YJDKSA on the front and U MAAAAAD on the back…
Ok mister Dick. Not new to Street Fighter. Obviously not new to SRK. Very likely have something against Mullah. I don’t expect you to reveal your identity, I do expect you to cut the whack-ass trolling out. We don’t appreciate multiple accounts for the sake of creating a fake mob of cardboard cut outs…or to make it look like you have someone willing to conversate with you.

Arrrgh, classic random-ass Blanka ultras up in here. :shake:
wakeup ultra with blanka isn’t so bad in round one, it might make your opponent think twice before attacking you on wakeup for the following matches if they think you’re the type to mash ultra when presured.
I prefer to do the opposite though, don’t ever really do wakeup ultra in the first round our two, as well as not doing wakeup reversals a few times, then bait the meaty and ultra later on.
Few Blanka videos to look over.

I eat overheads like candy and let him get out of jail free way too often.

I like this match a lot. Unfamiliar match because Gen is an uncommon character, but a well-played Gen gives Blanka problems. So much is unsafe and Gen’s jump arc in PPP stance makes safe poking a chore. I got pretty lucky in a few spots here, but you can see a good 3-4 minute stretch where I just completely ran out of ideas.

Thanks for the post vicsant. Great Blanka skill. I dont get to play against many good gen’s, but it seemed like you had a few knockdowns where you could have ultra chipped him down.
Or can Gen interrupt it?
Gen’s EX wall dive is a get out of jail free card, so on wakeups Gen can always escape a chip kill. As near as I can tell that move is completely invincible until he hits the wall. If he hits you coming down he gets ultra as well, so it’s dangerous.

Finally, a new Saikyo vid is out from Nagoya Street Battle 7!

He is still his bad-ass super agro self. It has been so long since I saw a new Saikyo vid
Good shit Viscant
Thanks for posting the vids.
Gen is one of my tougher matchups, for the same reasons Viscant mentioned.
When do you start the charge for that focus - dash - low kick - Ultra combo? I can’t seem to pull off those ‘tick’ Ultra’s that I see some of you guys doing.
What happened at 1:48 in this video. He burns the meter like he canceled out of a move but he didn’t even make contact with ryu. How is it possible to FADC a move when you dont even make contact?
i didnt get a chance to watch the video again, but i’m gonna take a guess at what you’re talking about. you can FADC out of coward crouch.
You build the charge before you hit them with the low forward. So the motion would be focus, dash and then down-back immediately after you finish the FF motion to dash. Then wait a bit while they’re stunned. For most characters you can wait until their knees touch the ground. That gives you enough time to build up the charge, then low forward, link, ultra.
It would also help if I hit that more consistently than the 1 in 3. Dunno why I tried it in a tournament match.

vs shotos and possibly others tap the punches instead of holding, it gives you negative edge chance.
strangely sometimes you can tap the punches and then hold them down during the ultra startup and it allows you to keep the ball in place, and other times it doesn’t, weird.
Excellent, thanks for the response. I’ll try this out in training mode after work.
I personally would like to see some of your videos to get a feel for what works online as opposed to offline play which has a different style. The majority of people after advice play online after all.
I look forward to watching them and “borrowing” some techniques
I’ve been noticing this too, since I’ve been playing in the arcade a lot more I’ve been missing keeping the ball in place for some reason, and in the past I typically tap the punches, let go, and then hold them down during the ultra startup animation. I used to think it was an online thing but it’s been happening in the arcade. Probably safer to just hit the buttons to activate the ultra and hold the whole time.
