Wesker, Spidy, and Vergil wish they had as much swag as Nova.

Ah. So he’s a douche AND a pervert!

He earns a spot on my team for sure.

Remeber, Jumping :s: limits his combo potential and should be used only if there is no other option.
