Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition Season V

Can anyone tell me if Sanwa RG switches fit in Seimitsu PS-14 bodies?

Thanks.

They will fit into the Button Body.
But the Microswitch Actuator will not go into the Plunger.
The Actuator on the Microswitch is a square, while the Plunger has a Slot.

Still works though.

Keep in mind that because of the two not contacting properly, the button’s plunger will be raised noticeably.
Has not impact on performance, but needs to be known.

Yes.

does anyone know if there is enough plastic on the plunger to shave down a little to pevent the lift as seen above? Or will that cause too much dmg for the plunger to work properly

So many new template requests. August has been a busy month, and on top of that, I’ve resolved to do a speedrun (tool assisted to save my sanity) of Super Metroid right before Other M drops.

Yes?

i’ve come to the conclusion that I’m just going to buy a vewlix. Time to talk to some importers.

Working on a consolized CPS2 right now. If this turns out how I want it, you kids will certainly be hearing about it!

hey guys if you buy alternates on an xbox live account will it be there for any other gamertags on that same xbox because i was thinking of creating a uk silver account getting the alternates for a japanese gold account as i may be going over there for a while

So, I’ve been thinking. Since a few of us who provide services for sticks (dual-modding, cases, acrylic, PCBs, art, etc.) would it be worth something for the community if we created a ā€œTech Talk Networkā€ of sites of those who provide such services to the community?

EDIT:
On an unrelated note, guess who’s design won him a pair of A30’s over at Capcom-Unity.

As long as the license for the download is on that xbox (If you downloaded it on that xbox, don’t worry about anything), if it was downloaded on another xbox, you’ll either need to be signed in with that gamertag, or you’ll need to transfer the license through microsofts site.

thanks for the info would i need a gold account to get online to buy stuff from the store?

That would be awesome as long as it stays updated. There’s a thread for stick builders but it’s kind of out of date.

And congrats on the win.

@ LouieBH
No, all you need is a silver account. There are some demos that are given to gold members early, but thats it.
@d3v and nitewalker
That would finally give me the incentive to start actually USING my web hosting and domain for more than email lol

Well I was going to pick up a blast city but the poster above me beat me too it.

For me the coin door isn’t the biggest deal. The machine that was cleanest had a broken coin mechanism and was unable to play games. But everything else was really clean. Just some noobie questions (that I’m sure can be answered by the search button or through the wiki)

  1. What excactly do I need to hook up a PC to the moniter. To my Understanding It’s a dual sync. I will need something called a J-Pac if i read correctly but I have no idea what exactly it does.

  2. How do I get the speakers on the machine to work? If it’s a difficult process what can I buy computer wise that I can swap it out with that look similiar?

  3. Is it possible to add more buttons? The machine I was looking at only had 4 buttons, I believe that the 4th bottom button worked so I’m sure it has a kick thingy. And how do I hook the joystick to the PC?

Is there anything else I need to know.

And again sorry for my nubness.

I should also introduce myself. I’m in love with fighting games and I’m in the process of buying a taito vewlix. If I can get an importer to do the work for me in canada.

(just copied my post from arcade otaku).

Also How does marvel vs capcom 2 and other ā€œnewerā€ games look on these?

Same way you would wire up a regular custom. PC compatible PCB (Cthulhu or similar) connected via USB.

The J-PAC (JAMMA interface for Pc to Arcade Controls) is a board which allows plug-in connection of a JAMMA arcade cabinet to a VGA card and keyboard port or USB port on a PC motherboard.
So in essence, it bridges the I/O for your PC to the cabinet.

a pair of shielded speakers should work just fine. May not be as big or powerful as the ones inside the blast cabinet.

What do you mean by ā€œadd more buttonsā€? Does the top panel only have spots for four buttons? if so, you can make the other two 30mm holes, or buy a new top panel that has 6 buttons (That’ll run you about $100 give or take depending on the top panel). In order to hook the stick up to a pc, you’re going to need to wire the buttons/stick up to a PCB, like a Cthulhu or an ipac.

They look fine, personally playing 3s on anything but an arcade looks like ass to me.

So apparently a j-pac sucks and a http://www.arcadeshop.de/images/specs/JammASD.pdf

is much much better.

Also the astro city had 6 button layout. It just had 2 button plugs. So I’d have to add buttons.

Reading through the old Check out my new arcade stick thread, found this post from may '09…

I thought it was interesting how similar it looks to the TE-S that would come out a year later

I did a double-take at first lol
