I am currently waiting on a CG loader, I got one i. order and I think they are being sent out next month
Nice.
I thought about getting a GC Loader, but a) I like the cute mini-DVDs, b) I have the entire US/JP library burned on disc already in storage, and c) the drive on mine still works, so I feel bad ripping it out and not using it.
One of the main reasons I put in a knock-off GDEMU in my Dreamcast was that the drive was dead when my buddy gave me the console.
CPS1 down. CPS2 is close (I can feel it)
Now if only this virus would fuck offā¦
I donāt have my component cables and stuff for my GC ordered yet from Amazon because of the human malware situation. That stuff will be coming soon though, along with potentially a new AMD CPU for the wifeās PC; since hers is dead and is causing her desktop system not to post. Havenāt decided if Iām gonna keep her on 6 cores, or jump her to 8 or even 12 cores; since she does graphic design work on that setup.
What do you do when everyone online is touting their recently delivered PC Engine mini?
Buy a legit PC Engine, of course.
And get ether a Turbo Everdrive or the SD SYSTEM 3
Will be looking at those very soon.
Thatās the plan. Got Terraonionās twitter feed on speed dial.
My problem with getting another console is two fold. I donāt really have room in my storage rack right now for another console to be stored, and I donāt have a way of using it at the moment, unless thereās some dark arts/wizardry/something thatāll take a video connection for a PC Engine and turn it into a HDMI signal.
The storage problem will be remedied somewhat once I get my office setup.
Other thing for retro consoles you could do is the mister project. It got PC Engine support, it lacks CD game support, but its in the works.
I guess if anything, retro stuff like a PC Engine would be my gateway into a Framemeister, or another Micomsoft solution.
Most people will only play/like a handful of games on the oc engine mini.
Just buy the individual games via the ps japan store for your ps3
I want to see this unfold

Ben Heck tackling the Nintendo M82 Unit with some possible help from GameTechUS who has an leftover ASIC that he had when he fix another m82 with the help of Kevtris.
Not done much long gaming sessions last few years due to work and family time etc
But lockdown has given me plenty game time
Been playing sf2hdremix last few days, surprisingly still active on ps3, not majorly but you still get games, sent about 5 hours on it kast couple days
And as a single player game, man i forgot how addictive raiden iv overkill is, i normally soend a spare half hour on ketsui, but raiden is really nice on the eyes, good sounds, and the intro is brilliant
What you guys playing?
Itās unsurprising how much more online gaming that Iām doing in this period of self-isolation.
When I was going to the office, I had a crew of 5-6 guys at work where we would play Smash Bros Ultimate over lunchtime once or twice a week. Now that weāre all home, weāre playing every day online at lunch. And most evenings too.
Otherwise, recent games that Iāve been playing:
- NSW - Smash Bros Ultimate (as per above)
- PS4 - Resident Evil 2 Remake (huge fan of the old PS1 RE2, so this one is awesome)
- XBO - Gears 5 (online multiplayer with my brother and a buddy of ours)
- NSW - Overcooked 2 (I play this with my wife)
- NSW - Yoshiās Crafted World (surprisingly a pretty good game, great visuals and nice long levels. The base game is expectedly kind of on the easier side, but thereās a ton of collectibles if you want to max it out, and itās pretty involved).
- NSW - Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise (bought this for cheap at $1.50CAD when it was on sale; huge fan of the old-school point-and-click puzzle-solving adventure game style. This one did not disappoint; considering I spent 4-5 hours finishing this, and my wife is still playing through her run now, best $1.50CAD Iāve spent for entertainment).
Looking forward to Final Fantasy VII Remake (though I think the wife is more excited about this than I am) and Resident Evil 3 Remake.
The only local co-op i can play is puyo puyo tetris, my mrs is worse tham training mode if we play fighters.
I find it hard to get into the longer campaign games, the last one i completed was luigis mansion on launch in a day because it was short. And i think i was at about 60 to 70% sm sunshine and turok, i still got the memory card, i know i only need to do the all cup final race on double dash to complete that. But probably will never get round to it.
I prefer a quick burst of a fighter or a shmup.
Ive got about 100 non fighters for ps3 that i bought when psn had sales.
I downloaded tomb raider on saturday, i bought it for $1.99 on psn sale a couple years back, i had to switch it off after 10 minutes, i see people on youtube who have completed it on ps3, ps4 and ps4 pro, WTF, i cant get passed the first part where you got the wolves and the bow and arrow, cant work out where to go and im too stubborn to look at youtube for hints as i wanna do it on my ownā¦
I might download resistance and try that, that was rated highly, or crysis, thinking about it, i think ill order a 1.5tb hdd because i got loads to download
Cant stand final fantasy, i bought crystal chronicles on launch because when i was in school my friends used to always talk about ff7 on ps1, and couldnt understand the hype, it was just walking round and reading text
Id love to try the new smash bros but i swore ps3 wouls be my last console, ans i got more than enough games unplayed.
Yeah, in recent years itās been harder to dedicate the time and patience to JRPGs, and much preferring fighters. Hence why I went through a phase where I was primarily playing SFV, DBFZ, BBTAG, UNIEST and Smash.
I was still playing campaign-mode games with my brother and buddy because we use it more as a social event than anything.
Crystal Chronicles is really not representative of a āFinal Fantasyā, though, I can say that much. Iāve enjoyed most mainline FF titles, but Crystal Chronicles wasnāt something that I particularly cared for.
I still kept up with the current generation of consoles, but I only buy games when they go on sale. The $80CAD that they are at nowadays is really hard to justify at full price, so I almost always wait until they drop in price. Like everyone else, my backlog of games (among other hobbies) is ridiculous, so no shortage of games to catch up on while I wait.
On that topic, although Iāve been a day-1 adopter for the last generations of consoles (all the DSes, all the PSPs, Vita, Wii/Wii-U/Switch, PS3/PS4, X360/XBO), I probably will not be on the next gen of PS5 and XBSX. All Iām pretty much playing nowadays is on Switch, so until thereās something that I absolutely need on the PS5/XBSX, I could probably wait it out.
beat em ups with my 4year old.
River City Girls, Alien vs Predator, Ninja Saviors, Final Fight, and (as of today) Streets of Rage series.
My wife thinks Iām causing his young psyche irreparable damage. i think heās learning a life skill. Especially if shit goes REAL south.
I been playing the shit out of the new Animal Crossing New Horizons
Not as much as people though as I still gotta go to work
