Action Reply/ Game Shark, but the borders can be off and the games can glitch.
It’s kind of funny they had preorders for this so called LS33… it’s just a LS55 with all the small parts being LS33 , that is only for the ones that differ from LS55 (shaft, spring, washer…) .
They talk about using a LS55 mold…to make it sound like some special custom solution or something, but all they did was use a LS55 body and do a simple parts swap for the shaft assembly.
Anybody can do that by ordering the necessary seperate parts, except that there are no shops proposing spare LS33 parts so they act as if they had some form of exclusivity, but they don’t : Go on http://www.seimitsu.co.jp/buhin.html and there you can still find spare LS33 parts. Seimitsu updates regularly so if they say it’s available, it really is (this being said there seems to be little mistake on the site, the actuator product picture for LS33 is in fact that of a LS56 when it should be like the LS55 one in shape. I believe that’s due to them grouping the “odd” LS33/60/62 parts in one section ).
The thing is a stock LS55 uses a LS40 shaft pure and simple (it’s official).
made my initial sacrifice to the blood gods yesterday trying to remove a very tightly inserted Samducksa button out of my obsidian. Luckily, the wound was more or less superficial; but I’ve been babying the fuck out of my dominant hand. it should be fully healed by EOW.
Got a call from my manager in my last weekend of paternity leave before returning to work. He gave me a big raise and RSUs. Yay!
Then in my infinite spontaneous wisdom I pulled the trigger on a near-mint HSS-0130 on eBay…for more dough than I should have spent. Ouch.
The wife is going to end me.
Now to order some Retro Boards to go with my two UFBs I got in a drawer somewhere
I will need to get ready for Tech talk secret Santa soon, Thread is going up in October.
Thread is up for interest check and getting the word out. I could not wait.
@d3v can you pin the Secret Santa Thread?
Thursday I’m gonna start ordering stuff for the missus’ AFS stick. That’ll be her Christmas gift this year, and she’s getting IMAX tickets for Star Wars for her birthday a couple of days later. Haven’t decided whether to stay in Texas to go watch it, or take her to the Boardwalk in Shreveport to watch it.
I opened my old aatrox beta stick to reminisce of the good old days to find that I had actually left an unsoldered brooks board inside. Maybe it’s time to use an iron again.
Whoooo.
Finally took some time this past weekend to build some custom sticks; it’s been a while since I’ve been at the table-saw and drill press to get this stuff done (I believe the last full-custom sticks I made were my Sega Panel sticks from late 2014).
Currently have 4 sticks on the assembly line; two for close buddies of mine (I play SF and DBFZ with them), one for my wife’s sister (I play BBTAG and UNIEST with her), and one last one for myself.
My main drive for getting them done now is that, as some of you might know, I do all my woodworking at my parents’ house (they live 5 minutes away) because my dad has all the tools; he went out of his way to clean up all the power tools and rig up better wire/power management for them for me right before leaving on vacation, and I’d feel bad if I didn’t take an opportunity to use it all.
I decided to open up the Secret Santa sign up early.
tomorrrow the missus and I are heading out of town to do side work. She’s not been approved to start with Amazon as a contractor yet, so for her it’ll be my previous contractor platform. For me, it’ll be contractor work for Doordash and Instacart tomorrow. Instacart work for the rest of the week here as well.
Random question:
Does anyone know if there’s any seller of repro/aftermarket GameCube Wavebird shells?
I’m not looking for any shell specifically (although that might be cool too); I lost the little power-LED-light-diffuser clear plastic part when I disassembled mine when I was de-yellowing it months ago.
In a worst case scenario, I might just see if I can scratch-build my own by hand (which sounds horribly tedious).
Make a case mold and pour resin in
That would work… IF I had the part I needed to cast. Remember, I lost a small insert, and I’m just trying to get a replacement for that insert. I don’t need the whole shell; I just need the little clear plastic light diffuser.
Just finished painting and test fitting some sub-shelf inserts for my IKEA Kallax I ordered from Etsy. Now to hook everything up.
If you’re interested:
That’s a sexy setup.
Just need a Master System and a PS1 in there.
Thanks! The PS2 plays PS1 games though and whenever I can afford a Mega SD (or more preferably whatever Krikzz releases to compete) I won’t need an SMS.
Razer’s got a new fightpad out with mechanical buttons.

Also, I miss @MarkMan 's mustache.
You mean a black Net Yaroze PS1 so it matches everything.
I wonder if you could possibly take it apart and swap the switches out for either Cherry or Gateron ones?
