Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition season VI, RIP MarkMan's #BeardStache

Whoooo.
Finally took some time this past weekend to build some custom sticks; it’s been a while since I’ve been at the table-saw and drill press to get this stuff done (I believe the last full-custom sticks I made were my Sega Panel sticks from late 2014).
Currently have 4 sticks on the assembly line; two for close buddies of mine (I play SF and DBFZ with them), one for my wife’s sister (I play BBTAG and UNIEST with her), and one last one for myself.

My main drive for getting them done now is that, as some of you might know, I do all my woodworking at my parents’ house (they live 5 minutes away) because my dad has all the tools; he went out of his way to clean up all the power tools and rig up better wire/power management for them for me right before leaving on vacation, and I’d feel bad if I didn’t take an opportunity to use it all.

I decided to open up the Secret Santa sign up early.

tomorrrow the missus and I are heading out of town to do side work. She’s not been approved to start with Amazon as a contractor yet, so for her it’ll be my previous contractor platform. For me, it’ll be contractor work for Doordash and Instacart tomorrow. Instacart work for the rest of the week here as well.

Random question:
Does anyone know if there’s any seller of repro/aftermarket GameCube Wavebird shells?
I’m not looking for any shell specifically (although that might be cool too); I lost the little power-LED-light-diffuser clear plastic part when I disassembled mine when I was de-yellowing it months ago.

In a worst case scenario, I might just see if I can scratch-build my own by hand (which sounds horribly tedious).

Make a case mold and pour resin in

That would work… IF I had the part I needed to cast. Remember, I lost a small insert, and I’m just trying to get a replacement for that insert. I don’t need the whole shell; I just need the little clear plastic light diffuser.

Just finished painting and test fitting some sub-shelf inserts for my IKEA Kallax I ordered from Etsy. Now to hook everything up.

That’s a sexy setup.
Just need a Master System and a PS1 in there.

Thanks! The PS2 plays PS1 games though and whenever I can afford a Mega SD (or more preferably whatever Krikzz releases to compete) I won’t need an SMS.

Razer’s got a new fightpad out with mechanical buttons.

Also, I miss @MarkMan 's mustache.

You mean a black Net Yaroze PS1 so it matches everything.

I wonder if you could possibly take it apart and swap the switches out for either Cherry or Gateron ones?

But of course.

I wanna know what switches are in it first. Though being Razer, they’re probably Omrons.

If only I had the thousands to blow on one of those net yaroze systems :sunglasses:.
Black rattle can to the rescue?

If the dpad is shite then that controller is dead on arrival.

Knowing Razer and their QC history on PC peripherals, it’ll be at least $100 if not more and break almost immediately after taking it out of the box.

Sooooo. Analogue Pocket:

Considering I had an extra GBA to do Woozle’s GBA Consolizer mod, and an extra GBA SP to do a FunnyPlaying IPS screen mod, this Analogue Pocket covers BOTH those bases, so I guess I’m no longer doing the mods.

I have been really good with keeping my wallet away from a Mega SG.

Now you show me this?!

wife gave the okay to pull the trigger on our stick cases tomorrow. Got stuff to do early AM, then I’m buying those (she gets a Universal case from AFS, and I’m getting my Panzer Hitbox).
