Blue blazes, he's AWESOME! The Nova Thread!

Nova on point is ridiculous. Have fun doing your opponent a favor by killing your own character.

That’s the last I’m going to say about it

to be honest nova looks like he can be played anyware , I personally don’t think he really adds to the team buy being anchor his assists ain’t really worthy .using up your red life when your the last character , when you have xfactor that gives you back

but that’s just me

if were sat here arguing if he can be anchor or point then he could be both

to me if that extra damage means I lose some health to kill a derpgill or herpbrand I’m going to no matter my team order

he gets the red health boost no matter where he is one of the benefits of xfactor voids this

I think in the right hands, Nova will shine as an anchor. Look at Spencer as an example, strong character overall, probably be better as a point or second spot character since he shine well with assist, but in Combofiend’s hands, he’s one of the best closers in the game.

I see Nova fitting that bill as well, especially with the Nova Rocket hyper having invincible(?) start up. I can see Nova Rocket to blow somebody up>x-factor>combo or hyper>death. Momentum time.

If it turns out to be an omni directional Bionic Arm, that would be hilarious.

lol

don’t do the beam hyper?

On the red life issue.

  1. Given that getting hit is not something you will want to do, I don’t think focusing on it as a corner stone of Nova’s game makes alot of sense. It’s an option that will come up occaisonally.

2)Lets be honest here, in an average match, how much red life is actually recovered? One hit usually means death, and raw Tags are risky as hell, especially now that they no longer hit overhead. So burning that red life isn’t even that big a penalty in my opinion.

Man, doin’ that Nova Rocket Super and XFCing into Gravimetric Blaster would be all kindsa cool.

You can do his hypers without using red life. It’s like saying Zero on point is bad cause he dies quickly.

I don’t think they do much damage without any, though.

that’s what the speed tackle is for or giant ball

I’m going to put Nova 2nd, intentionally overuse his assist to get him damaged, and DHC into his fully powered supers. Problem, health?

I…

We…

Ye-eee-essssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss…

Thank you for confirming this! I have just two last questions: Can this assist be deployed without red health (e.g. Nova’s health bar has no red at all, because he is undamaged or has healed what he can)? Also, do we have any video footage of where the shield appears? Someone mentioned it appears at about regular jump height, making it also function as an anti-air as well as shielding you from mid-height projectiles? Is this so?

Nova is looking more and more like the perfect solution to almost every problem my team had on paper, and I am extremely excited.

Now calling the tackle hyper “Minimum Nova” since he only does 3, lol.
I would like a video comparing the different stages of damage from the red life boost though.

Has it been confirmed that enemies can be bounced off of it for Aegis Reflector combos?

If ti could do this… oh man, that’d be exciting.

Ok, it wasn’t the last thing I’m going to say

Sure don’t do the beam or Supernova hyper. Congratulations - you just lost the ability to fully punish assists from fullscreen. Imagine what the opponent will do when he/she realizes that you aren’t going to use a lot of the tools the character has that makes him good because you insist on using him first.

Class Real: It definitely hits people, if that’s what you mean. We don’t know how it pushes targets around, but if an opponent walks into it they will take a hit. Thus it shields against physical approach and some projectiles. If the height is high enough to serve as an anti-air shield too, then I will have everything I need to compensate for most of Frank’s shortcomings (based on a TvC copy-paste assumption).

I’ve got not problem burning red life, red life is pretty useless on the whole anyways.

Is there proof on this? Because I’ve yet to hear anything but convenient speculation from those who want it to be true.

If it is true, then that’s great.

Not when you’re being used on point. Having him third - then it’s pretty useless and thus expendable.
