Why is it cheaper to just buy a pre-made OG GBA with the backlight mod and custom case than to do it myself?
So Daigo’s been allowed to use Gafro’s “hitbox” that doesn’t use a standard SOCD cleaner.
I had to look this thing up
Why? Why would you use that ?
Some context for other readers

First time I heard daigos badge I years it seems
I feel like fighting games are on the downslide, going by these past 18 months
I used to look forward to super turbo tournament of legends at evo etc, have not heard of them for a while,
i did not even check in on the past couple of evos because of work and just too busy and forgot
May be because im still on ps3, but it feels like less hype on fighters now
I am thinking the whole eSports scene is going to have a bubble burst relatively soon.
Like how Dot Com crash of 2000. Or Comics in the 90s.
Like I see Evo surviving, smaller locals are going to survive.
Fortnight? Thats going to go down hard.
Star Craft? Well there is S. Korea.
Everything else? No idea. My Money on CS GO and Farm Simulator
So I did another thing
Modded my Super Game Boy to have correct clock speed and to have a Link Port.
Doing some browsing on eBay, I found a Link knockoff.
Not sure what the quality is but look wise it’s 1:1 to the Link.
looks like everyone is copying the Link …
first there’s the new Sanwa joystick that has something like it, and the new Samducksa sticks have something like it too.
Apologies for the crude MS Paint image, but does something like this exist?
Conceptually, looking for a 20-pin stackable header that has a ribbon cable out as a “splitter”.
Never heard of that. Crimping the ribbon will need a plastic acting as a clamp to hold it in the “forks” of each connectors.
How about making a PCB and use a a header receptacles with long contact posts like https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/en/preci-dip/423-83-220-41-001101/423-83-220-41-001101-ND/4107469
?
Yeah, I’m considering the PCB route; just gotta see how much clearance I have in the already super compact Exaprize casing that I’m using.
Otherwise I’ve definitely seen ribbon cable daisy chains. Instead of one connector that you can plug into from both sides, you just put two IDC connectors on the ribbon cable. If you’re looking to use the “stacked” connector as a physical support it wouldn’t be the same, but if you’re just going for compact you could put the two connectors right next to each other.
Looks like the ps3 blu Ray connector
If anyone’s wondering what I’m trying to do:
If you’ve seen some of my “recent” arcade sticks, you’ll have seen that I put 20-pin header pins connectors on everything, including my padhacks, just for future expansion, and I usually put right-angle header pins.
I’m now looking to expand compatibility and dual-mod on the sticks, so was hoping to be able to simply “splice” in button signal lines at the 20-pin connector.
Warning to those who have a USB-GDROM in their Dreamcasts: it apparently has a self-bricking timer on the Firmware…
I know @darksakul has it, not sure who else…
Conceptually, looking for a 20-pin stackable header that has a ribbon cable out as a “splitter”.
Could you just put an extra connector on the cable?
If you’re really motivated, you could take an IDC header, break off the strain relief, and solder a PCB header in its place.
FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!
FUCK YOU MNEMO!!
The Fucking shit is this?
From the shit I’ve read about mnemo, this doesn’t surprise me at all. What a dick.
Good luck to all staying up at night to order a GDEMU within a 5 min window, like 3x/year (if you’re lucky)
Screw that; I went on eBay and bought a GDEMU knock-off from China. So far it’s worked like a charm; absolutely no regrets on that considering what my alternative experiences could have been.
