All 3-4 of my personal sticks all have LS-40-01 in them, so this is relevant to me. Especially since, for some reason, on some of the levers, the corners feel a bit… weird? Like, the joystick doesn’t “lock” into the diagonals well, and it’s more of a… “rounded corner”?
I’m curious to try out that Omron gate to see if it “fixes” what I feel.
I’m not actually sure what purpose the side cutouts serve, though…
the edge cutouts follow the new pcb outline so as not to press on the new solder point locations . in the same vein as the new sc ls-32 steel switch plate btw.
look at the new (on the left) vs old (right) ls-40-01
on the quest to find my wife her arcade stick, we originally thought we would have to scratch build her a stick. We ended up mocking up an AllFightSticks build for her, which I think she’s happy with. She ended up going with a Vewlix layout over either a Namco Noir or Sega layout.
LS-33 is back on the market, you could easily rig a Brook mount and the top holes can be widened to take 20mm Sanwas - I’m thinking it’s not as hard to mod as it used to be!
Think I’m gonna cut out the plastic around the lever, take the mounting plate the LS-33 came with to a metal shop with the top plate from the EX2 and have them measure and punch countersinks so I can just attach the lever to the top plate.
@d3v, I feel like if I don’t have at least one high quality EX2 mod under my belt I’ll always be a poser.
Found a place to buy the replacement screws for my Obsidian. Tried looking on Aliexpress and Alibaba for the screws, but no dice. Ended up on a site called Banggood and bought a set of 12 for three bucks and some change. Now to wait a long ass time for them to get here.
Since I found out I have a tentative job offer, I told my wife that if the job offer clears everything and I get my pension in October, that I’m buying our new sticks at the same time as a Christmas present.
