Bison Labwork: setups, option-selects and unblockables (updated 4/2013)

regular roll has no invincibility. Blanka gets up 2 frames late, so you need to look at the 6-frame setups to safe jump him.

You can’t do anything to blanka if he techs after lk scissors, there just isn’t enough time.

Also, it turns out that if you crouch cancel the end of a forward dash, you gain extra forward distance.

Also some more info about that forward throw dash tech in corner.
You can get the same result off a back throw into the corner just whiff a stand short before you dash.

how is that a kara?

I suppose it’s not, considering it’s more of a dash-cancel. Just going with what was used in that video.

Found a pretty nice setup to cross up j.hp and land in front in the right corner. We all know the setup in the left corner from forward throw > whiff c.lk > j.hp. It does unfortunately not work in the right corner with forward throw.
But if you get a chance to backthrow someone in the right corner you can take a step back and j.hp and you will also land in front. This is a pretty nice tool, because you dont see it often and with normal safe jump ins in the right corner you also land in the corner. Timing for the back step is similar to the unblockable set up from back throw. I did not tested it if it is unblockable but it is pretty safe and will normaly net you a nice >300 dmg 550 stun and ongoing corner pressure. Situation could be that you corner EX PC cross up and back throw immediately in the corner. Not totaly safe but a nice variation to the classic right corner pressure.

Wow guys, the reason me and other bisons dont post here anymore is because no one really cares or makes an effort for his char or game.

Ive posted this setup 6 months ago in this exact thread, and no one actually noticed it.

Some high lvl bisons (Kim1234, Gagapa, me) posted tech, info about matchups or just helped out people.
It is up to you guys to do something with it, and lvlup. The fact that 99% doesnt lvl up really, or develops bison tech is for example the reason Kim1234 stopped posting, and its the same for me.

There is still a decent amount of tech out there that isnt posted here. I’d just like to see this forum become more focused on actually lvlin up instead of being bison fanboys.

Anyways, its not that im pissed, just a bit dissappointed that so few people take it serious to lvl up.

Do you have an alternative or another good forum where you share some Bison tech? I will start to write a bison guide on a german forum and I would love to get some more indepth tech. for bison. Also desperately looking for some KD data and corner set ups and also for char. specific set ups. So far the information here was very helpfull but is now coming to a point where some infos from high level player would be very help full.

Well I must have missed it at the time and had not personally come across that particular setup.

I have used the info in here to level up my play a lot and I reckon a lot of Bison’s can say the same. Just because you had tested it six months ago doesn’t mean it can’t be discussed again.

I respect you and you have a great bison so I’d rather you did post here but there’s no need to be so negative.

Option select wake up against Cammy.

If she knocks you down with spiral arrow and she’s doing here ambiguous late dive kick/cross up J.LK mix up I’ve found attempting normal reversals inputs don’t work. She seems to cross up in a way that interferes with the inputs.

Assuming you have 1 bar of meter and held back charge after getting knocked down, use Half Circle Forward and +PPP on wake up, you get auto correct Teleport if she crosses you up with J.LK but if she does Cannon Strike, you will get Ex Pyscho Crusher (which she can OS or punish with Super/Ultra 1). However in my experience Cammy’s don’t tend to OS off cross up moves. The Teleport is punishable if they react quick enough though.

You can use KKK if your sure she’s going to cross you up to get further distance on your teleport, which should be pretty safe, even from spiral arrow. If she doesn’t cross you up you end up with Ex Knee Press and will get punished.

its better to just not quickstand after spiral arrow knockdown.

i always use devil reverse non ex to sacrifice hit and stop cammy s pressure

I don’t recall seeing you do that much in those matches uploaded where you played against Alioune’s Cammy.
You use it against cross up J.LK as well or just her Dive Kick?

Ohh that’s nifty. Is the side switch sensitive to how late the opponent techs? I’ll update the OP after I sit down with it.

it wont work against quickstanding, only when they normal stand.
Its usefull against chars without dp, because you dont want to jump up and eat a flamekick to the face.

So against vega for example you can always jump up, either getting a sideswitch or a neutral jump hk on block.

Char specific combo that Gagapa came up with. Dont know if any1 knew about but here it is

cr.jab > st.jab > cr.mp > cr.mk > hk.knee press

works on yun, yang, makoto, gouken, dudley, blanka, honda and cammy

note: cr.mp > cr.mk is a 2 frame link. Against Yun however its a 1 frame link because of his hitbox during the cr.mp hit animation.
