Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition Season V

Man, what the modding community calls easy as pie, is TOUGH for a human. It took me an hour to mod 8 buttons and a new ball top. I did it, even after breaking a stock button. Pats myself on the back. I was able to do some awesome stuff right off the bat with sanwa. The buttons aren’t as sensitive as people say, though.

Lol, you’ll get better Palmer.

Sucks Majin, wish I was on west coast for the cheap cab goodness…

i can’t decide between the LS-40 and LS-32… i’ve swapped em out like 5 times now lol

they both feel great though

ls-40, is everything the ls-32 is and better.

good news! My dad is ok with my project! It’s pretty sad at 23 that I have to seek permission to do stuff like this, but since im not going to school nor paying rent right now, I didn’t want to upset him.

don’t feel bad, i’m 19 and i don’t appear to be going anywhere soon in terms of a life.

The same can be said for the majority of people between 18 and 25 >_>

School’s on hold now. Completing my degree starting january. have been on hold for my local colleges nursing program for a year and a half now.

Thanks jdm714 & the_judge;

Next question, should PS-14 body with RG switch fit in TE? Or is it too long?
Don’t want to buy $25 of switches only to find it don’t work.

Anyone who can find me Green, Anodized top panel screws for a HRAP, a million thanks. they exist, i found them about 8 months ago on a motorcycle parts website, but by god I can’t find them.

Got my order in. Thanks for the heads up. LED mod time!

hmm who was it that was doing the candy cabinet templates? I want to commission him to create some stuff for my new astro city.

What do you guys use to widen button holes?

I got PS-14-G buttons for my SE and apparently these things are like 31mm. so I need to widen the holes on my SE. Dremel costs way too much, I barely have to shave any off here

can i sand the buttons? <_<

Sorry, but a dremel is your best bet. Maybe a 30mm forstner bit if you’ve got a steady hand with a drill, or have a drill press.

(oh, and PS-14-G buttons are 30mm)

edit: Oh, d3v… I’m <3’ing the Miku template.

I just got a sanding sponge and works fine on the buttons.

Please please please PLEASE wear gloves if you’re going that route. The only reason I didn’t recommend it was because I nearly watched someone slice through the tips of two of their fingers trying to do the same thing. Goddamn that was a lot of blood.

O_O with a sanding sponge? how? they’re so soft

i mean one of these

i rubbed my index fingertip a couple times while i was sanding the buttons and nothing happened.

EDIT: Well, I finished what I consider to be my “final” modification of my stick. Finally figured out what my favorite parts are (LS-40 and PS-14-G snap-ins) and it’s perfect to me. Even the color scheme. or… lack of color… and no artwork. who needs art lol

That sponge slipped and he dug into metal that he’d just filed down. Needless to say, it was pretty damn sharp.

shudders

My clear engraved Flash 1 dust washer from art just snapped in half
