Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition season VI, RIP MarkMan's #BeardStache

eBay searching and I found this gem.

Of all the arcade stick designs you could steal they picked that one obscure Nyko one.

Stole, or did they just buy the injection mould for the stick?

Wow, itā€™s a good job nobody here needs an ambidextrous fight stick!!

Na, he too busy trying to explain he can get away with a cat 5 tester instead of getting a proper multimeter

Itā€™s probably just the same company making it for Nyko.

I like the photoshopped picture of Kenny Omega they have on the product page. Literally stolen from Razerā€™s site. It even has a Kota Ibushi pillow next to him hahaha

Because why hire your own models when you can steal and photoshop your own thing into said photo.

Anybody have a template for a TE plate with a straight buttons?

So that what that LED was for

I just received an OSSC for use with my Saturn, Dreamcast and PS2. Hereā€™s what I was thinking for connections:
Saturn -> SCART/RGB
Dreamcast -> VGA
PS2 -> Component

Iā€™ve read around and some people recommend SCART for Dreamcast. All of the DC games Iā€™ll be playing support VGA mode, so is a SCART switcher worth the added expense?

I found a scart switcher useful

Anyone know a way to force 60hz on Dreamcast without soldering? Iā€™m using a USB GDROM and PAL unit. Iā€™ve heard DC-X can help, but I canā€™t find the disc image.

Action Reply/ Game Shark, but the borders can be off and the games can glitch.

lol mad catz

Itā€™s kind of funny they had preorders for this so called LS33ā€¦ itā€™s just a LS55 with all the small parts being LS33 , that is only for the ones that differ from LS55 (shaft, spring, washerā€¦) .

They talk about using a LS55 moldā€¦to make it sound like some special custom solution or something, but all they did was use a LS55 body and do a simple parts swap for the shaft assembly.
Anybody can do that by ordering the necessary seperate parts, except that there are no shops proposing spare LS33 parts so they act as if they had some form of exclusivity, but they donā€™t : Go on http://www.seimitsu.co.jp/buhin.html and there you can still find spare LS33 parts. Seimitsu updates regularly so if they say itā€™s available, it really is (this being said there seems to be little mistake on the site, the actuator product picture for LS33 is in fact that of a LS56 when it should be like the LS55 one in shape. I believe thatā€™s due to them grouping the ā€œoddā€ LS33/60/62 parts in one section ).

The thing is a stock LS55 uses a LS40 shaft pure and simple (itā€™s official).

made my initial sacrifice to the blood gods yesterday trying to remove a very tightly inserted Samducksa button out of my obsidian. Luckily, the wound was more or less superficial; but Iā€™ve been babying the fuck out of my dominant hand. it should be fully healed by EOW.

Got a call from my manager in my last weekend of paternity leave before returning to work. He gave me a big raise and RSUs. Yay!

Then in my infinite spontaneous wisdom I pulled the trigger on a near-mint HSS-0130 on eBayā€¦for more dough than I should have spent. Ouch.

The wife is going to end me.

Now to order some Retro Boards to go with my two UFBs I got in a drawer somewhere :slight_smile:

Thursday Iā€™m gonna start ordering stuff for the missusā€™ AFS stick. Thatā€™ll be her Christmas gift this year, and sheā€™s getting IMAX tickets for Star Wars for her birthday a couple of days later. Havenā€™t decided whether to stay in Texas to go watch it, or take her to the Boardwalk in Shreveport to watch it.

I opened my old aatrox beta stick to reminisce of the good old days to find that I had actually left an unsoldered brooks board inside. Maybe itā€™s time to use an iron again.
