Maybe they are thinking ahead and giving him cheesy lines instead of the angsty and emo crap, since both spencers will presumably be sharing the same dialogue.

No he’s a white guy who originally had short red hair (and a Tom Selleck 'stache) before going to jail, growing dreadlocks and getting a tan.
Not sure how to feel. I wanted Rad Spencer, but… why not the Rad Spencer that’s getting a sequel? The one that wasn’t a douche? At least his gameplay looks tight.

It’s a PUN. A play on the same word but with similar meanings. It was a red herring to make people think of big throw-heavy characters like Haggar and Zangief, because when fighting fans hear the word “grapple” they think “throw/grab” instead of what it actually means in the real world:
Grapple
n. 1. An iron shaft with claws at one end, usually thrown by a rope and used for grasping and holding, especially one for drawing and holding an enemy ship alongside. Also called grapnel, grappling, Also called grappling hook, grappling iron.
If his long didtance grapple IS unblockable (and I’ve got an inkling it is) that would be awesome. It seems to function more as a rushdown tool than an outright throw like Zangief or Omega red’s tenticles. It seems to do only jab level damage, and seems to set up combos, which is the opposite of most grapplers (which is to se up mixups, not combos). all in all, an ineresting take on the grappling style.
Never played the game, but I got no problem with the design. The game could use a dreadhead, and I’m pretty sure Brother Voodoo isn’t confirmed.
Just give me my Rad Spencer alternate color outfit Capcom, and we’re good.
gotta say, Spencer is looking fun as hell to play! I’m definately maining him, and I actually like alot of his dialigue! His bickering with the other characters is priceless!
and that grapple arm, holy shit that thing looks scary for rushdown. He and Spidey are rivals for sure!
